We couldn’t have been happier with Paw Quest Petcare. They looked after our 3 cats (with behavioural issues and requiring medication) and our gecko for two weeks, and when we returned the house looked great, and our creature family seemed relaxed and happy. I loved getting pictures and updates with every visit. Adam, Brittany, and the rest of the team did an amazing job. I highly recommend them. They were amazing! I’ve attached some of the lovely photos we received. If you’re on the fence, hire them - you won’t regret it.

They took care of my diabetic cat with twice daily shots for five days. One of the owners met with me before a trip and gave all the details I needed to feel confidant with their service. Each day I was provided with pictures and updates of the services they did that visit. They were accommodating to my pets schedule and always did extra with their time, such as grooming or cleaning. The owner even recommended a shorter visit with a lesser fee than what I had expected. From start to finish the experience was excellent. I would definitely use the service again and would recommend their service to other pet owners.

Had a great experience with Paw Quest recently after they looked after our sweet cat, Angus. They provided timely updates and photos while we were away. We loved how streamlined everything was; from creating an online profile with detailed instructions to easy online payments and scheduling. Paw Quest Petcare is my go-to for anytime we go away and we need reliable and knowledgeable people to look after our two cats. Our fur babies can be pretty needy for human company and attention, but Brittany, Adam, and the whole Paw Quest team are absolutely incredible in the care they provide. It is clear how devoted the whole team is, and how much they love animals, as they treat your pets like family. While we are away, we are provided with updates and photos of how the day went and it always warms my heart to see how much love and attention our girls get. The app they have also makes scheduling visits super easy. If you are planning on going away and can't bring your fur babies with you, don't hesitate to contact Paw Quest Petcare. It's the best decision you can make and gives you the ease of mind knowing your pets will be showered with love while you are away.

We cannot recommend PawQuest highly enough! They are an incredible team of knowledgeable and caring individuals who provided the best care to our family’s four dogs for over 12 hours on our wedding day. Ashley was so kind and helpful— she made sure all of the dogs had everything they needed, including administering medicine and spending quality time with each pet (she even went above and beyond to set up scavenger hunts to keep the dogs entertained!). We will definitely be using PawQuest services in the future! 🐶

We have used Paw Quest twice so far and have had wonderful, stress-free experiences each time. Paw Quest's professional staff went out of their way to make sure our two cats were well looked after in the comfort of our own home. They had ample food, water and tickles and kept us abreast with daily photos of our cats. They also went as far as changing the kitty litter and even cleaning up around it which is amazing service. We are very grateful for this excellent service and will be using them again for future vacations!

Paw Quest is a great company! I went away for 2 weeks and they looked after my bunny and cat. They were absolutely fantastic and I will be using them again in the future. I booked paw quest to take care of my black lab Clyde on my wedding day and Ashley did an amazing job. It was raining all day and she had him out for hours on walks and playing. He was a tired boy when we got home. I highly recommend and hope they start to offer more services in the Truro area. I would definitely have them look after Clyde again!

Bader and golden paws are a great doggy daycare! Our dog Freddy has gone there for 2 years and we’ve only ever had positive experiences. When my dog has been sick or undergoing surgery he has called and texted to check on him. Always sad to look at comments that are unfounded from people who are willing to take their dogs to Big companies like JT (they gave our dog kennel cough) or dog walkers who charge an arm and a leg and do the bare minimum, and slander a small immigrant business. Shame on you! Freddy will continue to go to GP and if you are looking for excellent care you should consider sending your dog there too!

we started attending golden paws about 2 months ago and bader has been very nice and a pleasure to work with. my dog Mela has loved attending the group walks and always happy to see him.

My two dogs Bentley & Gally haven been coming to golden paws for 3 years now. Bentley is a rescue and was a very timid dog the first year coming here and after lots of visit he now runs in every time. He is able to run around with other dogs and enjoy the company of his regular friends

My golden retriever loves the doggy daycare at Golden Paws. She's been going for over 18 months from being a small pup and is very well taken care of. She interacts great with the other dogs there and always comes back happy and tired. I love the photos from their activities that are posted - you can see how happy all the dogs are in them. Photo is of my dog - just one of many from her adventures with Golden Paws. I would totally recommend Golden Paws 100%.

We would highly recommend Golden Paws HFX for so many reasons! First and foremost our dog is very well cared for. He loves going for walks with his puppy pals and comes home well exercised and socialized. He has learned to listen and follow commands better and when he has boarded there the experience is just like home and catered to his needs. Finn is a super fan of Golden Paws HFX!

The second time I picked my puppy up she bolted out of the house terrified. She barely made it out of the door way before she started peeing all the way down the stairs. It's all well and good if you felt your dog has always had a good time there, but if all you care about is that your dog is well looked after, you're completely dismissing all these poor dogs that seem to be neglected, abused, and traumatized. If it can happen to our dog, it can happen to yours. Maybe a small business owner should have stayed small and not bit off more than they could chew. Edited to add screenshots of one of the only days she attended daycare and came home with facial wounds which were played off as "play" - she had attended daycare and boarding and has never had this happen elsewhere. You may not remember me, but I'm sure you remember my dog. Eventually you're going to run out of friends to post positive reviews for you. Edited to add more- You mean the video you posted where my dog is clearly scared of you? Anyone with basic dog knowledge can see she's uncomfortable in those videos, it's embarrassing that you think this is "proof" of you treating dogs with compassion. Fear is not a motivator. Do better.

We had a deeply distressing experience using Golden Paws HFX for boarding from March 9-12, 2024. It was the first time we'd left our 8 month old Golden Retriever and we trusted all the five star reviews on Google. However, our experience could not have been more upsetting. It's a long story and we tried to post a link to it, but Google won't allow that. So in a nutshell, after a confusing tale about having taken our dog to Cape Breton without our permission which we found shocking, we believe the business owner actually left our dog alone at his house when HE went away. We discovered this only because we showed up much earlier than when he told us to come pick her up. We saw him arrive and he did not have dogs with him. We heard them barking in his house. We confronted him about this and he was unable to give us a reasonable explanation. Others who boarded their dogs during this same time are likely unaware of this situation as well. We have contacted the police and SPCA and are posting this so that you can make an informed decision about this business. Thank you for reading.

Golden paws is such an accommodating and dedicated doggy day care. My dogs are always exhausted when they come home and I am jealous of the scenic and fun hikes they get to explore everyday. Golden paws switches it up so they are always engaged in the new smells and surroundings.

He seems like a smooth talker with lots of knowledge, but in hindsight, there were some red flags we should have heeded. We had asked around and gotten lots of positive feedback from friends of friends who send their dogs there, and all of the positive reviews on socials helped ease my initial anxieties. He uses "balanced" training and in the beginning I thought that's why our pup was timid, as we had only used positive training. I suspect the "balance" he uses is further on the abusive end of the spectrum than appropriate or acceptable. We sent our rescue pup there a handful of times and every time she left she was progressively more and more scared- fearful to the point of absolute stiffness and incontinence. There were rarely any photos of our dog on the few days we sent her, and when we inquired about this, we were matched with bizarre stories that weren't logical. The final day we brought her, she was so upset going that I knew something was off and called my husband to go get her ASAP. That day there were plenty of photos/videos of her spending time with him. We never brought her back and ever since she's been scared of men or anyone going near her harness. If you're considering sending your dog here, be mindful and vigilant when doing so. *Edited to add: yes, it's been a while since we've sent our pup here. We had an off feeling but never wanted to report as we knew we were never going to return and didn't want the conflict as our attention had now shifted to reconditioning our puppy. However, we recently just came into information where others have sent their dogs after reading positive Google reviews and have also had a negative experience. So, we thought it only fair to add our story as there may be a chance to mitigate any further harm. There are no accusations in our review, there is only a description of our experience and suspicions as we do not have tangible proof; we only have a dog that has been forever changed since attending goldenpaws, and a caution to those who are considering the same.

We have been taking our dog here for 7 months and we have never had a bad experience here. During drop off my dog runs in and is always excited. Our dog was never a off leash dog and now he is, we did alot of work to get our dog where he is now and we cant be happier. Our dog is also now. E-collar trained and it changed our life. Theodor loves it here. The staff treat my dog like their own which I so appreciate. They are all so friendly and Theodor can’t wait to go. He comes home exhausted and happy. I don’t trust just anyone with my dog, and the staff at Ace It are great at communicating through out the day if needed. I can’t say enough great things about the staff and their love of my dog. This crew is the best in the city for sure. I love the daily photos they post and all the theme parties.

An incredible doggy daycare. My pup absolutely loves it and when he realizes where we're going in the morning he loses his little mind. They post daily pictures of all the dogs and we love going through them and seeing all the dogs having a great time. The people are super nice and take great care of the dogs. We never worry about our pup for even a moment when he's there for the day.

Cannot express how happy We are with Ace it, our golden retriever runs to the door to get into daycare as fast as he can. When you walk in there is always someone smiling and happy to greet you. Our boy is always worn out and happy when we pick him up from daycare. Thanks for providing quality service!

We ended up coming to Ace It because the daycare close to my workplace was full. They weren't our first choice because they're a bit out of the way. I am so glad that happened. My boys are treated so well there and after just a few weeks of once a week daycare days, the whole family has noticed a change in their behavior. They seem calmer and happier. My husky even started listening better with his recall training going smoother than ever... I can tell they love it there because they both lose their minds with excitement when I pull into the driveway. Maybe they're so calm because everything else is boring in comparison 😅. Ace It even has a leash spot with their photo on the wall. It's adorable and shows they take caring about your fur baby to the next level.

If you own a dog and want your dog to have a better life, then this place is for you and your pup. Your pup will have two families. Your family and the huge loving family at ace it, pack and people included

We have been taking our German Shepherd here for quite a while. The staff genuinely care for their fur clients. They post pictures of the animals quite frequently. The animals receive Christmas Presents and other goodies. A great facility if you're looking for someplace to look after your fur family.

I cannot recommend Ace It Canine Acadmey enough! I have been taking my 2 dogs to day care at Ace It since they opened a year ago and they both love it (there is nothing like "doggie daycare tired" at the end of the day). Most recently, I boarded them with Taylor for a week while we were away. When I came to pick them up, I they were torn between coming back home with me, or staying there. Taylor (and Brooke's) knowlege of animal behaviour is second to none. These 2 women (and their team) go above an beyond for all of the dogs they look after, and those that receive training at the facility. I have recommeded Ace It to many friends for their dogs and they feel the same. The fact that they are a 5 minute drive from my house doesn't hurt either. Being an successful entrepreneur in your 20's is a fabulous achievement! Keep up the great work!!!

Very nice people! Never had my dog there, but when we did work there on very short notice to help them out . They were so great full. Glad we could help out with keeping the dogs in a nice safe play space .

I just moved to Halifax and was worried that I m not able to find a good daycare for my small Shih Tzu but Petite Urban Pooch has been perfect place for my doggo. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and can connect in a timely manner. Safe and fun environment highly recommend!

I can't begin to tell you about the total love that Cindy and Nik show for our Max. It was so hard to leave him for two weeks but they took such amazing care of him - sending us lots of pics and notes to tell us how Max was doing. He was out with them, everywhere they went - and got lots of love and attention - and yes - sleeping in the bed. He loved his slumber pawty with Bella and Blue. Because Max is wee, they are very conscious of when play time is too much for him - making sure that he has his quiet time too. We're so lucky to have such amazing people taking care of our boy.

Did a great job on the cut the first visit, groomer was really friendly, price was really fair, and my dog was really happy leaving. I am disappointed with their customer service on my appointments following as it was really unprofessional. My father booked an appointment and they never answered to confirm the appointment and so he didn't go. After that because I had such a great experience I myself and my dads dogs for a cut thinking it was a one off. When we tried to call the day prior to confirm again she hadn't answer. We thought they were busy and if anything was different they would let us know so we went. When I got to the appointment the groomer wasn't even there. No one had called or tried to contact either of us though they had our emails and number. There was no reason for the cancellation given other than the groomer wasn't there. Disappointed because it was a good experience the first time.

My dog Penny is an older dog and a rescue. She is very timid, and just cant handle being around big dogs if they are playing so i was so thankful to find Petite Urban Pooch. I feel safe leaving her with Morgan and her staff. I send her once a week to get her out socializing with other dogs and i have seen a big difference in her since going. She gets super excited when we get out of the car and realizes she is going to PUP. :) The doggy socials are also really great time for you and your dog to meet new friends. Plus if there are puppies at the social, would doesn't want to cuddle with puppies :)

We travelled down from Sydney for an unexpected visit to the VG for tests with future surgery in the plans. Of course we brought our dog and had heard of Dogtopia. They have been nothing but wonderful, accommodating, and very caring/loving of our pet! I felt relieved that she was being looked after and cared for as we would. She came home to our hotel every night happy and exhausted - just how a dog should be! Thank you Dogtopia, we will continue to support you and highly recommend to anyone with pet daycare needs in Halifax!!!

100000% would recommend sending your doggos here for daycare. My pup just started going to get more socialized/ get energy out while I’m at work & she is in love!!! Runs through the doors every time so excited to be there. It is her first daycare experience which has been over the moon. Having separate rooms for different sizes of dogs also is amazing as I know my pup isn’t being too overwhelmed. As a single doggo parent Dogtopia has been life changing for me. Staff are always there to greet/ chat with you about your doggo’s day and genuinely care about the dogs. My pup is definitely spoiled there & it shows!! Location is also super convenient, close to downtown and right by the bus stop which makes drop off/ pick up that much easier and can check in on the live webcams they have Thankful for Dogtopia and all the love they give Nova when she is there!

Great attitude with a positive development atmosphere for my Golden. She is so excited when she comes into Dogtopia and leaves with such a smile. She loves every minute. I strongly recommend Dogtopia and thank the management and staff for giving my pup such a great learning environment to learn and thrive. We haven't tried Dogtopia yet, but we checked out the area today. What an amazing little Cul-De-Sac that this place is on! A great place to sit with your dog in the shade and right next to the "Brown Hound" restaurant! Ironic, right :-) A hidden jem of and area!

I stopped in here to get some information of their services and WOW was I ever impressed. The manager was extremely knowledgeable on dogs and explained their meet & greet policy, grooming services, daycare costs, etc. She showed me around the front area as well as the webcams with all the rooms with different dog sizes and temperaments. I brought my dog back a few days later for a nail trim and they exceeded my expectations once again. Looking forward to taking my dog back for another spa treatment!

I had my dog Howard assessed at Dogtopia Halifax after having a bad experience at another local dog daycare. I was feeling very nervous about how the staff might react to my dog after being told previously that my dog had too much energy and wouldn't back down from other dogs by barking to continue playing when other low energy dogs were trying to settle. Although my dog has never showed aggression, even at the previous daycare, I was feeling slightly defeated that Howard might get denied from a second place solely due to being too energetic, a young Portuguese Water Dog, known to be high energy. After Howard and I met Brittany and the other staff members at Dogtopia, they reassured me that they could easily handle his energy and I was pleased to hear that they use tactics to train certain behaviors so that all the dogs can enjoy their experience. They also separate smaller/lower energy dogs and bigger/higher energy dogs so the issue I was previously having would not be a problem. I can't express how comfortable the staff made me feel after only having my dog there one time. I am looking forward to continuing to bring Howard to Dogtopia and find it comforting that I can check in on him during the day on the cameras.

We love Dogtopia. We've had a great experience. My dog was nervous about day care but the staff was very understanding and took it slow. He loves it now. I love how you can check in during the day on the cameras. The staff are all so friendly and it's clear they love dogs.

I love the webcams! Our dog is very anxious, and we worry sometimes when we need to leave her. The livestream lets us make sure she's doing okay. The dogs all get attention when they want it, and even my old dog who doesn't play has fun. I would highly recommend Dogtopia, no matter what kind of dog you have.

Yoko loves going to daycare. She SPRINTS into the building. The staff are friendly and the groomer does an amazing job on her nail trims! I feel at ease leaving her there when I go to work.

We were travelling through Halifax and wanted to take our kiddos to the museum. The team at Dogtopia arranged a meet and greet and welcomed our black lab with open arms within short notice! We were so impressed with their professionalism, flexibility, and kindness. Our doggo spent a few hours and had a great time!

We have been taking our 2 year old lab Lily to HFX DOG since it opened in the fall 2016...and she absolutely loves it ! As soon as we drive up to the building she starts whining in anticipation of getting inside and having a play day with some furry friends. The indoor and outdoor play areas are huge and you can tell by all the pics and videos posted daily on the HFX DOG social media sites ( Facebook & Instagram ) that the dogs are having a great time . The HFX DOG co-owners Jill MacDonald & Tori Jobin are awesome ....and I am so glad they have opened this great facility in the south end of Halifax !

Our pup loves HFX Dog and so do we. Easy online booking for full or half days after a complementary half day assessment at the facility. Easy drop off and pick up, with social media posts during the day of what the dogs are up to. Staff are friendly, welcoming and always give feedback at the end of the day to keep the owners informed of how the dogs are doing.

Our dog Midas absolutely adores this place. He always has a great time and comes home pooped! Best dog daycare in they city! I really appreciate the fact that they allowed unaltered puppies instead of blacklisting them well before their are due to be fixed. Midas health safety and happiness are always in mind, and has both indoor and outdoor play. The staff are amazing!

Always friendly and very caring. We have tried a few other places in the city (both Hfx and Dartmouth). Dogs/Staff ratio is well balanced. This is one of the rare spots downtown that you get both indoor and outdoor play areas, and the slides/pool in the summer :) My dog fell in love with this place since day 1, wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

HFX DOG takes fantastic care of my dog. They give him lots of attention and give me an update at every pickup.

I’ve been a client of HFX Dog for over 3 years and I will not put my dog in any other daycare. The staff are very professional and friendly. The service provided is exceptional. I have a 5 year old lab who always gets excited when Jill/Tori come to the house to pick her up and take her to her favourite place. The staff are quick to respond to emails. At the start of the current world pandemic, I was concerned that the daycare would be closed, even though I was home and not working. Thankfully, they remained open and operated on reduced hours. The two women that own the daycare are very professional and organized. I also appreciate their promptness when it comes to the shuttle service they provide for their clients (dogs). I know there are cheaper daycares in the HRM, but the quality of the actual facility is worth the price. The spacious property is kept clean and the dogs are always happy. If you are concerned that you have a high maintenance dog, or a dog that has a lot of attitude (I used to have a husky/shepherd that had a lot of attitude and went to HFX Dog), the staff will make sure to accommodate any reasonable requests you have. I used to have 2 dogs that went to the daycare and 1 of them needed to be separated once she was dropped off at home. HFX Dog employees made sure to put my older dog in a separate room away from the younger one. Please take the time to check out the facility and ask lots of questions. This is a great local company with caring employees who will take look after your dogs as if they were one of their own.

Our little Gracie loves daycare and when she was a pup they helped us with extra walks while we were at work - even our neighbours told us how good they were with her - and we didn’t even ask! We recommend them to everyone with a dog! I also love all the photos on Instagram of her while she is there :)

I wish I could give them more stars! This our boy’s favourite place to be. The staff is amazing, they base approval on the dog not the breed or other factors. Unlike some daycares (Jollytails *cough*) they support the science behind not altering juvenile puppies. They also support all types of feeding schedules and types (including raw). They post throughout the day on their Instagram (@hfxdog) so you can keep up on all the fun your dog is having. Get ready for your dog to make some new friends, four legged and two!

Tori and Jill having been walking my dogs since they originally started their business six years ago. I can't say enough for the professional, friendly and loving service that they give our dogs. Cathy is phenomenal. We are busy people who got a puppy and needed help with checks during the day as well as advice on training. Cathy was an incredible support and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants it all! She took such good care of our dog while we were at work, walking him, cuddling him and took pictures for us along the way. I would hire her again in a heartbeat as well as enrol our dog in her walking program. If we need to board him in the future, we will go to Cathy. Thank you, Cathy!!!

We have worked with Cathy and her team for almost a year and the care (daily walks) provided to our dog has been first rate. I travel frequently for business and my schedule is somewhat unpredictable but Cathy can always accommodate which is an important driver and why we continue to go with A Dog's Day. Compared to others, the rate is very competitive given the care and the flexibility of the service. The walkers are always friendly and on time.

Had a wonderful experience with Cathy and her son helping to take care of my puppy while I was working. They were very responsive to communication, kept me updated with photos, and were very prompt and reliable. Rates very reasonable. Will absolutely be contacting them again for help when I get a second pup!
