Pet Sitters in Pymatuning Central, PA

For our dogs in 2021 this was a 1 star experience at best. If your dogs are already comfortable with the heavy smell of smoke (maybe between 2021 and 2024 this has improved?) then they might not have any issue with this. The owner provided services twice when due to a lack of openings at our preferred kennel we found this place and based on reviews risked it. (we have since found additional options and will drive over an hour to avoid this experience) I will admit (and in my email from September 15, 2021 to them providing vaccination records and written reminder) that although one of our 2 rescue dogs is quite friendly and desires constant attention, the other had a very traumatic early life and requires extra patience and gentle care. The first trip was short and although we had concerns about the level of smoke we recognized that to the best of our knowledge at the time there were not many other options. Upon returning from our second trip, our dogs had lost a noticeable amount of weight and took weeks to return to their normal playful personalities. (We have not had this issue with other kennels) the owner told us that our dog “was mean” This review might look similar to a duplicate entry from my wife; the owner responded to that by saying that our dogs have never stayed there - which raises concerns for us about their record keeping.

This was our 1st time boarding our lab, Buddy. Garnett was great at reassuring us that Buddy would be well taken care of. She also welcomed our calls to check in on him. He was happy when we picked him up, and even had his toenails cut during his stay. Buddy will be happy to return the next time we travel!

Garnet the owner doesn't seem to have no compassion when you drop off the pets. She bad mouthed a vet saying she had dogs get kennel cough from the vet office. When she took us back to put the dogs in the cage she showed us how the door to outside worked she sent the dogs out and never said this is it. Never had a chance to say bye to the pets. Another person came back in after dropping off her dog off and asked if she could go say goodbye and was told sternly NO. My dog came home with kennel cough a week later. Only used this kennel cause of last minute changes and she is the only one who had available space. Hope I never HAVE to do it again

The owner Garnet is a very nice and professional woman. She is very knowledgeable about any and all of the animals that are boarded at her kennel ! Would recommend to anyone !!!

We have left Joey at Shoalwater at least 5 times since November 2014. He is well cared for. He is not distressed when we leave him and is always happy when we pick him up. Garnet and her staff do a great job.

Garnett does a wonderful job grooming my St.Bernard. Bella is deaf and i was just concerned about where to go for grooming. I couldnt be more happy with my choice. Garnett shows love and is very attentive to Bella. I will nevergo anywhere else.

First time we have kept our dog in a kennel. The kennel was very clean and then people cared about the dogs. There were quite a few dogs being kept there, all were healthy and happy.

I have used this kennel for years, it is always clean. The owner is a great dog lover and has always helped me with advice and service for my dog.

Pymatuning Paws is the best place to bring your pet for daycare and boarding services. Cheeto has been attending daycare for over a year now! We do not live locally, but the way Cheeto is treated here is worth the daily commute! We have had nothing but amazing experiences here. For Cheeto, this is a home away from home. He gets excited to spend the day playing with his friends. I love that he has somewhere safe where he can be himself and burn off all his extra energy! Pymatuning Paws is the best! We have taken our dog there for weekly visits, while on vacation. She loved it so much we take her every week to play with the other dogs and burn puppy energy. In fact, we call it “going to school” for our dog and when we say it, she gets extremely excited. Katie takes care of our girl like she is her own! This is a picture of Ivy after a day at Pymatuning Paws… she is exhausted! We are very grateful that Pymatuning Paws is local and priced very well!

Our experience at the Pymatuning Paws for the past year and a half is number 1. Our three corgis absolutely love day care or overnights! They get excited just driving down the road that leads there. They can't wait to see Aunt Katie as I call her. Their care is above all the rest. No comparison. It's like a doggie playground and hotel. Fun and plenty of space to run I know they are treated like children. I give 5stars and highly recommend. I would drive from far away just to see my pups as happy as they are. They run in every time. Beautiful set up and great owners!

Our 2 old dogs (10 and 15) were kenneled here for the first time ever in their lives. They were well taken care of! The owner sent pics of the dogs playing outside every 3 to 4 days. They were also bathed before picking them up. Highly recommend!!!

We are so impressed with the excellent care given to our Springer Spaniel, Gracie!! She has a few health issues and usually doesn’t do well away from home. We picked her up yesterday and she acted totally like herself, usually takes her several days to recoup. Jan and her staff give your pets excellent care with play time, excercise and so much more, even pictures!! We absolutely recommend Maxfield Pet Resort!

I'm so impressed! Jan and her staff go above and beyond to make a comfortable boarding experience for both me and my dogs. Response time, accommodations, her clear level of care are all exceptional. We have a dog who can be a little harder to manage and I couldn't feel better leaving him in her watch. I'm glad to have such a good kennel so close to Meadville and will do my best to book with them in the future.

I love Jan and her staff! My two young cats have been going there for a couple of years; this time we included our 14 year old cat and our 7 month old puppy. I'll be able to rest easy on our vacation knowing all of our pets are being loved and cared for. ❤️

This pet resort meets all your expectations and more. I took my 4 furbabies their and I truly believe they treated them as their own. My babies, 2 siamese cats, a goldendoodle on medication for seizures and a pit mix who has trust issues will not be boarded any place but here. I got text updates with pictures. I received a collage of pictures of the four of them. They gave the dogs oatmeal baths and reported everything back to me. My babies were there for 10 days, which is a long time for me. As long as they are there, I will rest easy while on vacay knowing they are getting the best care. Thank you so much I am over the top impressed.

Best Place Ever! My dog loves going to stay with Bonnie everyday while I'm at work. They take great care of her.

We are thrilled beyond belief that we found Bonnie. We have a 10 year old Shepard mix, Izzy, and a 9 month old, 100 pound crazy Rottweiler, Riker. We had booked a vacation before we got our Rottie puppy and I was extremely apprehensive about leaving him since we had never left him before. Bonnie was AMAZING. She brought over playdates to run off some of his puppy energy, took them to her house to hang out, brought her kids over to our house to play with them, and even took Riker to a softball game. She also sent bunches of pictures and videos. She took such good care of them that I was a little worried they wouldn't even miss us. If she can handle a sometimes pushy 100 pound Rottie, she can handle anything.

Bonnie did such a great job watching our animals while we were away! They all were happy and well cared for! We got picture updates daily and she was even able to handle a utility issue that came up while we were out of town. We definitely recommend her services!

Hi I'm Finnegan the English Springer Spaniel. I have been playing at Bonnie's house since I was 5 months old. Bonnie and her loving family have helped me grow to be a healthy and happy 16 month old "big boy puppy". I appreciate the personal care, attention and love I get from Bonnie who pampers me. I cannot say enough good things about Bonnie! We have only had our puppy since Nov. and had a trip to Disney planned for May. We were very stressed as to who would take care of our Millie. I was searching on line and reached out to her, she came over to meet Millie and we new she was the one! She was wonderful to Millie, very caring, treated her like Millie was her own. We received daily updates and pictures which helped to ease the anxiety we felt being away from her for a week. Bonnie took Millie with her during the day and stayed overnight with her at our home. I honestly cannot tell you what a God send she was. Bonnie also worked with Millie on her training that we had started and Millie has been doing great with potty training, leash training and in general a more calm little Yorkie. If you are looking for the best person to care for your fur baby look no further, Bonnie is the best!

By far the best groomer around! We take 6 dogs and they are very accommodating. Prices are affordable, they carry great brands of dogfood, and the staff are helpful and friendly! Highly recommend!

I have an Old England Sheepdog and have been taking her in to get her nails cut. This was he her 3rd trip First off, she had a bowel movement which tells me she was scared and or startled. Secondly the person came out and said it too three of us to hold her down. Lastly, when I arrived at my house her back paw was slightly bleeding and I could not touch her back leg as she yelped and tried to bite me off. To top all of that 2 of the side nails weren't even touched?? 1. I called Proudland and spoke to the front desk and they said a groomer would call me back... (they did not do such) 2. If you have to use 3 people to hold down an animal then STOP and have the owner take her away, the trauma isn't worth it c'mon y'all use your head! What does your procedure say? 3. Follow through and call the customer back it's really not that hard. 4. The bad part is the first time she went there she had a perfect cut and no problems. Now, I wouldn't send my pet there ever again or would I recommend them to anyone very unprofessional.

We were referred by a friend and we couldn't be more pleased! Excellent!! The cut is perfect, but more important our dog wasn't traumatized at all. She came home a happy pup. I highly recommend Proud Land. Much appreciation to all.

I take my 2 pups (Golden Retreiver & American Bully) to Hannah at DHDR whenever we go out of town, and I absolutely love it! I’m very particular over my babies and Hannah takes amazing care of them. She’s very quick to respond to any texts or anything if I’m missing my pups, sends pics, and updates if needed! They also offer baths at the end of the boarding stay for an additional cost which is awesome, and that’s only 1 of the many beneficial add ons you can opt into while booking! The website to book is very user friendly, too! I highly recommend Hannah and DHDR if you need a place to board your fur babies while you’re away!

The most amazing group of people and place to board your dogs. I have always had issues trusting other people with my babies, but Hannah, Mick, and Maddy are THE BEST. My girls love packing up and heading to “hannahs.” All 3 of my girls are timid at first, but never once showed hesitation with the DHDR crew. I know that when I drop my girls off, they will receive all of the love and care that I would give them. They each come home happy, which is all I could ever ask for when boarding my girls. They also take so many pictures and send updates throughout my longer trips, which means so much to see the girls actively enjoying their time there. I highly recommend Down Home Dog Resort for all of your boarding needs. It’s truly my girls home away from home and I am forever grateful. 🤩

We have been so pleased with Down Home Dog Resort. We have a 3 year old yellow lab who started going for boarding when he was around 1 year old. He was not an easy pup as he struggled with a lot of separation anxiety. Hannah and her staff were so compassionate, patient, and very willing to problem-solve with us so he would feel more comfortable (not to mention they have cleaned up quite a few messes and given quite a few unplanned baths in the process). We also boarded our senior black lab until he passed. We were so comfortable with his care as an aging dog. Hannah and her staff gave him so much appropriate care and attention. We have experienced flexibility and so much hospitality. Hannah posts pictures and is very responsive to questions and needs so that we have always felt comfortable knowing how are fur-babies are doing.

We love Hannah and Mick! I always know my dog is in the best care when she's with the Down Home crew. Barbie gets so excited to go to playcare. The facility is always spotless, excellent retail section, and top notch care. Hannah and Mick always make sure to go the extra mile for the dogs. I'd recommend to anyone!!

My Aussiedoodle, Nova, began training with Hannah Adams @ Down Home Dog Resort when she was just two months old. She has gone through a number of sessions since that time with the most recent course being the Community Canine course. Today, 10/18/24, I wrote Hannah to say: Nova (now 11 months old) sends a big thank you to Miss Hannah this morning. Yesterday we experienced quite the fiasco when we got locked out of our camper (three hours away from home). Hours later after attempting numerous ways to get us back in, we resorted to a hotel room. Because of Miss Hannah and our community canine classes, Nova navigated everything with ease. Hours in the car and on a leash, crowds, a restaurant, elevators, rolling luggage passing by, stairs and strange places. She’s definitely a little tuckered out this morning and a wee bit off since the routine is off but overall she did great and that was the best part of her mama’s day!! I honestly can’t imagine how much harder this would have been without our classes with you! Training with Hannah/Down Home Dog Resort is definitely worth the time and effort. It benefits both you and your dog!

We have trusted our Bernedoodle with Hannah & the team at DHDR since she joined our family. We benefited from group training sessions as new dog owners, and it has been wonderful having a playcare option to help our dog with her socialization - I love seeing all the fun that they have! When we have been out of town, we have been able to board Lucy with DHDR too. Over & over, Hannah, Mick, & Maddy show their love for & knowledge of Lucy & her personality/needs. We trust them & value all that they provide to the local dog community. Highly recommend!

Dogs love it, they keep us updated with pictures and responsive to text. Dogs are always excited when we pull up, which hasn't happened in other places. Shout out to Maddie Ceremuga and her awesome grooming service there!

This place is absolutely amazing. Our dogs were well taken care of and got to play together. When we picked them up of course they were excited to see us but then they wanted to kiss the staff and play some more! I highly recommend keeping your babies here .

I will never use another kennel beside Birchwood for as long as this place is open. We went away in January to a different state and my oldest dog became very Ill. Allison and her husband noticed right away that he wasn’t himself and alerted me to the situation. They kept me constantly updated until I was able to send a friend to take him to the hospital for me. Unfortunately, our boy was pretty sick and we ended up euthanizing him. But I will never forget the love and attention as well as updates and pictures that they sent me and my husband. I couldn’t be more thankful to have two caring individuals that love my dogs like I love them and be an extension of my family. Thank you, Birchwood Kennels, for being such compassionate, amazing people that give us a piece of mind. ❤️. The world needs more people like you.

We were boarding our dog spirit at Birchwood kennels and while she was there, we requested a grooming appointment with some special request We were absolutely and amazed when we picked our dog up and they met all of our needs A big shout out to David and his staff, and especially Scarlet their new groomer who done an amazing job and we will return in the future.

I dropped my dog, Bear, off for 4 days because I was getting married, and heading out of town for a few days. I’ve never had a dog in my adult life until recently, and didn’t know how boarding kennels worked. They were patient when explaining everything to me, and I also forgot to bring a toy for her, but luckily they had extras! The staff was very friendly, and kept me updated on how she was doing!! Highly recommend, and I will be using them in the future for boarding my dog!!

We started off taking all 3 of our dogs here many years ago and they all loved. Sadly we now only have Molly but I would not trust anyone else with her. We have had nothing but excellent care and attention for Molly.

Our two babies just stayed here from a Thursday to a Sunday. The owner is very kind don’t get me wrong but now we have two sick boys. Both have kennel cough and horrible diarrhea. When I texted the owner with and update (that she asked for) I never received a response. The kennel owner is kind and will take good care of your animals. However, she mentioned that kennel cough went through 2 weeks prior and for both of our pups to catch it… I don’t think the cleaning is done well enough. Just be warned so that your pups don’t come home sick as well.

Mr. T & Nittany had another great stay at R & T Country Boarding Kennel. The facility is clean, spacious kennels & play yard area. Tawnya & Renee love on your pets as if they were their own. The boys will be back to visit this fall & highly recommend them to family, friends & anyone looking for a place to board your pet.

I wouldn’t want to send my animals anywhere else! My dog stayed 9 days and I could tell by the pics and his demeanor when we picked him up that he felt comfortable and loved. The facility is immaculate and the staff is amazing! Daily updates and pics kept my heart at ease. They truly care! Best kennel experience I’ve ever had!

Our family will go to no other boarding kennel in our area. Tawna and Renee are professional and love fur babies. They are reasonably priced as well!

My dogs get excited and jump out of the car as soon as I open the door when we arrive. Their facilities are spotless, well-organized, and there are large fenced in areas for the dogs to potty and play privately. I’ve never been as comfortable leaving my bulldogs as I am since I found Renee and Tawnya. The communication from booking through the day of pick-up is ongoing and appreciated. We had to rebook recently due to a family emergency and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate us!

Renee and Tawnia are the bomb!!!! Maggie was as happy to see them and play as she was to see my husband come and pick her up!! We will definitely never hesitate to take her there when needed!!

This is a convenient location for us when camping at Shenango Adventure Bound RV Resort. I cannot say how amazingly attentive and caring the sisters Tawnya and Renee are to the kennel and dogs. They make the experience hassle and worry free to board for doggy daycare. I highly recommend their services with more to come! Great website, painless application process and wonderful service! We hope to board them again and want to share our positive experience with everyone.

I recently boarded my two dogs with Tonya and Renee over Thanksgiving. My senior girl is 15 and had never been boarded before. They made sure she was eating and sent me pictures the first day, that eased my mind. As a previous owner of a boarding kennel for 25 years, I know they were well cared for when I picked them up and they really didn't care to rush out the door. They just sorta waited for their goodbye hugs and petting from Tonya and Renee. The kennels are spotless and the dogs are all individually given the attention they need.

This facility & the ladies that own/run it are WONDERFUL! Chloe LOVES them, she gets so excited when she gets here! She is so well taken care of & we never have to worry about leaving her! They even send pics to us while she's here! This is the only place we will board her! Thank you for taking such FANTASTIC care of our fur baby!

This weekend was the first time I used their services. Tammy sent me pictures of my 2 beagles to let me know that they were fine. My 2 were so happy there.

Tammy and Brian are wonderful and take such thoughtful care of our dogs. The kennel space is great! Our dogs are always happy to go. Tammy does a fantastic job posting cute pictures to let you know how well cared and happy your pup is! Try to book early because they do so such great job, the kennel fills up quickly!

Tammy and Brian are the most wonder hosts for our dog. They take care of Jedi as if he was their own. I appreciate how much they care for Jedi and make sure that he feels welcome. They have even sent pictures to us of him.

Knick's Bed and Buscuit is wonderful. Tammy and Brian live all the dogs and it shows. My dog gets so excited when we pull into the kennel. And I appreciate that I get to see where my pup is being housed (it's always clean and comfortable looking). Can't say enough good things about this place!

I enjoyed my experience with Tammy. Her facility is like brand new. It is perfectly clean inside and out. When you need your dog taken care of like you would yourself this is the place to go. From very start you know Tammy loves animals. This was my dogs first ever stay in a boarding facility. I don't look at it as boarding. Boarding sounds harsh. Like its title its more of like a little vacation for the dog too. Kinda like going to the sitters. It's a home away from home. And very reasonable. Daisy will be back for sure in the future.!

I needed a place to watch our fur babies for a long weekend and was so happy that Knick's had an opening and could accommodate us. Tammy took great care of our dogs, which made our weekend more enjoyable. Her prices are very reasonable and the kennel is very clean. I wouldn't hesitate to use this kennel again and highly recommend it!

Tammy will LOVE on your dog(s) as if they were her own! She has a wonderful facility with both heat and air conditioning for your year-round boarding needs. She also allows dogs from the same family to stay in the same pen together, which is important for us who have 3 dogs who don't do well when split up.

We took our dog to Tammy when my husband and I got married and he was very well taken care of. Tammy sent us daily updates on Kimber and treated him like he was one of our own. My husband and I highly recommend Knicks Bed and Biscuit. Your pets will get the best care while you are out of town.

Robin at Xcalibur Stay & Play are wonderful! They always take great care of my friend's dog. Robin has taken reservations with very short notice, and also kept dogs indefinitely while the owner was in the hospital and unsure when they would return home. Great low prices as well. Would highly recommend!

We have used Xcaliber twice now to board our almost 4 year old German Shepherd. Robin takes great care of our GSD and she has come home happy and healthy with no issues both times. We are thankful for Robin and know that we now have a safe place to send our fur baby when needed in the future.

Had our very large dog and medium sized bird stay for over ten days!!! By the time we can back he was protecting the owner 😂. Our animals were well cared for, loved, and we got updates whenever we asked. Would HIGHLY recommend, and the best prices in the area. Sincerely will be constantly using in the future as we travel a bunch and want our spoiled fur babies well cared for and this place more than provides at an awesome price. And the owner is so lovely and kind. Take your animals here!

My babies love it here it's a little ways away from where we live but ill take them to her all the time I know they are safe and well taken care of

I was nervous about leaving my 2 year old shichon anywhere while going to Florida since we’ve never been apart & she has separation anxiety. But I met with Robin and she showed me around and Isla liked her and by the time I left I felt very comfortable leaving her there & I decided to keep Isla there while I was on vacation. Isla was just as happy when I picked her up as when I dropped her off! I would highly recommend Xcaliber Stay & Play!!

This is a new kennel in the area. Robin was able to take my pup in on short notice and was pleasant and easy to work with. My pup hasn't been socialized very well and she let him sniff out other dogs through the kennels to work on socializing.

My dog was well cared for and came home happy. I liked that there are only a few kennels so I knew my pup got appropriate attention. They take the dogs on walks rather than just letting them out to play in a fenced in area. The only challenge was finding it - there's a no trespassing sign at the entrance and no business sign. Look for a driveway with multiple buildings/sheds before the road turns to the right.
