I would suggest people avoid at all costs. The owner "looks after" your pets/family by leaving them alone to bark all day and or night long. Last time it was for over 4 hours. Constant barking. Clearly an animal in need. The RSPCA have been notified for neglect. I hope the full weight of the law is exacted. Edit: Mavis, I will not contact you privately. This has been going on for years. I moved to Tarrant Monkton in 2001. The dogs you "look after" were, and are frequently left outside in all weather whilst you used to go out to the pub, (before you fell out with the Landlady) or out in general. Leaving them to bark at all hours until you return to them. I would be livid if you treated my dog this way. You are lucky so many people have given you leeway this long for living in the village. Being woken up at all hours, the peace of the village broke consistently for no reason other than your lack of commitment to those pets. My review is factual and others will confirm this. If you don't want bad reviews, don't act in a bad manner. ****AVOID**** Second Edit: Geraldine, perhaps you should come down from your home two villages away sometime and experience it first hand. If you doubt myself, please feel free to knock on doors in Tarrant Launceston and or Tarrant Monkton to ask for others experiences. Experiences not opinions. Unfortunately your ignorance is not an excuse. It is common knowledge that you and others including Mavis don't support the local pub, or charity events. Also that you and Mavis host nights involving the early hours and alcohol. . The drama surrounding a select few in the Tarrants could pose a threat to most "reality" TV programmes. As I have stated previously, bad reviews come from bad experiences. Not fiction. This concludes my review permanently and any further reviews you, or Mavis' other friends post. Mavis at Homestead Per Care has been lovingly looking after my “forever friends” for the past 15 years and I trust her explicitly. Be it for the odd day care whilst I’m working to weeks of boarding whilst I’m away, I’m absolutely confident that my dogs are being lovingly looked after. I could not recommend Mavis enough, both of my spaniels have adored her and can not wait to return!

Foggy has just returned from his wonderful Dorset holiday with Julie. He has had two lovely long walks every day and lots of attention - he returned fit and happy and we were able to relax on our holiday knowing that he was being well looked after all the time we were away. Foggy had a lovely space for his bed and we saw some super photos of him looking completely at home. Julie also sent us photos of Foggy out walking in the countryside with his new companions. Marlowe has been having holidays with Julie at Mucky Boots for the past two years. He loves his time with her as it involves long, interesting walks in the countryside or even sometimes at the beach. He also enjoys the company of Barney, Julie's dog and other friendly visitors. The frequent updates with photos of him having fun or just relaxing, reassure us that we're not the only ones on holiday! Julie's love and affection for her doggy visitors shines through. I'm so glad we found her!

Charlie stayed with Julie at Mucky Boots for a week. She had such a lovely time - a real holiday for her and the first time ever that I have been able to relax being away, knowing she was being so well looked after. The daily updates made me think she wouldn't want to come home! So nice for her to have company on walks with other lovely dogs. I would definitely recommend Mucky Boots for anyone looking for professional dog care in beautiful surroundings with someone who so obviously loves dogs.

Our lab retriever Oscar is always looked after superbly by Julie and her husband. They have a lovely comfortable environment for their doggie guests and Oscar comes back from his holiday fit, happy, content and exhausted. Julie cares deeply about every dog and her attention to their needs is wonderful. She also sends photos every couple of days showing your dog enjoying lovely Dorset walkies with furry friends. I can’t recommend Mucky Boots highly enough, we would be lost without them. Thank you Julie x

Such a lovely lady my dog loves it. Julie takes care to introduce dogs slowly and safely, they go on walks, play in the garden and have a happy time. Great she is local authority registered and insured too.

Bertie loves this place - I only have to say that Bertie is going on holiday to see Julie & Barney and he's at the car door without a backward look! He sends photos every other day on his walks with his doggie friends and comes home happy and exhausted. He would recommend Julie to everybody.

My JRT who has a few issues had a fantastic time here. Julie was wonderful she sent pictures during his day and I received a message afterwards to check on how he was once back home.

I contacted Jess as I needed a house sitter to look after my dogs, cats, chickens, hamster and bearded dragon! I have never had a house sitter before but Jess was amazing from start to finish. She got on so well with all the animals, including my reactive dog and they were well looked after. I was kept up to date with photos and felt like they were all in safe hands. Home was clean and tidy when I returned and I am ever so grateful for Jess. Made me want to go on holiday again and I will 100% book Jess once I start looking. Big thank you from all of us :) x

Lily & Rosco say they loved Paws and Klaws when they rented out a field they had so so much fun esp Lily as she cannot be let off as her recall is so bad so she made the most of every second! Lily and Rosco absolutely recommend it as it’s enclosed and safe with fabric up so the dogs can’t see anything through the fence it has lots of agility equipment in it and water bowl and lots of tennis balls to chase they can’t plant it and will be returning as soon as possible they are both tired out and sleeping! If would come every day if I could ! Absolutely fantastic !!! I cannot recommend enough! I hired the pool and it was incredible. Spare towels, plenty of balls, shelter if needed, a net to get toys out of the water, a ladder for accessibility for humans and even doggy planks for them to get out of the water! Amazing quality for price ! We brought our 5 dogs for £20 and a 50 minute session. Alex was incredibly helpful too so thank you very much!! I’ve booked for next month already!

Though it’s been over a year, I still feel strongly about what happened during my dog’s stay, so I wanted to share my experience. I had booked my Giant Schnauzer into Paws and Claws for a three-week stay while I was due to travel to Australia. After just one day, however, I received a call from the kennel informing me that my dog had bitten a staff member’s finger, and they insisted I collect him immediately despite my travel plans. Their website promises that pets will be 'cuddled, stroked, warm, loved, played with, and kept in utmost comfort throughout their stay,' but in my case, it seemed they were unprepared to handle a breed like a Giant Schnauzer. My dog has a protective nature and can be anxious around unfamiliar people. I believe that, due to this lack of understanding, a staff member was bitten while trying to photograph him. If you have a dog with an anxious or protective temperament, I recommend seeking a kennel with experience handling similar breeds. This experience was both stressful and disappointing, and I would advise others to be cautious if they own dogs with similar needs.

Booked to use the secure field so my younger pup could have some off lead fun with my older dog. Great facilities, dogs had a blast and loved all the agility equipment.

Amazing place for you dog, we used their day care when we travelled to Yeovil, and we were welcome very warmly! It was a first for Snow, and she did not want to go back home! Very highly recommended!

Took my boy, and my friends dog to paws n klaws today, my first time not theirs. We had an absolute blast. The staff were so beyond kind and helpful. The dogs had the beat time and so did we the pool was the perfect temp aswell during the heat. We can't wait to come back 🙌 …

Lyndsay is fantastic. I would highly recommend her. She has been looking after my Cats before she started her business. I trust her 100%. She was almost as sad as me when my cats sadly died and was excited to meet my little adoptee. She takes exceptional care of her, grooming and playing with her - and that all important feeding! I love the photos she sends through, always reassuring me that all is well. Crumble is always happy to see me when I get back but I know she’s in safe hands with Lyndsay. It makes going away possible as I know Crumble will get as much love and attention as I would give her were I there!

As a first time "puppy mummy", its quite daunting leaving your little fur baby with anyone else but having used Safe Hanns on many occasions over the last year, i will never use anyone else! Lyndsay and family are fantastic with our Labrador, Georgie and my mind is completely at ease when we go anywhere and cant take the pup. Whether its walks, playtime or just lots of cuddles, I can always guarantee that Georgie is always treated like a princess and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much and see you soon!!! Xx

Lindsay is an absolute god send ! We first started using Lindsay when I was heavily pregnant and my partner was working away . From the start my dog (reactive) took to her extremely well . She took all of our worries on board and now buddy is absolutely loving his 2 weekly walks . He waits at the door on the days she is due . We have pictures sent of him when they go for walks and always have a debrief of how he was on his walk . She always goes above and beyond her dog walking duties and has become a lovely friend xx

Lyndsay has looked after my cat, William, on more than one occasion, over the past year. She is a conscientious and caring person who understands animals very well. She is also very reliable and communicative - I really appreciated her reassuring updates whilst I was away. I would highly recommend Lyndsay and her service.

Lyndsay is incredibly professional and great with our dogs who each have their own quirks - one who doesn't like other dogs and one who chases after runners & bikes!! They love her & I always know that when she's out with them she gives them the utmost care. Regular updates via WhatsApp and helpful tips about how to stop our BFG from pulling you over! Hayley and her team have been amazing with our reactive Rottweiler Bella. They've really taken their time with her to help build some trust. They completely understood how stressed Bella gets meeting new people and dogs and have done everything to help her overcome her fears. It's still early days but we're taking Bella to day care at Dog Luv one day every month in the hope to build her confidence. So far she's doing really well and it's all thanks to the great team who truly luv dogs. Thanks all.

I can not recommend Dog Luv kennels highly enough. The owners and all of the staff are absolutely incredible, they are all so caring and they get to know the dogs and care for them as if they were their own. The kennels are always spotless and the facilities are fantastic with lots of space for the dogs to run around. You can rest assured that with Dog Luv, you are leaving your dog in a very safe, caring and happy environment, we would never take our dog anywhere else

Our dog is happy when dropped off there, and very lively when picked up, seems to tick all the boxes !!!

Unfortunately didn't like the service as the staff can't take a dog from the space where they sleep to area where they play without moaning. If your dog doesn't behave like a robot, they don't want it, honestly.

I picked up my chihuahua mix a couple hours ago, i had to leave her there for about 20 days. I cannot explain how happy i am with Hayley’s services. My dog came home clean, as well as her harness and beddings. She looked very comfortable and relaxed as we were picking her up which is really uncommon as my dog is quite snappy, anxious and aggressive towards strangers. Communication was amazing. While i was gone i received many pictures and videos of the dog, as well as frequent updates on how she is doing. Hayley doesn’t only tells you the things you’d like to hear, she is very honest and truthful, she’s also providing solutions to any occurring issues. Safe to say, i would a 100% recommend, they’re the best for a reason and i’d happily give a higher rating if i could. My dog is going to miss being around her.

We boarded our dog here for one day whilst on holiday. Our girl isn't very good around other dogs but as soon as the lady took control of her she settled immediately, even though there were other dogs around. I was very happy to leave her, her handler appeared very competent and Ruby looked really comfortable with her. Excellent care and service and great value (£12.50 for the day!) Highly recommended.

Great experience. Oscar’s first time in kennels, (at nine and a half), & we couldn’t help but worry. But there was no need. The people were lovely & Oscar came back happy. It was a real bonus seeing Oscar running around on Facebook while we were away. No hesitation in recommending.

Have used Debonair Dogs reguarly over the last 2 years. Debbie is always pleasant and is really good with my precious boys. The salon is kept clean and tidy and so is all the grooming equipment. I have had appointments at different times or the day and have seen the salon first thing in the morning and I've also been the last client of the day. Yes, later appointments there is dog hair bagged up from the days grooming as one would expect from a top groomer. I wouldn't take either of my dogs anywhere else.

First impressions when walking through the door is that the grooming parlour hasn't been cleaned in months. Surfaces were covered in thick dust, it smelt and there were piles of dog hair on the floor and a bin bag full of hair in the corner. The grooming table was dirty as were the grooming tools. If it hadn't been for the case that we desperately needed our dog to be groomed we would have walked straight out again and not left our dog to be clipped. On later inspection of my dog's coat it was very unevenly clipped and was not at all impressed. The owner though clearly very knowledgeable had a lecturing way of talking to you. Will NOT be returning again.

Tracy is a great help to us as a professional working couple. Being able to step in and walk our dogs, along with house sitting where necessary. She is trustworthy, attentive and a lovely person, being able to control our large, energetic dogs giving them not only the exercise they need but also reinforcing recall and obedience training. We have just returned from a weekend away to our contented dogs, a clean house and some beautiful flowers left in a vase. We value her services and thoroughly recommend her to others!

We used Aunty Muddy to take care of our two borders while we were getting married at Lulworth. They had a lovely time (as evidenced by photos and a diary of their exploits!) before coming over to take part in the wedding photos all dressed up in their new leads and collars. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. (Had a pre-wedding day walk so that the dogs could get used to Aunty Muddy - and her to them!) Thanks

My dogs have been part of the Muddy Gang for over 6 years! I can honestly say there not many people I trust with my pups, but I do trust Tracy. Both dogs adore their walks with Auntie Muddy and always come back with smiles on their faces! Absolutely love seeing the photos of them having fun with their friends - especially the boop shots! I couldn’t recommend Muddy Puddles highly enough.

Aunty Muddy is an wonderful cat sitter! We have used her several times to cat sit so that we have piece of mind while we are away knowing our cats are being looked after beautifully with lots of attention and cuddles, and she never just drops the food and leaves, she really does spend time with them! Invaluable!

Thank you so much for looking after Hugo so well at our wedding before, during the ceremony and after! As you know I was a bit nervous at the start as we've never had anyone look after him apart from family before but when I saw him doing all sort of tricks on the lawn in front of the castle that he doesn't do for us I knew he was absolutely fine! I loved having the photo updates throughout the day, it made me so happy to see him having such a fun time. Best ever dog boarding we have ever used. Our dogs love going there. Rose gives them all 100% love. Her home in clean fresh and a safe environment with good outside space. Dogs get plenty of walkies, and love the photos she posts daily on her F B page. You can leave your dog with Rose with confidence.

Rose and Jon took care of Sprocket on several occasion from small overnight visits to whole weeks when off on holiday. Sprocket was always looked after and Roses goes above and beyond. Highly recommended.
