Janis and her husband Dan were beyond phenomenal! Communication was great leading up to their arrival, especially with coordinating arrival and departure times. And during the sit, I got lots of picture updates throughout of how Isabel was doing. I could tell from the pictures how comfortable and happy my dog was hanging out with Janis and Dan and getting all the pets and attention. Coming home, everything was left so clean and organized. I definitely recommend them as pet sitters as they clearly took such good care of both my pup and my home.
Once again, having AnnaMarie take care of our pups was absolutely the right choice!! Her frequent updates, care of our house and fur babies was stellar! Although the dogs were thrilled to see us when we returned, as we chatted with Annemarie, we could see them continuing to go to her for affection and cuddles. It was so sweet to watch our one-year-old lick her ear and Annamarie just giggled and happily tolerated it. What a great sport😎. We would highly recommend her to anyone and would also suggest if you happen to see a less than perfect review for her ( there is only 1)I know the true story... it's unfortunate that some people are so unappreciative of someone who will go out of their way to care for their home and Pets (at no charge🙃🙃)-- it just boggles my mind and am confident they are not being honest! Suffice it to say she is a gem and perfect sitter in every way- if you can get a chance to book with her- do not hesitate! We truly think of her as part of our family now and all 5 of our pups would agree!
Kelly and Chris are lovely people and we loved having them at the house! They were very engaged from the start, asking questions and wanting to know all the details on our pets. We were completely comfortable going away and didn’t worry during our trip knowing our kiddos were in such great hands. K & C gave us pics & updates as requested, and we loved seeing our pets have such a good time with them! They left the house in as good or better shake as it was found, laundering and folding linens and tidying up so well we could hardly tell they stayed here! They were communicative before the sit, during, and after. Kelly and Chris were the ideal sitters in every way. We’d welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to others. Thanks you two!
Erin was a great pet sitter who took such good care of little Chino. She was very reliable, kept us up to date with videos/pictures, looked after our home and kept it neat and tidy. She even left a thoughtful gift upon our return and was flexible with our travel plans. We would definitely recommend Erin for anyone looking for a reliable and friendly pet sitter!
I enjoyed meeting Samara. Sosha arrived after I left so we only communicated in writing. Samara is a sweet, considerate pet sitter. She brought her cat, who posed no difficulties to my pets. Samara was in good communication with me during her stay. She used my car without incident. My home was left much cleaner than upon her arrival. Samara proved to be an honest and responsible pet sitter and I would open my home to her at any time in the future.
Kate was an excellent house sitter and pet sitter. She was thoughtful, sensitive, and attuned to our cats and the particulars of our house. It was really easy to communicate with her and she was responsible and conscientious about everything. When we came back our cats seemed unfazed by our return which was a great sign and it was obvious that she spent lots of time with them and gave them lots of love. The house was spotless on our return and she even alerted us to a health matter in one of our cats. She sent lots of cute updates and was easy going when we messed up a logistical detail on our end. Just a delightful person all around. I'd love to have her come again and if you have a chance to have her housesit, jump on it. She is a gem.
We've had many pet sitters over the years (this is our first time using this app) and Missy is the best sitter we've ever had for our dog and cats. Our pets, particularly our dog, adored her and was really sad to see her go. It is obvious she loves animals and immediately understood the pack dynamics and the pet personalities. She kept the house tidy, litter box clean, and the animals so well loved. Because she was traveling from far away, she stayed with us the night before our trip and the night we came back. It was a pleasure to get to know her. We would welcome her back to our house as a friend or a sitter anytime. Highly recommend!
Andrea was the perfect sitter for our older Italian Greyhound and our shy cat. She followed every request to a “t”, and helped us to feel comfortable and care free for a long zeewoi. The communication of photos and videos were a warm reminder of how well they had been adjusting to our absence. Andrea showed care and consistent compassion for Darcy and Hammy. She seemed to enjoy them and our home as much as us! We returned to an absolutely spotless home, without anything left undone. She thought of everything related to us and our pets, so we could have a seamless late evening return. We highly recommend Andrea for any zeewoi, as she is a jewel. Anyone looking for a “perfect” sitter would be lucky to have Andrea as a trustworthy, considerate and kind person to care for their pets and home.
Elaine was the best dog and cat sitter I have ever had! She was so loving to the boys, kind, reliable, capable and took fabulous care of my two dogs and cat welfare. Walked them every day and would even sing to them (-: I am so very grateful to have had the pleasure of meeting Elaine and I would recommend Elaine to anyone wanting first class care of pets and home!!! We all miss having her around and wish her a fabulous world trip and safe journey back to the States.
Heath spent a long weekend at my home taking great care of both dogs and the cat. He was able to help out on rather short notice, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets in his care. Heath is friendly and reliable and left my home neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend him as a house/pet sitter for future assignments!

Our two dogs have been regularly going to Alan's Retreat for several years and are always happy and well cared for. Would thoroughly recommend
If you’re looking for somewhere for your fur baby to be treated like a King or. Queen then look no further. At Aslans Retreat they will be cared for by Jane and her team as if they were their own. Nothing is too much trouble and their every need is catered for. There is a paddock which is fully fenced in where they can run and play safely, and there are also walks in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. Should the weather be too hot for walks in the Summer there is water play to keep your fur baby cool and refreshed. The Kennels are spotless and unlike many kennels they DO NOT SMELL so your fur baby doesn’t come home smelling. Jane and her team are happy to show you round the Kennels at anytime. Jane and her team will also ensure your fur baby is tucked up safely and settled at bedtime. If your fur baby is on medication Jane and her team will make sure it is given and has been taken as per prescription instructions. We all know how wily some fur babies are when it comes to taking their medication, they will try every trick in the book to avoid taking it, at Aslans Retreat you can be sure your fur baby will receive their medication. If your dog is of a nervous disposition as my fur baby is. Jane will happily take your fur baby in for doggy daycare so that your fur baby can get used to the surroundings of the kennels and all its busy daily routines. My fur baby, Elsa is now more than happy to go stay at Aslans Retreat for her holidays whilst we go on ours and I don’t worry as I know she is in safe hands day and night. She still goes to daycare once a week to keep her in the swing of things and she absolutely loves her time there. Until we found Aslans Retreat we hadn’t had a holiday in 5 years because Elsa was traumatised from a previous stay in some other kennels. Jane took the time to get to know Elsa and gently introduce her to life at Aslans Retreat. Aslans Retreat Pets Holiday Home is also the home of Aslans Raw so if your fur baby is fed on a raw food diet Aslans Raw is the place to go for a wide selection of Raw feed in many different flavours, they also stock a wide selection of natural dog treats and snacks. If you’re still not sure that Aslans Retreat is the right fit for your fur baby, why not give Jane a call or better still go take a look for yourself.
My two cockers Winston & Carling stayed here for a week, they’ve absolutely loved it!, they were so so happy when they came bounding out the kennel & realised we were there to pick them up, outstanding kennels to which we won’t hesitate to take them to again, a big thanks to all at the kennels 👍. It’s definitely a 5 stars ⭐️ from us!. …
Ive given 4 stars cos i didnt see it all that said i know that they have areas for the dogs to get outside and have a run around etc so i would suggest that its nearer to 5 stars than 4. Friendly poloite staff, clean kennels and theyre happy for you to phone them to check on your 🐕 and reasonably priced. All in all a good place for your dog and we will use them again.
Just turned up without appointment. Was shown round the kennels and all their facilities by a young lady who was extremely helpful. Was really impressed. Have booked my dog into daycare there
Brilliant kennel for my rottie. He always seems happy when we take him and collect him. Very reasonably priced. Lovely friendly staff members. Would definitely recommend!
Our dogs love it here, we call it their. holiday. Always come home smelling clean and looking well looked after. Staff are very friendly and dog lovers. I'd recommended to everyone.
Absolutely amazing place and I'd like to ask Sarah smithson where she does her shopping etc as quite alot of people have tattoos, and as for other lady being snobby I'm sure you were the snobby one judging people xx
My dog has been going here for many years he loves it. The tattoo lady is excellant with them. Dont judge people by their looks
Excellent service my 5 dogs loved it, the staff go out of their way to help you. The staff are very knowledgeable and are always able to answer any questions
Finding Hannah’s Happy Hounds was a godsend for us because we was struggling finding somewhere for Nova-Dazzle to stay as she didn’t like staying in the kennels our other dog stays at (no fault to them Nova is just a very shy and nervous dog). We did daycare trails and overnight trails with Gemma Novas dog sitter and it worked out perfectly for her, she loves the comfy lifestyle. Our favourite thing is we get updates on her so we know she’s doing ok, we love the photos we get as well. Plus Gemma went above and beyond when I asked for a photo of Nova with a special card I had made for her. We can’t thank you enough for everything and we continue to take Nova just so she stays in contact with everyone ready for other holidays she spends with them.
Courtney was great with our girl! She didn’t love the table (apparently) but she looks beautiful! Will use again and highly recommend! The last one is before!!
Hannah simply adores all the pouches, she offers a very safe, professional boarding and dog walking service at a reasonable cost.
My little sighthound, Winter has been going to daycare with Ali a couple of times a week and it's been such a help. Winter was suffering from a bit of separation anxiety and Ali had made her time away from me super fun and she comes home a very tired girl. I can see how much Ali loves being with the dogs and part of Hannahs Happy Hounds. I would recommend the company and Ali to anyone looking for dog walking, daycare or boarding services 🩷
Bringing a dog into your family is a big commitment and whilst we all adore our furry friends it can be tricky to balance the welfare of your pet with a busy work schedule or perhaps a trip overseas. Our circumstances mean we are fortunate to be at home the majority of the week but there are times when we need support looking after our dog and that’s where Hannah’s Happy Hounds come in. My goal was to try and find someone close by who was flexible enough to look after our dog for the odd day and also offer a full residential service for a two week summer holiday. The most important box to tick was to find someone we connected with on a personal level, had a similar love for dogs and would give us complete peace of mind when leaving our family member with them. A quick google search presented numerous options and thankfully Hannah’s Happy Hounds was one of the top results. A quick glance at their website demonstrated how professional this business is and how seriously they take their work. I could easily navigate the site to find out more about the business, the services they provide and the all important contact details to make an enquiry. Hannah herself was the one to reply very promptly to my enquiry and was quick to arrange an introductory call to tell me more about her business. Trusting someone else with the care of your dog is a big step so I had prepared a long list of questions to ask Hannah but I didn’t need any of them. I simply sat back and listened whilst Hannah spoke passionately about her business and her team, explained in detail how they could help with our needs and completely put my mind at rest through her professionalism. It was also quite amusing to hear one of her dogs snoring in the background whilst she was talking to me!! So what happened next?! I was given access to the client portal on their website to enter all of the relevant information they need to guarantee the welfare of your dog. It was actually very reassuring to see the level of detail they go into during this process. Websites and client portals may sound a little impersonal to some but don’t worry that is just to get the fundamentals in place. From that point forward the service is 100% personal which is where Lisa came into the picture. Careful consideration is given to the type of dog you have, their age and personality before any decisions are made about who will be put forward as a potential match from Hannah’s team. We were introduced to Lisa who lives locally to us and came to visit for an introductory chat so we could all get to know each other. Suffice to say our dog loved Lisa from day one as did we as a family and we were super keen to sign Lisa up there and then. In typical Happy Hounds fashion though they insist on taking the time to get things right so the next stage was a taster session for Luna at Lisa’s house to meet the other dogs she may be spending time with and get used to a new environment. The most challenging part of the taster session was trying to wrestle her away from her new friends to go home but we followed up with an overnight stay shortly after so she was soon happy again. The bottom line for us is we now have a perfect situation where we can leave Luna with Lisa without an ounce of uncertainty. We know Lisa is amazing with all of the dogs she looks after (including her own who are so well behaved and very patient!) and we get regular updates through WhatsApp messages and photos and Luna absolutely adores being there. I can’t recommend Hannah & Lisa highly enough and if you are looking for professional and caring people who can provide a home from home for your dog then look no further and contact Hannah’s Happy Hounds!!
I take my pooch here for holidays and daycare and I can honestly say that Hannah is amazing with all the doggies in her care. She not only cares for them like she does her own dogs, she provides enrichment for them with fun walks and activities. Its truly a home from home experience.
My dog lady has been twice to Hannahs Happy Hounds team members. Both times we have been sent lots of updates and look forward to our new puppy staying with them again soon.
Brian Looks after our 18 month old boxer. Brian has him for daycare a couple of days a week. Brian and his family are fantastic and puppy really enjoys going! Recently Brian had him to stay for a week while we went on holiday. Brian constantly kept us updated with videos and photos showing puppy having his own holiday. He was cared for so well and Brian and his family made every effort to ensure puppy felt at home! We would have no hesitation at all to send puppy again and would highly recommend to others! A big thank you to Brian for all you do to help us out and to make him a happy, playful, lovable and trusting dog!! We cannot thank you enough!! 😃
Would not trust anyone else with my dog! Hannah is very knowledgeable, clearly loves dogs and is a very caring and helpful person.
Amazing business
Great Kennels, good value and friendly care for dogs
Lovely experience using (any) kennels for the first time! They reassured me as I was very nervous leaving Roscoe for the first time since his adoption. You can tell the staff prioritise the animals in their care and ensure a strict regime to allow them to settle into a routine. Roscoe clearly enjoyed himself and was rather tired out on his routine. I feel much better about a longer staff in a couple of months. Thank you.
If I could give more than 5 stars then I absolutely would. I’m the proud owner of a “complex” dog who, shall we say, has multiple personalities that shine through! Whoever Remi decides to be on that day makes no difference to Newdowns at all… they welcome him with open arms ❤️ he’s well cared for and they look after him and his chosen personality 😀 Remi is anxious and nervous outside if his home but he happily walks in there with confidence and I know he’s well looked after and cared for … plenty of play time, walk time and attention…. Their guests are always their priority and I would never hesitate to recommend Newdowns for your dogs…. Genuinely lovely people who genuinely love animals
They looked after our dogs and cat really well. not phased by our big dogs (rottie and rottie cross)and genuinely seemed to enjoy having them in their care. the cat is usually quite anxious when away from home but he's had no issues and has come home happy. cannot recommend enough. they really put my mind at ease during the drop off especially as the pups seemed to warm to them immediately
So I packed my hoomans off to hooman holiday kennels so I could have a break and enjoy another amazing holiday at the 5 star all inclusive Newdowns Kennels Resort. As always they treat me and their other guests as royalty…. Even if we (me) get a bit cheeky and over excited !! Food 10/10 Activity Programme 10/10 Entertainment 10/10 Walks 10/10 Accommodation 10/10 Treats 11/10 Will definitely be back in a few months to get a break from the hoomans and have another holiday. 100% recommend this place. Love Remi aged 3 & 3/4 ❤️
I always take my cat there and he always comes home happy. Took my puppy for a groom . Excellent service. Tom was soft and fluffy. Highly recommended!
This is an edit to my original review. Which was originally 1 star - but without any context, now it remains 1 star but with context. Although I do wish I could change it to zero stars. To set the scene, I left my 1 star review some months ago, but today, Newdowns reached out on Facebook to my partner asking to justify the review. To which I did - privately in a message to them. Sadly, I was not happy with the service which was provided by Newdowns when my dogs stayed with them on a couple of occasions and as a result we have found a different provider, which in comparison is streets ahead. Now, I had no intention of leaving this publically, but due to the disgraceful and hateful response which I received from Newdowns when I aired my concerns to them, I am making this very public. What I find most interesting about their response to my concerns, is that they came back and called me "an outright liar" and that I am "deceitful". Baring in mind, this was a private Facebook message and they had no reason to slate me in such a way as no one would see my feedback or their comments. Yet, at no point in the discussion did they apologise, take on board my views or accept any liability. Looking at other 1 star reviews, it simply proves that Newdowns are out right bullies. And whenever they receive a 1 star review, their backlash is to call the reviewer a "liar" - this does not justify the anything. As Newdowns closing comment to me, they suggested that they are going to speak to their solicitor regarding "libel and blackmail". Yet my concerns where only made directly to them, not on any public platform at their request and I certainly at no point made any blackmail demands (I have all of the evidence for this too.) This simply solidifies their bullish tactics. To anyone reading this review, I cannot comment on how they treat the dogs, yet my dog was with them over 4 nights and they did not notice her limp. They also allowed my other dog who is dog aggressive to be around other animals, which we have always strongly advised against. Additionally, I have never been able to see the condition of the kennels which was always a massive red flag, they have a very cloak and dagger feel to the place where the animals are handover at a gate and the owners cannot go any further, which is another reason why we looked for a better provider. The disgusting responses and abuse which I received today from them is certainly enough to make me never consider them again.
Sadly I have only given 1 star, wish I could have given none. Their care of the dogs is not in dispute (used them many times before) but their attitude today was shocking! Granted, I got the time wrong and thought it was collection at 4pm but this was the time they closed. Received a message at 4.05 asking if we were collecting so I jumped on car to get them, got there at 4.15. The gate was closed, not locked so I went in, rang the bell twice and called with no answer. Partner could hear talking and managed to get their attention to be met by a tirade of abuse and being told they were not releasing our dogs because we were late. Very very unprofessional and didn't trust leaving our dogs over night. It was only 15 minutes and if they had had the grace to explain politely, may not have been happy but would have left them. Surprisingly came across as lovely people when booking and taking money!
My partners review was factually correct and we have the times on the msgs to prove it. Don't ask someone to your property at 16:05 when your closed then 7 mins later start shouting vile obscenities at us when it could have been solved amicably. It was an innocent oversite on our part which didn't warrant the abuse we received from behind the cage you looked very suitable in.
Joanna and Steve are fabulous. My two rotti crosses adore them. The pups always come home looking happy and healthy. On the car ride to drop them off my older dog realises where we are and gets very excited. I used to get very anxious about leaving my animals at kennels but not with these two lovely people. All the while we live in and around Scunthorpe we will always use Newdowns!
They are so good to my Cruise, and always welcome him with loving arms. They always are willing to help in anyway they can. I can really recommend them, and ii truly appreciate all they do. Shereen Schreuder
Excellent transport and assistance provided by Michael for my first ever dog! He drove from Sheffield to Canterbury, stopping off at two service stations so my dog could exercise and make some mess! The car used was very smart and comfortable.
I have had the most amazing trip to pick my puppy stray up from Zante and drive all the way back to Yorkshire. My driver/courier, Norman was fantastic. The whole process went smoothly, safely and was a trip of a lifetime. They organised every last detail to ensure the dog and myself were comfortable and well looked after. Highly recommend this fantastic company. Expensive but SO well worth it. Thank you.
I travelled with my dog from Sweden to Wales. They were very professional and organised and even remembered our names when we would call. No issues with booking etc. Were given plenty of information and contacted by the driver days before which was reassuring. He arrived in a branded van and clothes which reassured me (I am a young woman) and was very professional throughout. The van was clean and well equipped for transporting my dog and we took regular breaks around every 4 hours. Well worth the money and would definitely use c four paws again. Thanks/Diolch!
We had Milo collect from London on Sunday with two cages and a carry cage and lots of toys. Milo was perfectly happy and items were in good order. Collected on time and delivered on time. Excellent service and driver was very nice. Highly recommended for animal transport. Will definitely use again if the need arises. Good job thank you
Calagran Four Paws and my driver Will were absolutely amazing at handling our cross country transport for a long distance move. Having a rather large Staffy x Old Tyme, who had sadly had to be exempted due to her size, I was even terrified to take her on the road in anything other than proper transport. And with it being such a long way I wanted a safe long distance option also for all round safety and comfort. Our needs were catered for with the upmost care and Will was absolutely amazing with my nervousness and with my lovely girls nervy nature. I couldn't have been happier and I plan to travel with them again. I can highly recommend them.
I highly recommend this company. I just endured an incredibly stressful and long importation process into Europe and finally into the UK with my 3 med/large breed dogs. CFourPaws went above and beyond to help me logistically with things they really didn't have to and was outside of their services. Provided much needed emotional support and were empathetic to my unforeseen financial costs. Really without people like Keith and Greig, I may have crumbled under the stress of it all. BIg animal lovers, BIG hearts and can't fault them. Thanks CFourPaws x
I have been bringing my dogs here for a few years now. They are always happy to come back and I love that the kennels share photos with you of your pets. The drop-off was very useful
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. In a medical emergency you were the first kennels we found after literally 100's of phone calls with spare capacity to take Casper while his mum had an emergency operation to remove a brain tumour. The 10x photo's you sent us showing him happy & thoroughly enjoying a run in the secure field were a huge relief to his dad & a massive boost to his mum's immediate recovery.
We recently used C Four Paws to transport our dog Adi from Glasgow to Heathrow for her trip home to Canada. David was a very kind and professional driver and got us to the Kennel at Heathrow on time in spite of some unavoidable traffic delays along the way. We’re back home with Adeline safe and sound and are very grateful for having used the services of your company and David for the first leg of our trip.
An absolute lifesaver when it came to transporting me and my cats from Dublin to Somerset. There was fantastic communication the entire time during the booking process and our driver Clive was incredible! They made what was a very stressful move for me and my cats, a very easy time and I cannot thank Clive and the whole team enough.
