We feel like we’ve won the pet and house sitter lotto with Scott. Most importantly, he’s taken great care of our much loved little dog, giving him a lot of care, affection and attention. He paid close attention when Tingsha began scratching (allergy to an insect bite) which needed vet care, with great communication with us. He even took Tingsha to his agility school class each week (great fun had by all) and to get a groom. We’ve come home to a contented and very happy dog. The house is spotless, cleaner than we left it, with fresh flowers and the bed all made up. Perfect! We had regular contact with Scott all through our five week trip and being “fellow travellers” (in all senses) enjoyed sharing lots of local travel tips and experiences as we each visited new parts of the world. We were happy to lend Scott our car and he’s been great with it, super responsible. Scott is a really terrific guy and a fabulous journalist and story teller (you must listen to his podcast about his travels, it’s a cracker). In sharing our home and trusting our beloved dog with him, we feel like we’ve made a new friend along the way. We recommend Scott without any hesitation and thank him for a wonderful experience, we’d love him to come back and see us, anytime. Thanks a bunch!
Abi and David were FABULOUS pet sitters during our 5-day trip. They were devoted and fun dog walkers, park-goers and ball throwers. They communicated well and sent pictures. And when we got home, the house looked great, and the dogs looked calm. We would gladly have them. Sit for us again and highly recommend them.
Once again, having AnnaMarie take care of our pups was absolutely the right choice!! Her frequent updates, care of our house and fur babies was stellar! Although the dogs were thrilled to see us when we returned, as we chatted with Annemarie, we could see them continuing to go to her for affection and cuddles. It was so sweet to watch our one-year-old lick her ear and Annamarie just giggled and happily tolerated it. What a great sport😎. We would highly recommend her to anyone and would also suggest if you happen to see a less than perfect review for her ( there is only 1)I know the true story... it's unfortunate that some people are so unappreciative of someone who will go out of their way to care for their home and Pets (at no charge🙃🙃)-- it just boggles my mind and am confident they are not being honest! Suffice it to say she is a gem and perfect sitter in every way- if you can get a chance to book with her- do not hesitate! We truly think of her as part of our family now and all 5 of our pups would agree!
Monique was very nice and easy to schedule with. She sent us pictures of our dog Maisie while we were away, which we enjoyed seeing. Maisie was well cared for and had gotten plenty of exercise by the time we got home. The house was spotless, which was lovely to come home to! She had taken the trash and recycling bins out, even though we hadn’t mentioned them to her before we left. She made sure to let us know if anything was amiss so there were no surprises when we returned. Would definitely recommend her as a pet and house sitter for others. :)
Kelly and Chris are lovely people and we loved having them at the house! They were very engaged from the start, asking questions and wanting to know all the details on our pets. We were completely comfortable going away and didn’t worry during our trip knowing our kiddos were in such great hands. K & C gave us pics & updates as requested, and we loved seeing our pets have such a good time with them! They left the house in as good or better shake as it was found, laundering and folding linens and tidying up so well we could hardly tell they stayed here! They were communicative before the sit, during, and after. Kelly and Chris were the ideal sitters in every way. We’d welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to others. Thanks you two!
Rachel was an excellent pet sitter for my cat. She was a good communicator and also kept my place very tidy. She even left me a gift of a bar of chocolate upon her departure! Highly recommend.
Linda was an awesome pet sitter for my doggie Brodie! She gave him so much loving attention… he has some separation anxiety at 9 years old & she never left his side! She was so attentive to him & I am very grateful for that! Linda’s communication was also something I liked… we texted & chatted on the phone before her arrival & I felt very comfortable with her being in my home & with my dog. I could tell her number one reason to pet sit was her love for dogs & desire to be a wonderful companion for Brodie while I was away for the weekend! Would love to have her back anytime…
Duncan was an excellent pet sitter and looked after our old girl Cookie really well.
I have had 4 pet sitters this year so far. And Liz was the best! She was wonderful with cats. She has an easy going manner and is very comfortable to be around. Very smart and she is a great communicator. She followed all directions and left the house spotless. I highly, highly, highly recommend her! I would have her again anytime!
Heath spent a long weekend at my home taking great care of both dogs and the cat. He was able to help out on rather short notice, and I felt very comfortable leaving my pets in his care. Heath is friendly and reliable and left my home neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend him as a house/pet sitter for future assignments!

My Golden Pup Rose was very well taken care of while I was on holiday. She came back home the same happy dog as I left her. It was her first time boarding and she settled very well due to the excellent care provided for her. I got some nice updates about how she was getting on while I was away. Here's a screenshot from a video of her there, she looked so happy and her usual self. Recommend this service, and we will be back! Thank you.
My border collie always has a great experience here. The dog runs are always immaculate and they have plenty of space inside and outside to relax, plus walks and play time in the big garden! Swillyvalley are fortunately strict about having up to date vaccinations and boosters, plus the guests are boarded and entertained separately (unless they are from the same family and you want them to stick together) so my dog has never once come home ill. Lesley also sends video and message updates regularly, so you can have peace of mind while your best buddy is staying there. My dog loves to go and stay with her bestie Lesley and jumps out of the car to greet her as soon as we arrive for drop off!
I called Lesley in an absolute panic literally on the day I needed to board my two kitties, as the place I had originally booked let me down horribly. I was upset and shaken up and freaking out that I wouldn't find a place for my cats to stay before I had to fly out to the US the following morning. Lesley and her mother were so kind to me, helped me calm down, and worked very last minute to find a place for my two to stay. While I was away, Lesley gave me updates on how Gandalf and Dolly were doing and she sent me videos of each of them getting pets and eating their yummy food. it allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation without worrying that my kitties were in distress. I will 100% be going to Lesley again when I need someone to look after my babies. I honestly can't thank her enough for being so warm and accomodating. Highly, highly recommend! ❤️
Unfortunately after much consideration I feel I must leave this review. The after effects of my experience with SV are taking its toll on my sleep. My dog stayed here 1 night & a month later when I took him back, his paws were bleeding raw from scratching to get out of the enclosure. He couldn’t be walked for a week. The anxiety my dog has since 1 night in SwillyValley is upsetting. My dog is almost 2 & since his night here, refuses to sleep in his bedroom. He scratches & howls - he didn’t before. He has been riddled with anxiety since.. very vocal, crying, pining, nervous & v. needy. I’ve had to pay for medication to settle him. I regret not following my gut. When I asked to see where the dogs sleep I was refused, with some feeble excuse. You get what you pay for here. The enclosures are dirty & the water had hair in it. When my little one got home he was so parched he drank a full bowl in one go! Also, my dog growled at the woman which he has never done to anyone before. When collecting my pet, which is a few hundred yards away from a busy junction & industrial estate.. I was able to walk straight through the property & open his enclosure and take him. Good Luck. Update* Make no mistake, having used these kennels TWICE… just around the corner from the Letterkenny/Derry roundabout at Bridgend.. I’m 100% confident this is all correct. And I was able to walk straight through & collect my dog. Granted, the worker was in another kennel at the time & saw me as I waited in the garage to pay her. . . I’m assuming you aren’t able to self reflect & accept constructive criticism & I’m embarrassed for you in the way that you have responded. Folks… avoid!
Dogs always leave the kennels in wonderful condition and with a wagging tail, excited to see their owners. Each dog is seen as an individual and taken care of to the highest standard. Swillyvalley also have a cattery, my dog and cat have been at the kennels many times and they are always happy and content.
Discriminates against certain breeds without spending any time with them very judgemental although small dogs in her care were at the gate acting aggressively and felt intimidated for my own dogs.I would recommend a place where all dogs welcome and a loving enviroment for your babies
Discriminate against certain breeds and are very defensive if you leave a review they don't like.... They even tell people they must be talking about the wrong place when the get a bad review..... I messaged them b4 and after they sent me a rant they then blocked me. Iv heard not so great stories so I'm glad I didn't use them now.
My cat Bella has had many a holiday with Lesley at swillyvalley. Great facilities very welcoming.
My dog loves coming here he literally runs to his kennel when we leave him for his holidays. Mary and Lesley are great and I can relax and enjoy my breaks away knowing he is in safe hands.
