Amanda was the perfect housesitter and pet sitter for our cat. She is organized and communicative, and took care to ensure she understood the guidelines for taking care of our home and our cat. She left our house in perfect condition and we returned home to one happy kitty! Would not hesitate to have Amanda housesit for us again or recommend her to others looking for a sitter.
Caitlyn, KJ, and their pup Sully were excellent house guests and pet sitters, and we would highly recommend them! I was able to meet Caitlyn and KJ prior to them house sitting for us, and we are always super appreciative when sitters are able to make that work and are willing to take time out of their schedule to come over and get the lay of the land. Their dog Sully was full of good boy energy and was a great playmate for our two Golden Retrievers. During the stay, Caitlyn & KJ sent us photos every day and followed all of our instructions for pet care to a T. They were super self-sufficient and gracious guests that left our place looking just like it did when we left, and we were very at peace knowing that our dogs were in great hands, getting lots of exercise, and romping around with new friend Sully. Don't hesitate to book this family of three, your house and your pets will be well-looked after!
Angelica was a wonderful pet sitter for our dog Rosie! She was easy to communicate with before and during the sit (very responsive), and made time to do a walk through of our house/intro to Rosie prior to the sit. She was extremely reliable throughout the process, and left our house really neat. Rosie was happy when we got home! We'd be happy to have Angelica sit for us again and would recommend her to anyone!
Melanie and Steve were excellent house & pet sitters. They sent me so many pictures of my 3 cats without me even asking and it made me so happy to see them enjoying their company. I'd say out of all the house sitters I've had, they spent the most time with my cats which means a lot to me. They are kind, easy to connect with and I'd welcome them back anytime. As far as caring for my house - top notch.
Ce was an amazing house sitter for our best bud Atlas. She not only took amazing care of our needy pup, she took great care of the home as well. I honestly think she left it cleaner than I left it for her! We certainly hope she is around the next time our best friend needs a friend. If you're looking for a responsible caregiver for your pets and home - look no further!
Elaine was the best dog and cat sitter I have ever had! She was so loving to the boys, kind, reliable, capable and took fabulous care of my two dogs and cat welfare. Walked them every day and would even sing to them (-: I am so very grateful to have had the pleasure of meeting Elaine and I would recommend Elaine to anyone wanting first class care of pets and home!!! We all miss having her around and wish her a fabulous world trip and safe journey back to the States.
Ramona and Brandon were the perfect sitters! They rescued me and were very accommodating with my needs. Ramona's communication with me was A1. We spoke multiple times before she arrived and throughout the sit. She was good at keeping me updated and I was very grateful for that, being so far away. The pets gravitated toward them from the moment they arrived and you could see that all she and Brandon wanted to do was spoil the pets with lots of cuddles. My female pup was in heat and they handled that very well and were able to keep her and my male dog separated. I could only imagine how exhausting that may have been but they didn't complain one bit. Ramona and Brandon had to hand over the sit to another sitter and were kind enough to write out the details and everything they observed to make the transition a seamless one. I must say, it helped tremendously. I'd have them back in a heartbeat to sit for me as they showed that I could trust them, not only to take care of my pets but to respect my home they way they would their own. Thanks again for making my trip away worth it!
Debra was a Great pet and house sitter !! She communicated well throughout our long trip and sent us frequent pictures of all of our pets. She watered our plants and brought in all the mail. Our home was immaculate when we arrived home and the dogs and cat were super happy !! I would recommend Debra as a wonderful, responsible and reliable pet and house sitter !
Laura was amazing with communication from the very beginning. She sent updates of photos and videos without even being told or asked to do so. She was watching our cat and treated her like her own. Laura was also very responsive when we were trying to find a sitter for our dates and answered any and all questions we had about her experience with pets and house sitting. I would recommend her to anyone! :) and hope we can have her house sit again for us.
Jerry and Suzanne were absolutely ideal sitters for our home and pets. We spoke with them ahead of their visit and could tell that they are genuine pet and travel lovers. Over their stay we got to see even more that they are wonderfully friendly, kind, and responsible - plus they kept us laughing with their updates and descriptions of our pets' antics while we were away. Our pets and plants were well loved and our house was spotless upon our return home, and they were even kind enough to leave a few goodies in the fridge. Our dog in particular seemed to miss them and their long walks around the neighborhood. Thank you Jerry and Suzanne! We wish you well in your travels!

Overall my dog had a good experience with Han Dover your Rover. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because when I tried to reach out via email, multiple times, to discuss an issue I had with overpayment, I never received a response. Thankfully, my issue was handled with no problem when I picked up my dog from boarding. My dog was so happy to see us and didn’t display any issues when we picked him up, aside from needing a bath, but that is expected! I was pleased with my experience! :) The only thing I can recommend is maybe send pics of our dogs while they are boarding. Whether that be them playing in the yard with other dogs or interacting with staff. Again I was pleased with my experience with Hand Dover your Rover. :):)
I am writing another review to respond to the owners that commented under our review Thank you for your response, but we need to address the inconsistencies between what was communicated to us privately and what you are now stating publicly. In our phone conversation, your representative (who we were told was the owner during the call) admitted that the timeline aligns with these injuries developing during Draco’s stay. Specifically, you stated: • “If he injured something while he was here, and some dirt or debris got in it, then your timeline is correct.” • “Certainly, if it happened here on like Friday or Saturday, for example, it probably started to develop yesterday.” This directly contradicts your public claim that it is “not possible” the injuries happened at your facility. The fact that you acknowledge the timeline aligns with Draco’s stay proves the wounds developed under your care, not after pickup. Additionally, you claimed on the call that Draco’s black fur made the wounds “difficult to detect.” While this might explain why your staff failed to notice them, it does not absolve you of responsibility. Proper supervision involves thoroughly checking the animals in your care, especially during transitions like drop-off and pickup. Your failure to notice and inform us of these wounds reflects a lack of attention, not an unavoidable oversight. To further address your claim that the injuries were “minor scratches,” the wounds required immediate veterinary care, cleaning, and antibiotics, and they are still being monitored for infection. The veterinarian explicitly stated these injuries were consistent with repeated irritation or jumping on surfaces—circumstances that occurred under your supervision. Your attempt to shift blame to us by suggesting the injuries worsened during the 24-hour gap before the vet visit is both misleading and unprofessional. Had your staff informed us of the wounds during pickup, we could have sought care immediately instead of discovering the issue after Draco’s behavior alerted us. We trusted your facility with Draco’s safety, and you failed to provide the level of care promised. The contradictions in your communications and your unwillingness to take responsibility for what occurred only reinforce our disappointment.
We dropped our dog off for 2 nights of the “bedroom boarding” and picked him up with wounds on his legs that required us to take him to the vet as soon as possible. We tried to come to a private resolution and thought reimbursement for the 2 night boarding stay and the vet bill for our dog’s injury was the least they could do to make this right. Unfortunately they acted like his injuries were “little scratches” and we were asking for far too much. And for the staff reading this…. We provided you with Draco’s veterinary paperwork immediately after his appointment. We also gave our veterinarian permission to share his condition with your staff upon you guys calling them requesting private information. The bottom line is he came back to us in a condition that was completely opposite of the day we dropped him off to you. How about “we are going to be better to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again?” You never said anything along the lines because you refuse to take accountability that this is a result of negligent care. We have no further interest in entertaining conversations with you or your staff. How you conduct your business is actually laughable. Thank goodness we will never be returning and all we can hope for is you have learned from this to never let it happen to another innocent animal. You disgust me.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I don’t know why places like this are able to remain open after they show people in the community that they clearly are not trustworthy at all to run a business. Once the dog is in your care it is your job to be attentive especially when you’re being paid for boarding.. giving a dog to their owner in the shape they did not leave the animal in is just absurd in general but you’d think they’d at least take responsibility for it. Dogs are members of a family not just something you can neglect and pass off as an accident.
I am absolutely horrified by the experience my friend had with Han Dover Your Rover. After seeing her post on social media, I felt compelled to share my concerns. She entrusted her beloved dog to their care, only to have them return with visible wounds. This is not just a minor issue; it raises serious alarms about the safety and well-being of the pets left in their hands. What’s even more disturbing is that despite having documentation from her vet outlining the harm caused, Han Dover Your Rover refused to take responsibility or cover the damages. This lack of accountability is unacceptable and raises significant red flags for anyone considering their services. I urge pet owners to think twice before leaving their furry friends with this service. The danger posed to your pets is real, and it’s a risk I wouldn’t want anyone to take. Choose a provider that prioritizes the safety and health of your pets—avoid Han Dover Your Rover at all costs!
Han Dover Your Rover is a place i’d recommend to everyone looking for a daycare/boarding facility. Jack is a year old lab mix and has problems with jumping/hyperactivity but the staff is so patient, kind, and understanding with him. He loves this building and the people in it! i absolutely adore that they’re treated like little humans with the swimming, movie nights, and arts and crafts projects. I’m from oklahoma and often have to board jack for up to a week when i visit my family back home and Han Dover takes AMAZING care of him while im gone! thank you guys so so much!
Han Dover your Rover is the best boarding in Delaware hands down !!! the staff is supper friendly and my pup enjoys spending time with them , not to mention you cannot beat the prices !! I highly recommend HDYR to any dog owner !
The love and joy that my furry children receive when they come to daycare is just beyond imagination! The quality of service and care that is given across the board gives me comfort while I’m away on holiday! My Corso, Nia, loves getting pampered every two weeks in their amazing spa and my Presa Canario, Ghost, loves playing with all of his friends in the yards! They even take the care to celebrate their birthdays which shows that they will always go the extra mile to insure that my dogs have the best quality time!
We boarded our dog at Han Dover Your Rover, and it was a terrible experience. He came home with severe wounds on his legs that required immediate vet care, and the facility refused to take responsibility. Their lack of supervision and accountability was unacceptable. Avoid this place.
This is the 2nd time I’ve used this facility for boarding purposes and I have no complaints. The staff here are kind and helpful. I do love that you can schedule your pups accommodations as well as extras (individual play time, cuddle time etc.)online which saves me time. I used to board my pup in Middletown but not anymore. Han Dover Your Rover will be my 1st choice for all of our boarding needs.
My grandparents have been taking the family dog here for years. He gets his nails clipped, a short hair cut, and a bath. She seems to do a decent job. He always comes home happy and energetic. Also he smells better. I have heard horror stories from this place, but they've never happened to me and I've never seen anything.
She care about the dogs very much, they are well groomed.
The owner does it all and loves the dogs she boards and she grooms. I've been there, and the dog she had on her table had tried to eat me alive but just loves her and kisses her face off! I will continue to call for advice and get my dogs nails trimmed. She's even driven to my house to simply cut nails when I couldn't get out.
It is a terrible shame when an owner of a business makes a horrid mistake while boarding a beloved pet. I have admitted my mistake with Roxie jumping my fence. I was not made aware that Roxie might be scared outside loose. I did everything in my power to find Roxie. I called the owners and ask them to bring her crate, bedding to an area when Roxie had been seen. They did not. I returned her lead to the owners that day. I did what I thought was correct and right in looking for Roxie. I made a mistake, I admit it. I refuse to go into the accusations made by friends and or the owner of Roxie. I will say its pretty terrible when people can post what ever they want, knowing MOST if not all is far from the truth. I have been boarding and grooming dogs for well over 30 years now and I am far from perfect, but I do enjoy what I do. I will also admit as I have gotten older I can not pick up the bigger pets now, am sorry. I have NEVER spoken to an owner about how heavy their pets are, just that I can't lift them. I do feel sorry for folks who can be so mean and nasty, but I can hold my head up high and I know I try to do what is right all the time. Thank you for hearing just a tiny bit of the truth about Roxie !!
I feel the need to correct the misinformation contained in the reviews below. Yes, a dog unfortunately was able to get loose while being boarded here. The business owner has never stated otherwise & never said that they weren't responsible & is of course very remorseful that this accident occurred. Neighbors & businesses in the area were notified right away & everyone was out looking daily for Roxi. She has since been found & reunited with her family, so all the claims that the dog was sold were completely false & absurd. Yes an attempt was made to correct grossly false accusations being made against the business owner, but we never stooped to the level of some of the commenters on the owner's page. Comments being made are actually promoting physical violence & I can't image how anyone can consider this acceptable behavior, especially from people claiming to be adults. This an example of cyber bullying at its finest & is setting a terrible example for any of these people that have children. The comments about the owner of the business blaming the family & saying that they'd look the other way if their dog was seen were NOT made by the business owner. These comments were made by a neighbor (this is very easily proven by looking at the dog's owner's Facebook page and seeing that the poster's name is Marian, which is NOT the name of the owner of the business), but because of how Roxi's owner framed the post she made sharing screenshots of the comments, it makes them appear to be comments made by the business owner. The owners later came to the property with a state police officer because, according to her comment, she wanted to retrieve Roxi's things & make sure she wasn't on the premises, but wanted an officer there because of a phone call between her husband & owner. Nobody else heard this phone conversation so no one can comment on what was said. When the officer was seen at the gate, she had to ask him several times to come to her house because she was watching her grandson. The owners were not with the officer when he walked to her home (leaving the gate wide open by the way). He asked for her ID & told her it was a criminal investigation. The owners weren't with the officer so they didn't hear this statement & are claiming it was never said. She showed the officer a copy of the signed contract relieving her of liability & then saw that instead of parking in the driveway, the owners pulled into her yard & parked on the wet lawn, which of course means the car sunk into the ground & left ruts. So yes, she was frustrated with the officer because he wouldn't ask them to move their car out of her yard. They left after the officer viewed the contract. He never searched the property for Roxi & the owners never asked to retrieve her items, despite that being their supposed reason for coming. The contract signed by Roxi's owner specifically says that the owner of Custom Canine is not liable for any pets being lost. Roxi's owner is claiming that the contract doesn't say this, however, she can only go by what she remembers reading when she skimmed the contract she signed. It's been discovered that she no longer has her signed copy because she's reached out to a client of Custom Canine asking for a copy of the boarding contract. While the business owner was out looking for Roxi on 07/08/17, she spoke to a neighbor who had seen a dog matching Roxi's description a couple of nights in a row. Roxi's owners were notified & told to bring her crate & some items from home so there would be familiar smells. She also told them to not call her name because the dog could take it negatively & think she's in trouble & not come to them. When they arrived, they were given the items of Roxi's she still had (leash/food), however, the crate wasn't brought along & it didn't appear that any of her items from home were brought either, but they said that they felt they'd be able to catch her. Unfortunately, the dog ran from them but she was ultimately caught by a local business owner and reunited with her family a couple of days later.
HORRIBLE! I have a Chesapeake retriever and black lab mix dog. He has very bad skin allergies and he can only use shampoo from vet. I called this company asking what cost would be for trimming my dog's hair only. The lady I spoke with was extremely rude and said she would not just cut his hair and that she was 62 yrs old and was too old to be hauling my dog's FAT ASS on to her table! I am so angry about this. What the hell is she in business for? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!
This gal has many years experience, is good with difficult dogs, and does a fantastic job! Unfortunately, she has been bad-mouthed by a very malicious person - a shame what some people will try to do to an honest businesswoman!
Excellent service and my pet isn’t very cooperative about getting groomed but she has a way with him
She was extremely rough and forceful. My dogs were terrified. Never, never take them back.
Nasty, unprofessional and can't own up to their own mistakes. They lose dogs and don't care.
Used several times with no issues work with me when we had family emergencies and had to board without scheduling in advance animals always came out as well as they went in or better
We have two dogs, they do well boarding here. Also Archie gets nails bath and cut. Reasonable price, excellent staff.
If I could give a ZERO I would!! DO NOT take your pets here there is video going viral of the mistreatment of animals here! A dog went in perfectly healthy and of good weight and came out starving and covered in dry blood and scratches, you could see the poor pups ribs 😢 PLEASE do not take your pets here! …
They are fantastic. Both the owner and staff are amazing. My dog loves going there.
Groomer did not clean ears ,infection possible from soap taken to Vet. Can’t prove but seems as if he was mistreated not impressed. The dog is 16 years old & he Got a poor cut . Would not recommend, in anyway. Gave them a F
I have trusted animal Inn with my dogs 4 years. I have used both boarding and daycare and been pleased with both. Their prices are also very reasonable. Good people, good place

Wasn't allowed to see where dogs are kept. Owner made appointment between 4 & 6 then says it's too busy ..... we are using the small dog area for...... Plus it smelled.
My friend sent there dog to animal inn the dog went for a couple weeks and he was big and healthy she came to get the dog and he was starved and had cuts and a swollen eye as if he was beaten and abused!! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!! and everyone that has any dog here shouldn’t!! This is sick and inhumane!!
Mrs. Debbie, Vicki and Mrs. Candice are like family. My family have been with animal Inn for 14 years. Daycare is a blessing for my kids. I use all the services. Vicky is the best groomer in kent county. I have even adopted cats from there. I use the over night stays for everything from graduations, date night even just plain old mommy time. I don't know what I would do without animal inn. Thank you from chonita and family. See you monday morning form Rachel Rae. Grooming Sasha Me chelle.
Holly does such a great job with our dog while we are away. He struggles at the kennel but with Holly, he is very happy and content. Holly comes over multiple times a day to walk our dog, feed him and get him outside. She sends updates and photos during her time with our lab. She is reliable, friendly and has been great for our dog! We’re so happy to have her services as he really didn’t do well in the kennel each time we went away. It’s a lot to come over multiple times a day but Holly does it easily and takes such good care of our dog!
Holly was so wonderful with my little Gigi. She came over for a meet and greet prior to watching her and I just could tell how much she loves dogs. She sent me texts while we were out and made me feel so good about leaving Gigi with her. I highly recommend Holly when you need someone who you know you can trust with your dog and I will definitely be having her care for Gigi again when we are back in Dewey!
Thank you, Holly for taking such good care of our pups! They always love it when you come, and they hate it when you leave. The videos you send me of them playing fetch, pictures of all their happy faces is a true testament of the animal lover you are. I completely trust you with our most precious family members.
Holly took amazing care of my sweet Luna girl while I was away! I’m so thankful and had such a wonderful experience that I will definitely be using Ole Blue Chair for anytime I need help! 10/10 recommend 😊 …
Holly is a wonderful, trustworthy and very responsible pet sitter. I also feel her pricing is very fair. I am so lucky to have found her! My puppy, Luci, loves her and I feel completely at ease knowing Holly is taking care of her. I would highly recommend Holly to anyone looking for a great pet sitter.
Without a doubt, the single greatest pet sitter in Delaware!. Holly is a very compassionate, knowledgeable and has this amazing bond with every dog she comes in contact with. She is the only person I truly trust with my babies and would recommend her to anyone.
Holly is professional, kind, thorough, and very trustworthy! I have 3 large senior dogs and Holly was more than happy to take care of everything & make it as seamless as possible examples- changing diapers, giving medications, and giving constant love and attention. I’ve had very bad experiences in the past which has made it impossible for my husband and I to get away, but Holly is truly one of a kind and has taken away all anxiety!! She’s an expert & extremely reliable.
Holly watched our two animals while we were on vacation for the week in our home . She went above and beyond caring for them. We’re not sure our puppy was happier to see us or more sad to see her go . Highly recommend to anyone who needs care for their pets short or long term
I highly recommend Holly to take care of your pet! She really kept in touch, even sending me pictures each time she was there. And she's a good photographer! You can trust your pet will receive great care, and be in good hands.
