Alex is the best doggie trainer and he treats my dog like family. I wanted to get her trained up as a puppy and he learned her mannerisms to understand her trouble areas. He offers group walk training in local neighborhoods or more crowded areas to help dogs get accustomed to noises people and other dogs. He also does one on one training and has helped watch my dog when I was on work trip. He's so good with her and he has his own dog, which is her new bestie.

Alex is fantastic with dogs. I have a German Shepard and Collie mix. My German Shepard had a bad habit of jumping on people and Alex was able to stop that behavior. He was very good in handling both my dogs. My Shepard has been with Alex since he was a pup and he’s very good with people and when he goes on his walks with other dogs. This is the long overdue review for Alex. I have been struggling with the reactivity of my three pomeranians for a long time. I had tried group classes, private lessons, and online resources, but I didn't see any significant changes. When I contacted Alex, he invited me to join the group walk where my girls could get exposure to other dogs and strangers. The group walk provides a controlled environment where they can learn appropriate behaviors and build their confidence. Alex is there to correct the inappropriate behaviors of dogs and educate us on how we can improve things. His method works, and I am already seeing improvements. The girls are not perfect yet, but they are on the right track. P.S. Not only Alex, but also the group is wonderful. They are very kind and understanding. I can’t recommend Commonwealth Pet Care enough! I’ve worked with Alex over the past several months training my puppy, Willow. He is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. He provides immediate feedback and demonstrates what to do to properly train a dog. He also provides written instructions to reference when I’m training her. Willow has made immense progress on her areas of concern and has mastered basic commands. We have attended group walk and train sessions as well which are wonderful for socializing her as well. I highly recommend Commonwealth Pet Care.

We've been working with Alex for going on 2 years this fall. He is a wonderful trainer and really works with you to help focus on areas of concern. We started when our dog was a puppy and she naturallt has a very nervous temperament and Alex has really helped us get her socialized well so that she is great around other people and she's getting ok around other dogs. We'll keep up the training with him until her confidence with other dogs is really built up. You can tell he really cares about the dogs he works with. We have also used him for boarding and had a good experience. Definitely highly recommend!!

Alex has been great with both of our dogs! He both trains and boards our dogs. He has been fantastic with our 1-year-old rambunctious big puppy in getting behavioral skills and basic training, as well as our anxious and high-need 14-year-old small dog. He is patient, communicative, and easy to work with. We are grateful we have found him!

Alex helped us with our fearful foster pup Josie in the Fall of 2022. He gave us practical and useful documentation so that we could gain the skills to help Josie succeed. We met with Alex at least once a week for several months for hands-on training, which helped Josie become more accepting of new surroundings and people. With Alex’s assistance Josie’s fears decreased and she was able to be adopted by a wonderful and patient family that vowed to continue her training. Josie is thriving today thanks to Alex’s training.

We came to Commonwealth Pet Care from a recommendation from our vet. Our pup Stella was extremely fearful of people and other dogs and we were afraid this fear would lead to aggression. From the first “meet and greet” with Alex we knew we had found a great trainer for Stella. Alex was extremely professional and knowledgeable from the beginning. He identified Stella’s needs right away. Alex worked around our schedule and was very accommodating. Through Alex’s classical conditioning techniques Stella has become a confident and secure pup who loves to meet new people and other dogs. We have seen such a huge improvement in her behavior in such a short amount of time. We strongly recommend Alex to anyone looking for an experienced, compassionate and kind trainer. We will not hesitate to use Alex again in the future.

Alex is INCREDIBLE! He’s been working with us and our puppy Roxy for a few months and we can see a drastic improvement in our rambunctious dogs behavior. One thing I really appreciate about Alex is that you can tell he genuinely really loves and cares for each of the dogs he trains. He’s extremely personable and we like his method of training (positive reinforcement). His dog Apache has also been such a positive influence for Roxy and has helped her learn how to play appropriately and control her puppy biting. He’s also helped us connect with other new dog owners in the area to coordinate walks and puppy play dates (which has been difficult due to COVID). He’ll reach out to my husband and I during the week to check on Roxy’s progress and is easy to reach if we have questions. Alex is amazing and you’re doing yourself and your dog a disservice if you don’t use him to train you dog!

We have been using All Breeds for many years now and they are fantastic. David abs Eric are amazing with our girl and take great care of her! They send detailed reports after each walk and pics, which make my day! We highly recommend them, if you've been looking for a reliable dog/pet sitter you have found them! Eric and Owen have been giving my boys mid-day breaks for a few months. I always get reports about how the visits go and what they did with the boys. They also bring in my too frequent packages from the porch. My job and life seem a bit chaotic at times, but Eric always finds a way to accommodate my crazy schedule, even last minute changes. And this great service comes at very reasonable rates. I highly recommend All Breeds Dog Walking!!

Really can’t say enough about All Breeds. I was having such a difficult time finding a dog walker in our budget and one who was also flexible. My husband and I both work in customer service and our schedules tend to be all over the place. All Breeds allowed us the flexibility to switch days when needed, even if it was a last minute change, and have always done their best to come at the time we requested. Our dog has had three different walkers and each of them have been so amazing with our girl and you can tell they care very much about the pets!

We have been using All Breeds as both a dog walking service and a pet sitter for the past 2 years. I cannot say enough good things about this service. When we started with them we were just coming out of a bad experience with a different pet sitter and really needed to find another reliable company very quickly. All Breeds did not disappoint. They showed up to meet our little zoo, consisting of three cats and two dogs, the day after we called and started almost immediately. The dogs loved going on walks with Barbara and Maria. And when we traveled and used All Breeds to pet sit our cats, we always knew they were in good hands. The cats were happy, plants were watered, and the mail was brought in. Barbara and Maria always provided photos after each service which was a really nice personal touch. We are moving out of town and I sure hope we can find a company as good as All Breeds at our new location.

We went out of town for a long weekend and left our senior cat at home. Land and Sea Pet Care was amazing. If I could give more stars, I would! Aimee was very tentative to our cat and even brought mail in and ensured lights were kept on for him. She is also incredibly kind, along with her husband! Aimee watched my elderly cat (23) for over a week and did a great job. She is very accommodating to you and all of your pet’s needs. I highly recommend Land and Sea Pet Care. I used them for cat sitting when I was new to the area and didn't know anyone - they were recommended by the local moms group. I was blown away by their communication, responsiveness, and care. Each day while I was out of town, my cats got food, water, and a clean litter box, but they also got attention, brushing, playing, and a significant amount of visiting time. Both Aimee and Nancy took care of my cats, and were even able to give medication to a notoriously difficult cat! Not to mention the fact that their prices are extremely reasonable. I will definitely be using them again the next time I go out of town!

Peace of Mind K9 is the absolute best! It is like a second home to our dog Benny. When I found them, he was just a puppy and I spent time doing consultations with multiple local trainers. As soon as I met Heather with POMK9, I knew she was the one. Her love for the dogs is so obvious, and it trickles down through the whole POMK9 staff. There is nothing better than knowing your dog is safe, loved, and properly cared for when you are away. They provide excellent training services to really teach your dog to be successful in a positive way. Benny is so excited every time he knows we are close, and he is SO well behaved with the POMK9 training and guidance. Not only do they provide training for your dog, but they teach the owner how to effectively take that training home and keep it going. I love that they provide training, daycare, and boarding so that we can go to them for all of our needs and our dog is comfortable. Their property is amazing and the dogs get tons of the outside playtime that they need to thrive. We are so thankful for POMK9 and can't recommend them enough!

This is the best place for doggy daycare and training! My puppy is my baby but she used to be a bit of a menace. We spoke to Heather about our concerns and difficulties and it is incredible the change our puppy went through after just a few weeks of daycare and training. Now it has been months that our dog has been going to Peace of Mind K9 and people don't even believe me when I tell them how our puppy used to be. Heather and her crew have truly been a lifesaver and they're the only ones I trust with my dog!

I can’t begin to explain how much the training our young dog received from Peace of Mind K9 has changed his and our lives. E-collar training has given all of us the freedom for him to play in open spaces and Heather and her team helped us build confidence in using commands that he follows perfectly. This is THE place to take your pup for daycare or a vacation. Our dog is always so happy to go and has a blast when he’s there. He gets AMAZING attention and we get videos to see him playing with other dogs. We have full confidence in POMK9. He was trained by POMK9 as a puppy and this made him a confident and obedient dog. We need a pet sitter for our two dogs for our holiday vacation and found Gabriela (owner) and her Burke Centre Pet Sitting company on line. We contacted her through email and got a quick response and she did a very thorough and complete consult to ensure our needs were met by her and her team. We met a few days before our departure which was day after Christmas. Within two days of our consult, one of our dogs became ill and had to be hospitalized during Christmas Eve due to reaction to a pain medication and was discharged Christmas Day. We contemplated canceling our vacation but didn’t and relied on Gabriela and her team to take care of our dog while she recovered (slowly). She needed medications, extra attention, as well as taking care of another dog while we were away for 5 days. We almost canceled our trip but glad we didn’t as Burke Center Pet Sitting took care of our fukids and helped our sick one recover during our absence. They communicated every day, checked in our dogs multiple times a day, dispensed medications, and cleaned up after a sick dog. Within the first day we were confident we made the right decision. I can go on about how great Burke Centre Pet Sitting is but the simplest way to put it is we put in their hands a dog that was hospitalized Christmas Eve and they were able to take care of her and make us comfortable to enjoy our vacation. Our dog Jack, loves Gabriella and Erin! From the minute we met them he was affectionate with them and he's not like that with everyone! My husband says they speak dog. It's true!! Erin cared for Jack for 10 days while we were away and he was so happy and content with her which was such a blessing! Jack can be a bit of a challenge to get outside when we're away, but they had no problems!! Our neighbors raved about the time and attention Erin have him in our absence! I have used this company for two years for pet sitting at my home. We have an older Golden Retriever named Max. Our main pet sitter is a college student named Chris who is so great with dogs. He has watched our dog for as long as two weeks. Chris is excellent about keeping us up to date via txt messages and photos. We first learned about this company when we moved to Burke, and the military family we were renting a house from ( we are retired military but are now working for the government ) gave us a business card from this company. They told us that this company was the best dog walking / sitting company in Burke. Meet Meadow, she's a 6 month old German Shepherd! We have been very pleased with our training lessons with Meaghan at OTP-Springfield. We really appreciate her philosophy of understanding your dog's intrinsic nature, respecting that and working in such as way that brings harmony for human and dog. In one of the photos you can see a shoulder leash. Meaghan recommended after discussing my challenge of teaching a strong puppy not to pull. I appreciated the kinder approach. Meadow and I highly recommend Meaghan!

We love Old Town Pet Resort! Our girls Eve and Belle are frequent customers and they have been most helpful. A great staff that is always friendly and helpful from Management to Day Camp and in between! Great trading by Megan Martin who has transformed a lil young mix breed rescue Belle into a proper princess (most of the time), and always works with our diva Eve. She has also started working on Grace, a mix we hope to adopt out soon! (Date 08/07/24)

We LOVE Olde Towne Pet Resort (Springfield). OTP is my pet’s home away from home and they treat her so so so well! I have 100% trust that they’ll take the best care of my cat while she’s in boarding. My cat is blind so she requires special accommodations she needs when boarding and the OTP family makes sure she gets what she needs during her stay and makes sure she is in an accessible set up. They even send pictures during her stay - which is so helpful to alleviate any stress in my mind while I’m away. Absolutely LOVE OTP and wish there were one in EVERY city!

Olde Towne Pet Resort has been my go to for grooming and boarding for my fur baby. They listen to my grooming needs for her. There was a day that she came back with a yellow stain on all of her paws. I think it was a topical they use to trim her nails and I thought that was strange. However, after mentioning that the first time, I haven’t seen that happen every time I’ve brought her back since. Grooming is weight based and breed/needs based. I have a 8-10lb Scottish fold and pay about $74. A little pricey but we don’t go often. Boarding is great and I love that we are able to video in to see her. I wish they would let her out a little more often but I understand they have many boarders at a time. They definitely take good care of her though and I see how patient the staff are with her. Also, they send photos of her to us every day during boarding which my husband and I truly appreciate.

After some less-than-stellar experiences with other pet hotels, our family decided to give this place a try and I’m really glad we did. The staff are exceptionally friendly and well-trained and our dog, Bowser, has always left this facility in a fairly good mood. The rooms that your pet stay in our specious and have webcams, so there’s zero guilt over leaving your furry friend here. The only small negative is that it does sometimes take a decent amount of time to check in and check out, but this can be mitigated if you arrive at non-peak hours. Really suggest you take your pet here for daycare and boarding if you can!

I am so grateful that we found Olde Towne Pet Resort. We relocated to the area for about 8 months and my two mini aussies loved it here. They went for daycare frequently and sometimes boarding and grooming. They loved all of the employees and were always tired when I picked them up. The groomer listened to exactly what we wanted and did an amazing job. When they stayed for boarding, I was happy I could view them on camera whenever I wanted to. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be trusting them with my boys.

This is my dogs’s favorite second home. For puppies or seasoned dogs, this is a great place for healthy interaction . He was trained here, all the staff is courteous to his needs, they day-camp feeds him his lunch that I prepare, and the staff is just kind and warm without hesitation. This is worth every dime and I breathe a sigh of relief that they will protect him, love him and treat him like in a love able way.

I recently visited Old Town Pet Resort for the first time to have my cat groomed, opting for the general grooming package. While the haircut was spot on and they followed my instructions perfectly, the overall experience was disappointing. It felt rushed, and they forgot to brush his fur, leaving bits of hair draft still in his coat. I don’t think they used any shampoo, and they missed trimming his nails. I also paid for a deep teeth cleaning, but that didn’t happen. Despite the good haircut, the rest of the service fell short.

We’ve been going to Olde Towne Springfield for a few years. Last year we started working with Megan, their in house trainer. Before having a baby, we wanted to make sure our dogs were fully trained and ready for the new family member. Megan created individualized plans for each dog and we started to work with her on a weekly basis and utilized the board & train option. Megan has been fantastic to work with, heard all of our needs, and helped get us as the owners more equipped to continue the training at home. Since that board & train, we’ve remained in touch with Megan to ask questions and get advice. Our dogs still get very excited to see her and highly recommend Megan as a trainer!!

Golden Dog is by far the best boarding experience we have had since moving to the VA/ DC area. We have a high energy dog and an anxious dog and they love it here. It’s also conveniently not far from the airport. JG and his team are so communicative and caring. They send us pictures as well. We moved to DC and still use Golden Dog because of how much our dogs love it.

Golden Dog Hotel is the best boarding place we've found in the area! Our dog has been going here when we travel for nearly two years. In the past, we've had some not-so-great experiences at other facilities in the DMV, but I'm so glad we found this place. Our dog is always so excited to visit, and we get the cutest pictures of her when she's there. I highly recommend Golden Dog Hotel for quality care and great communication!

Our go to place for Max to stay for short (1 day) or long (12 days) boarding. The previous two places we used always seemed to require a vet visit after for stomach or infection issues, not at Golden Dog. Our little guy is always happy and healthy after we pick him up here. As a bonus they're also one of the more affordable options in the area.

I recently boarded my dog at Golden Dog Hotel for two weeks, and I couldn't be happier with their service. We have boarded our pup at Golden Dog Hotel 3 separate times now and have been very happy with their service. They have been kind and flexible with us when we had last minute changes in travel plans, they send updates and photos if you ask for them, and our pup is always happy and healthy when we pick him up, which is most important. I love that they only board a few dogs at a time, compared to the bigger boarding facilities in the area. I feel very comfortable sending my dog here and recommend it to everyone.

The Golden Dog Hotel is an excellent pet boarding service! We have been boarding our dog here for over a year now, and our stays having ranged from 1 night to 1 week, and we are always pleased with the care she receives! Whether there are other dogs to play with, or even if she’s alone, the staff make sure that our dog gets the attention she needs! The fenced in yard is wonderful, and the artificial grass is perfect! Overall an excellent pet boarding facility, which is accommodating to last minute requests even, on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, that provides great care and fun for your pet!

Our dog has stayed here multiple times and they are extremely flexible with drop off/pick up times, administered medicine when needed, send pictures and updates. Simply the best dog care in the area! We have tried several places until I found Golden Dog, now we trust them with our beloved dog every time we need to go away. Erika and team are great in taking care of our super crazy pup. They love dogs and you can tell, they really care about them. Erika and her husband are great! I love taking my dog here. It’s affordable and he actually likes going! Last time I dropped him off he forgot about me and RAN to her. It was hysterical and it made me happy knowing that he feels comfortable! Great place to take your pups. She also sends pics and I love that added touch. I’ve used their services about 6 times now. Overall great experience.

Kellenberger Kennels is phenomenal. They take a keen interest in every pet. They sent us videos of our dog showing us that he was happy and doing well. I highly recommend this kennel for their care, cleanliness, and interests in all the pets they board and take care of. I felt completely comfortable leaving my pet in their care.

This is absolutely the best kennel that I've found. It's a home away from home for our dog. Daily videos, clean fenced in yard. This is a home, not your typical kennel. Teri and Greg are very caring dog lovers.

My family has never found a place we were comfortable boarding our dogs. If we went somewhere that did not allow dogs someone would stay home. Kellenberger Kennels is the first place we have ever been comfortable leaving our pup. Our current dog, who is not a fan of other dogs, and has some medical issues, loves it there and Terri takes great care of her! I think she is sad to leave sometimes. The facilities and property are great and Terri is fabulous; communicative, helpful, and a genuinely nice person. We love the updates/photos/videos she sends! We have already recommended to family and friends!

I will offer perhaps a different approach in this review so please bear with me… My family has raised Cavalier Spaniels for over the last 20 years, and can attest to their “skillsets” as therapy dogs to those who need them the most. Needless to say, our dogs are not pets but members of our family sometimes outranking actual family members.. With all that being said, as a working professional in Northern Virginia trying to balance a chaotic schedule, I was concerned about finding quality care for my furry “ride or die” family member Cisco until I came across Kellenberger Kennels. Terri and Greg maintain an exceptional facility where all the dogs are well looked after, secure and in a low stress environment. I never had any worries about leaving my Cisco in Terri and Greg’s excellent care and they were always understanding to changing schedules as they tend to happen. I will always be grateful that we came across their wonderful family owned business and would give them 6 possibly even 7 stars if google would allow it😉

This place is the best. They have always been able to accommodate our dog Griffen. We have a little dog with a Large personality and Kellenberger has done a great job of keeping him safe and happy while we are away. They always communicate with us about upcoming reservations. They are accommodating with pick up and drop off times. They provide excellent care during the stay and provide us daily updates including photos and videos. In addition to boarding they have also helped us manage some of Griffen's " personality quirks " so that we can all have a peaceful and positive home-life. I highly reccomend this kennel for boarding and training guidance for your furry family members.

My pups have been going to Kellenberger kennels for the last 5 years. They love it there and pretty much think it’s their 2nd home. The facilities are clean and the owners provide a safe and calming environment for my babies. My husband and I don’t take are pups anywhere else when we go out of town. We also had our pups go through a few of the training courses they provide. The owners knowledge and love of dogs is impressive. I would give 10 stars if that was an option!

Great people, very easy to wotk with, and understanding of everyones schedules. Kennels are clean, video surveillance allows them to frequently check on all the dogs, and they send reports on the status of your pup. And great prices to go along with all that care, not sure you can ask for anything more. Highly recommend.

Our puppy, Teddy, loves it there! It is not close to us, but well worth the drive to know our dog is being well taken care of. They have a great space for dogs to run. It is a great value for travelers! They have a state of the art building to kennel the dogs. A great place and I highly recommend it!

When we board our dog, they accomodate all kinds of requests regarding food and exercise, and always provide updates while we are traveling (texts and photos). I have used Sierra Stroll off and on for 10 years for pet sitting usually. They have been consistently reliable, caring, dependable, and it is obvious they always look out for the best interests of their clients (people and pets). You can't go wrong relying on them for any type of care needed for your family pets whether short-term or long-term.

I trust the folks at Sierra Stroll to take good care of our cats. It is very reassuring for me to have someone to look after our space while we are away and, even more importantly, it is so much easier on our cats to be able to stay in their regular surroundings. The price is comparable to boarding, but it is so much less stressful for the cats. Similarly, because I know that I am working with professionals, I don't have to worry about whether or not my guidelines are being followed or if the pet sitter is going to know how to handle an emergency -- they absolutely do. I highly recommend getting a pet sitter and letting your animals stay in their own homes when you are away -- I think that Sierra Stroll is the best option for pet sitters in the area.

Sierra Stroll has been a God-send in the lives of our pets. Not only do they care deeply about your pet, they take into consideration their personalities, their food needs, and in general they just love them. We recently lost our beloved, Diesel, and before I could put up a post on FB the Sierra Team beat me to it, with a tribute that was heart-stopping. Separate from love and care, they respect my home and make sure they follow whatever instructions I've left for our pets. I've been using Sierra for more than 7 years and can't say enough just how wonderful they are. My daughter also gets their help with her crazy Jack Russell, Ace. Again, you can't go wrong with the Sierra Team. They are part of our extended family.

We've been very happy with Sierra Stroll for our dog-walking. Randi has been incredibly flexible with us; I've been out of town for graduate school and my husband's recently had an unpredictable work schedule, and Randi has always been able to meet our needs for daily dog-walking at the last minute. When we had those crazy derecho storms over the summer, my husband and I were out of town and we extremely concerned that we may have lost power and we considered returning early from our beach trip. Randi called us (despite many cellular services being down) and let us know that our power was on and that our dog was doing well, thankfully saving our trip.
