Another amazing sit by Anna and her lovely family - our cocker spaniel Holly has had the best fortnight with these guys with lots of adventures and endless amounts of love and attention! Highly recommend as 5-star house and pet sitters - thank you Anna - hope to see you again!
This was our first time using a pet or house sitter and the bar set by Leslie is very high! She is warm, friendly, communicative, responsible and very clean. Upon arriving, she immediately bonded with our rat terrier, Oreo, by bringing him a new frisbee (his favorite toy/activity) and throwing it for him in our backyard. Leslie has a sweet and mellow dog, Benny, who is now Oreo's new buddy! She kept my husband and I updated via texts/pictures of their daily activities, our house, and was proactive in asking questions before she left. She even dropped our dog off at the kennel for one night at the end of our trip since our flight was too late for us to get home for him! Our home was clean and had fresh flowers from our garden that she put in vases for us! Such a simple and nice touch! We have asked Leslie to come back to sit for us again for 2 weeks in August. I'd highly recommend her to take care of your pet(s) and home too!
Natalie and Christian were dream pet sitters while we were out of the country for 2.5 weeks. From start to finish, they were reliable and professional, with excellent communication. They had took great care of our dog and chickens and left the house and car in great shape. Plus, they’re just a really sweet young couple. We’d highly recommend them as house sitters.
Alyssa was a very organized and caring pet sitter. This was our longest house sitter stay and she took excellent care of our home and two sweet and bossy Frenchies. I liked her communication to touch base the week before and how she initiated a shared photo album. We prefer not to get bombarded with daily text message photos and updates. She came up with a connected solution and touched base throughout her stay keeping us informed and sharing photos without a push. She even shared some travel gems about our destination as she is also a curious traveler and enjoys exploring outdoors. We would be happy to use her again.
Angela did a great job caring for Willie for 10 days while we were out of town. She was easy to communicate with and kept us informed about Willie, along with sending photos of him out on walks and at the beach. Angela was very accomodating when we needed to come home a day early - Thank you! The house was left in good shape and it's clear that Angela is organized and reliable and clearly loves her pet charges. I'd recommend Angela and will definitely include her as one of our top sitter choices in the future! Thanks again, Angela!
Great pet care. The house was clean and tidy. The sitters had great communication. Would recommend again!
Initially, I was very nervous about finding my very first in-home pet sitter who could provide the level of care and attention our 3 beloved fur-kids required. From the moment Emily and Johnny stepped into our home, I knew they were going to be in good hands. Their gentle demeanor and genuine love for animals instantly put our dogs Gypsy & Johnny at ease. Emily and Johnny took the time to understand our pets’ unique personalities and preferences, ensuring that their every need would be met. During our absence, Emily provided us with regular updates and adorable photos. Their detailed communication gave me peace of mind, knowing that my fur babies were in the best possible hands. Upon our return, we were greeted by a happy and contented gang, who clearly had enjoyed their time with Emily and Johnny. Emily and Johnny are more than just pet sitters; they are true companions to our furry family. Their exceptional care, genuine love for animals, and unwavering dedication have earned them a permanent spot in our hearts. Without hesitation, we give Emily and Johnny a 5-star rating and highly recommend their services to anyone seeking trustworthy and loving caregivers for their beloved pets. THANK YOU Emily and Johnny!!! <3
Lyndsey and Jordan were wonderful pet sitters and house guests. They kept us informed of how our pets were doing and went above and beyond to care for them. We felt entirely comfortable leaving our home and pets in their hands and arrived home to find everything tidy and the pets well cared for. We would absolutely have them sit again if the need arose.
Kuldip exceeded all the expectations we had from a Zeewoi. She took over from another sitter when we got stuck out of country due to a family emergency. A highly energetic person yet extremely organized, she easily matched the energy level of my 2-year-old Border Collie Pavo. She not only exercised him multiple times every day, but even him bought him new doggy toys and treats (much appreciated!). She got along very well with our neighbor and with their combined help Pavo got a much needed doggy bath! With her by my dogs side we were worry-free and able to focus on our family needs. Lastly, she left a pleasant surprise when we came back home. Our home looked squeaky clean and beautifully organized. Kuldip is a gem of a pet sitter and we would love to have her back for our fur baby without any hesitation. I highly recommend her!
Laura was amazing with communication from the very beginning. She sent updates of photos and videos without even being told or asked to do so. She was watching our cat and treated her like her own. Laura was also very responsive when we were trying to find a sitter for our dates and answered any and all questions we had about her experience with pets and house sitting. I would recommend her to anyone! :) and hope we can have her house sit again for us.

We have boarded dogs at this kennel for years. We have boarded a very old dog. That old dog was given excellent, kind, gentle care. We have also boarded a puppy who was also given exactly the care he needed. He is grown now and is always happy to go there. He goes in with tail wagging. He goes to both Barb and Lloyd for pets. He is a happy dog when I pick him up. I would recommend this kennel to anyone needing a dog to be cared for in a home. The owners are knowledgeable and caring.
We left our dog here for a 10 day trip. When she couldn't eat her food due to a tumor in her mouth, Barb hand cooked fish that she was more than willing to eat. We were even given some of the fish to take home when we picked her up since she was so willing to eat it over regular food. We are very grateful for the care and dedication by Barb to accommodate our dog and would recommend this dog kennel to anyone else looking for one.
I used Just like home dog boarding three times, but will never return. After the first time I didn’t feel totally comfortable and didn’t plan to return, but found that after the stay my dog seemed more social with other dogs, so I decided to go back. The second visit went fine and she seemed to have enjoyed it. Sadly the third visit was a terrible experience. When I picked my dog up after a long weekend, she was walking on three legs. The dog boarding owners said she likes to jump a lot and she just hurt her paw a little but it’s fine, and said she’s just been looking for sympathy and lying around all day. They didn’t give details of what had happened or when. They keep the dogs in the house and showed me where they had her sleeping, which was on a high ledge with quite a precarious jump onto a box to get down, not the type of spot I would ever have her sleep. It was a long weekend, so I’m not sure if they were full and finding extra spots for dogs to sleep or if it’s a spot they usually use. There was clearly something seriously wrong so I took her to the vet. They found she had broken her toe below the joint. The end of the toe had to be removed, leaving just a stub, and the nail will never grow back. There was also an abrasion on the side of the toe. I called Just like home to tell them that she was seriously hurt and had required surgery which cost almost $500. They were very rude, saying: What are you accusing us of, we didn’t hurt her, she hurt herself, and if you think we’re paying we aren’t. I told them that all I was saying is that I left her in their care and when I returned she was badly injured, but actually I did feel they have some responsibility. At a minimum I suggested they should be refunding the boarding fee (that I had paid in advance). They refused saying the waiver I signed says they are not responsible for injuries. They even questioned the injury saying "I don't know your vet..." At no point was there even an apology. I know accidents can happen, but I feel like the environment there was more risky than it should have been and I was very disappointed by both their response to the injury and their attitude around it. I will not be returning.
I've takem my dogs here multiple times. Never had a bad experience. They are good people and always show that they care about my dogs. This is the only place I'll leave my dogs.
Although the owners clearly care about the pets that they take care of it was unfortunately not a good experience for my partner and I. We travel often and saw the good reviews online. After picking up our Bernese mountain dog and golden retriever we noticed a deep gouge in the top of our Berneses head and a rash on his stomach (same rash was on our golden) took the Berny to the vet the very next day and the vet explained he either a) got his head stuck under a fence or b) got bitten by a much larger dog & that it couldn't have been our golden because his jaw wasn't wide enough for the bite. She explained it must have happened earlier in the days we dropped him off as black flies had gotten into his gouge and it was infected. Not really sure how no one noticed that he has the cut on his head because the smell was pungent and the kennels have 24 hour security cameras to monitor them. A $200 vet bill later & even though we explain what happened to the owners who assured us they were not with other dogs we were offered no apology. The rash on both of them was from black flies which is understandable as they were outside so it would be silly to be mad about that. However for the cut in our dogs head made the experience very disappointing.
Can't say enough great things about them. So kind and friendly. My golden retriever just lives it. We use it two or three times a year. Would not go anywhere else.
The only place we leave are two beagles at they are treated like family. Beautiful spot lots of space for all size of dogs.
I have had good experiences with this kennel, and have left my dogs there for boarding on a couple of occasions. This time when I called I was asked to give my credit card for their file, which I have never been asked for before. This policy is not on the website, and asking for the 3 digit pin on the back is unnecessary. When I was told it was a new policy implemented this year, I knew that to be untrue as I had already boarded my pets this year. I dislike companies who change their policies on regular and reliable customers, without notification on their website. If there was an online form for booking with card, this new policy would make more sense.
My partner and I stopped in here today to possibly get our pup registered for daycare. There was no issue with the fact that they weren’t taking any new clients till the new year, however the individual who assisted us came through the door looking quite angry and continued to blank stare at me until I awkwardly asked about registration, from there I was dismissed pretty rudely and that was that. I’m not usually one to leave a bad review & I have no issue with them genuinely not having the capacity to take on new pups, but was thrown off by the way we were spoken to and ushered out the door. Thank you kindly to anyone who may read this & im sure by the other reviews this business has this isn’t a usual occurrence.
Betty and the staff at Stay n Play are THE BEST ! We have been taking our dogs there for 4 years now and can't imagine life without them. It's more then just a daycare. They love dogs and take a tone of pictures each day and post them on Facebook so you get to see what your fur baby is doing all day. They tell you if there was a sick dog at day care and know my dogs habits and behaviors so if something is off it can be taken care of. They celebrate each dogs birthday. They treat us and our dogs with respect and for all of those things I'm thankful. Stay n Play is much more then a daycare . They are a second family.
Hi, I am a retired RCMP Member of 33 years. I have spent more than 25 yrs of the 33 working with German Shepherds. I was a RCMP K9 Handler and Trainer for the RCMP. We bought a female from Yan, this dog is above and beyond what I expected from a local Breeder. This line of puppies are confident, inquisitive, energetic and going to be a great family and protection dog. And great looking line of dogs. Thank you Yan, you were a pleasure to deal with, your dogs are exceptional !! Mike Landry, St Marie New Brunswick.
They took great care of my two pups while I was on vacation!
They were friendly and were able to board my pet for extra days due to a personal crisis
Great agility classes. Tamara is a great instructor. Be patient learning agility takes time. Also good safe boarding and doggie daycare
Wally & Layla LOVE 'puppy play park'! Perfect for socialization and when you're on vacation.
These folks are true dog lovers. Your dogs are in good hands here. Don’t think twice about leaving them with Betty and her caring staff
First day going for training our dog, Was very informative and we where amazed on what our dog training looks like .
This is the only professional groomer I trust my dog with. She is amazing at what she does and she is a pet lover. Only go to see Courtney for all your pet grooming needs!! Update March 2022: still the very best groomer around and the only person I trust with my dog. Can't ever see this changing.
Coming down from Halifax to visit someone in the hospital, they graciously took in my Great Dane while I ran back to the hospital. Came back in a couple hours and my dog was obviously happy and content there. She's normally timid in new places, but not here. She'll be going there for every hospital visit for now on.
These ladies were great with Cattie-brie. She's an 80lb mastiff that hates getting her nails done . It took mins to get her mani and pedi ❤
Great place Courtney's great with the dogs soon as I take my dog out of the car she pulls me all the way up the ramp to go in 🥰 …
Courtney is extremely gentle and very good with all animals. Great place to take your pet.
Courtney is great and my dogs love going there ;)
My puppies were well cared for and I'd take them there again, they were referred to by Park Your Paws, thanks.
You can tell all pet that go in for grooming are loved like her own fur babies
Very good at grooming dogs and they all love her
Cooper and Amarok love staying here, when we are away!
My 5 month old husky was very shy on arrival and after a weekend of loving attention from Marcel as well as his playful and friendly pup team welcomed Riggs with open paws and he is excited to return weekly for play dates! Very highly recommended!
Me and my dog love the Red Woof Inn! Marcel goes above and beyond to make sure each and every dog have a great experience.
10/10 highly recommend. Dogs can free roam at night in a safe environment. Are not locked in kennels. Very clean facility. Reasonable prices. Lots and lots of pictures daily of pups.
We acquired two Japanese Chin pups (litter mates/brothers) at the start of Covid-19 pandemic and they had not been socialized with other dogs, let alone people! Since we plan to travel again at some point in the future we want a safe place for them and access to doggie friends of all sizes and breeds. We were aware of Marcels global animal welfare efforts at saving/improving the lives of many animals over many years, which is why we made the Red Woof our only choice for the care of our boys. We were a little hesitant at first as our boys seemed terrified to be there and ALL the dogs are together big/small, however Marcel is extremely picky about the personalities of the dogs he welcomes into his home and aggression is not tolerated (no matter size). All the dogs that take part in daycare or sleepovers there are well socialized, with agreeable and non-aggressive personalities. Now the boys almost turn themselves inside out with excitement at the mere mention of going to see their doggie friends. We feel they’ve become more outgoing, which has made them far less timid of other animals and people. We are glad to have a safe and happy place for our boys to enjoy the company of canine friends!! 🥰🐶🙏🏼
If you need a doggy daycare you don't have to look any further. We had our puppy there for a week. We have never had patty at a daycare so we were a little nervous about leaving her for a week. They could see our apprehension but he spent nearly a hour explaining how he takes care of his dogs and their schedule for each day. He sent pictures everyday of patty that really help ease our mind knowing she was enjoying the daycare. It's very clean and organized with a separate area for small dogs. Needless to say we were incredibly happy with the owner and his business. He's only been open for a little while but I see great success with his daycare. Thank-you so much.
I was travelling to Nova Scotia from Ontario for the week in a camper trailer and pup, Jack. I had booked a day of sea kayaking but did not want to leave Jack alone for the day. I had looked up a few spots around Truro and came across the Red Woof Inn and figures I'd check it out. I reached out to Marcel about a month prior to my vacation. He stated that an assessment of the dog was necessary prior to taking him in for the day/evening, as well as vaccination papers. A few days prior to the kayaking, as I was passing through Truro, I stopped in to have Marcel assess Jack (to make sure Jack is compatible with Marcel, his two Huskies, and the remaining dogs within Marcel's care). The assessment went well, Jack seemed very at ease and happy when I picked him up. When I brought Jack back for the actual daycare appointment, Jack was very excited to be returning! Marcel is a very kind and genuine soul, and it is quite apparent that he cares for all the dogs within his care. I highly recommend taking a few hours for the assessment in order to allow your dog to spend time here! And to top it off, the price is unbeatable! Thanks again!
Amazing place and one of the best places we have taken our pet. Annie loves going and Marcel is always going above and beyond. He not only is always trying to improve the kennel for the dogs but is also trying to use his business to support local charites and giving back often.
We just picked up our pup Floyd after a week at the Red Woof Inn and he loved it! We will be using this daycare if we ever need to again. Would recommend to anyone!
Marcel is the best. He loves the dogs and provides a fun, loving atmosphere for our puppies.
Marcel is a great guy and I know he takes care of all the animals with the best of his abilities!
Coastal Tails owners have a great love of dogs and it shows. When we say it is time to go to Coastal tails and play with your puppy friends, our dogs tail almost falls off. They care for your dog as much as you do. Highly recommend them for daycare or boarding.
This was the first time I boarded my two dogs at Coastal Tails for 4 night's. The staff was friendly and focused on the well being of my dogs. They called me to let me know that my dogs are doing well and had a good night's sleep. That they played well with the other dogs. My furry babies were happy and relaxed when I picked them up. I highly recommend Coastal Tails.
Was hesitant to leave our dogs with strangers but certainly glad we took the chance. We use the service regularly now and the peace of mind provided by the owners is unbeatable. Such nice people and the dogs always come back tired and happy.
Had an absolutely amazing experience here. Sugi is exhausted and was so happy with the other dogs. The new owner was so lovely and sweet, and got him in last minute for me, which I really appreciated. The prices are great too!
Called yesterday to make an inquiry. No one answered so I left a message with my name and phone number and asked them to call me back. No one bothered to call. Not impressed.
My dog loves going to this boarding facility.
I bring my girlfriends dog her every week. Not only do they take great care of her but they always have a welcoming smile doing so! Thank you so again. I personally recommend.
We knew Baloo would be a challenge to groom, being a 140 lb Newfie puppy who needed grooming and wasnt familiar with grooming because of covid. Sabrina was patient, professional, and did a job on Baloo that was perfect. There couldn’t possibly be a better groomer in the area. Thanks Sabrina! See you next month!
The lady was so very professional.. she made us feel at home.. such a nice person... I feel so safe knowing she will be looking after my dogs
Took my 4 dogs there.. owners are fabulous.. lady is extremely friendly.. lady gives updates on how dogs are doing via text... will use this place again in future 4 sure
Dog came back to us after 2 days, lesion on her elbow, dog bite on her face. A week later she presented with symptoms of kennel cough, and we also got her face checked, and her face got infected, so now she's sick with kennel cough and is on antibiotics for her lesions. Never bringing our dog back there. They clearly need to pay closer attention, and maybe if they know kennel cough is going around, to sanitize areas better. Truly disappointed in our first boarding experience for our 7 month old puppy 😪
I can't say enough good things about Melanie and the staff at Cross Rd. Boarding. I've never felt so confident leaving my dog with anyone. Besides their wonderful manner and friendly demeanor... Melanie's facilities are certified 'fear free', she is a behavioral consultant, and part of the association of professional dog trainers. When I look for someone who I can trust to leave my dog that will use humane training methods and care, certifications like these are key. Our dog is an anxious fearful rescue dog who takes a while to warm up to strangers. She is reactive and very dog selective so leaving her with traditional boarders is not an option. Melanie caters to your dog's individual needs and I was put at ease our very first time when she told me Stella would have a fenced in outdoor area to herself. I also love that the number of dogs she takes in is kept small so as to provide the best care. We honestly don't know what we would do without Cross Road boarding!
Melanie took care of our border collie for a week in March of 2022. Oscar came back relaxed, happy, and squeaky clean thanks to the bath we ordered for our return. She was accessible during our vacation and sent us updates when we asked how he was doing. She has a large facility, has a lot of experience training dogs, and her rates are excellent. Highly recommended!
I am so thankful to have such a skilled and accommodating place to take my dog for daycare, overnight stays, nail trims and now groomings! Not to mention dog behavioral analysis, and guidance in appropriate training methods. Reasonable pricing, and always flexible with drop off/pick up times when needed. I would recommend this place to anyone, low or high need dogs. My dog isn't always easy to get along with and can get quite anxious, but he can't get enough of daycare and always comes home happy and content. Melanie has a wealth of canine knowledge and goes above and beyond to ensure every dog in her care is comfortable and happy, I wouldn't dream of taking my dog elsewhere!
The facilities are fantastic, and Melanie (the owner) is amazing - it's easy to see that she truly cares about all the dogs she looks after. Literally every time we bring our dog Roxy, she is ready to run to Melanie without so much as a backward glance, and seems to get lots of exercise and socialization. With an affordable overnight boarding cost, and accommodating pickup and drop off times, I would recommend this to anyone with a dog 🐶
Melanie is so sweet, and so knowledgeable. I was nervous leaving our pup for the first time overnight, but she made me feel comfortable. Our pup had a wonderful weekend at Cross Rd, and we won't hesitate to bring him back!
Great training advice, and great service. Melanie has steered us in the right direction with Gizmo's training on plenty of occasions. We put him in daycare once a week; he's safe and socialised, and we pick up a very tired, happy dog at the end of the day. That's worth every penny.
So happy to find this place for our 2 dogs. They were very well taken care of! They can stay together in a clean, warm, dry building with lots of outdoor time. You can order a bath and nail trim before pickup. Rates are very reasonable! Highly recommend this business
Lucy loves it there, right from the start. She whines and scratches at the door (bad Lucy lol) when we turn in she’s so happy and excited. I also really like that Melanie is educated in behavior science, it makes a difference :) I felt comfortable leaving Lucy there the first day even though she was a little unsure of her new place at first. That quickly changed
Out dog loves this kennel. It's our goto for overnights.
