We have utilized many dog boarding businesses over the years for our previous 7 Great Danes. Spruce Valley Boarding is the absolute best one. They offer many services while your dog stays, nail trims, training, enrichment activities, baths, and frozen Kong treats. Utah was absolutely pampered there and so well taken care of we had no worries while we were away. They limit the amount of dogs so that they can focus on all the dogs, which are never left alone to play always supervised and they ensure the behaviour and personality of each dog is matched with like dogs so that the dogs feel supported and have the best experience. Utah’s walks improved with just 3 training sessions totally worth it. Plus her nail trim was excellent she doesn’t like us to do it but no issues with having it done here. The owner is so knowledgeable and has hired the best staff! Utah loves it there and we highly recommend it for your boarding and daycare needs. If I could give a higher rating it would be perfection.

We were away for a few days and were looking into different options for boarding our dog for the first time. What stood out the most about Spruce Valley was that they limit the number of dogs, and one of the owners on site is a registered vet tech (Krista). They allow tours with your pet, and our dog really liked Hayley right away. We were nervous about how he would do because he doesn't like bigger dogs, but they slowly introduced him to dogs with similar temperaments. There are some extra options for training or additional enrichment. They give a report about what your pet does during the day, and post lots of videos. It was great to see him having such a good time and making some friends. I'm so happy he enjoyed his time at Spruce Valley, it felt like a fun camp for him. I would definitely recommend!

We were referred to Spruce Valley by another dog boarding facility because we were looking for a force free facility with more human interaction and a smaller dog to human ratio than most dog daycares/kennels offer. We were initially concerned having a smaller dog socialize with larger breeds, but Hayley and Michele did a great job introducing our pup to various regulars and she had a great time playing and hanging out with “the big dogs”. It was also reassuring that the owners live on site and one of them is a RVT - huge bonus! Loved the report card and regular electronic updates too. Our dog loved her trial stay and we look forward to travelling without worrying about our pets care and safety. Thank you!

Bandit stayed a full week. They sent daily photos and updates. Really put our minds at ease. Bandit had so much fun. We will highly recommend them to family and friends.

My dog and cat recently stayed at Spruce Valley Boarding and I felt so confident leaving them in the care of the wonderful staff and the comfortable kennels. Every day while I was away, I was able to view their activities and well being. I have to say that both my pets looked happy, healthy and loved interacting with both the staff and fellow fur friends who were sharing space together. This is the first time we have ever left our boy in a kennel and I will have to say I was very nervous. Spruce Valley boarding came highly recommended and we could not have chosen a better kennel! We would highly recommend this place for your dog. We were nervous about leaving our yorkie because we have never left her before in 8 years, but the friendly staff and the fact that they send pics and videos made a big difference for us. We have already booked her in for our next trip.

This is the best dog daycare I ever had! My dog loves here! They play with dogs everyday and they have all kinds of toys. They post the picture and ins pictures/stories everyday.

We were looking around for a good kennel to bring our dog to and my sister suggested Spruce Valley as she also brings her dog here. They were more than willing to let us tour the facility and answered all of our questions. They're so accommodating, very hands on and our dog loves it here. As soon as we pull up she's just itching to get out of the vehicle to play with the other dogs. This place isn't just good, they're absolutely amazing. They provide updates and it's so nice to see the dogs all having fun together on their social media. It's the only kennel we will trust bringing our dog to. We brought Nanook in for a second time, an overnight stay in November while we stayed in Edmonton. The staff are very accommodating and do their best to ensure Nanook is as comfortable as he can be away from home. He gets an indoor/ outdoor run where he can come and go and they feed him his raw diet. I wish we lived closer than 3 hours away so we could attend training and classes. Highly recommend this place

PB4L and the doghouse saved my sanity. Structured play for daycare is the best set up I've witnessed. Having it be joint with a rescue is fantastic for all dog and breed specific needs. Highly recommend training and membership through them as you get your money's worth with essential tools/information and a balanced happy animal. Rescued one of ours through pitbulls for life and couldn't be happier with the help we received from all staff during the introduction process. Even when of our boys was more nervous following an injury at home with time off, I had no hesitation with dropping him off after the required rest week. 10/10 facility and group as a whole

We've taken our 7 month old German Shepherd here twice now for daycare and boarding. He's happy so we are happy and plan to attend again. I already notice a huge improvement with him around other dogs because of their structured play program. He doesn't get crazy excited when we see another dog anymore and is much more calm and collected. I feel it's been a crucial part in his training as a pup.

Best place for your dog to socialize and learn! Staff is passionate and hardworking. They treat my dog like their own. I can also rest easy knowing he is consistently being monitored and his safety is being looked out for. He plays with dogs he gets along with and anytime I've had concerns they are well attented too. He loves coming for daycare!

We have a cute, sweet, and very social blue heeler. But if anyone knows anything about blue heelers, they are stubborn. Very smart, but stubborn. So we needed a training facility that understood our frustrations. The Dog House Canine Academy was recommended to us by a close friend. Since this facility is eight houses away from home, it was a tough decision. Well, let me tell you, after a month of boarding and training that we signed up for, I knew it was the best decision I have ever made for us and our dog. The amount of love and care the staff put into training and caring for my dog is just mind-blowing. The difference in impulse control, listening skills, and just all-around obedience I saw in him just cannot be expressed in words. I highly recommend this facility. The staff cares about both you as an owner and your needs and expectations, as well as your dog and their needs. It was so nice to see updates on my fur baby on Facebook and Instagram. If I could give this place a zero I would. Do not take your dogs here. Almost all of the staff are incredibly rude, make you feel as if it is an inconvenience for you to show up when I am dumping hundreds of dollars into their services. The one lady with the short hair- this does not concern you, you were always kind to me and my dog. Workers would talk crap about dogs and their owners as they were walking in which I overheard on several occasions. Several comments were made to me which made me believe he was not well liked which made me uneasy. A young girl once said to me, “Oh I’ll go get him! Everyone else hates him but he’s my favourite”. I wasn’t sure how to respond to that. Mind you my dog is sweet and kind and although crazy because he was just one year, there is no reason to say that. My dog would always come home with more energy than he did when I dropped him off. Started to think they spend more time locked up then playing and being dogs. If I wanted him locked up I would have saved my hundreds of dollars and locked him up at home. When I got him neutered I told them ahead of time he would be staying home until he is fully healed and I kept him home for about a month. When I asked the daycare to forward my payment for the next month (SINCE I HADN’T USED THEIR SERVICES) they told me that’s not how it works and that they will be charging me for the month my dog did not attend daycare. Had I not told them this ahead of time I would be more understanding. My dog always came home and ran to his water bowl, guzzling the whole thing down (which upon taking him to a new daycare where he comes home happy and exhausted and doesn’t act dehydrated) I realize is not normal. We also payed thousands of dollars on training, where I was told apart from his training sessions with me, he would also get to work on the things he learned at daycare. I never saw any of that happening which isn’t surprising. I tried to book a grooming appointment for him as they say they offer grooming, and I was told I could book an appointment 3 weeks from then. He was there 5 days a week I’m not sure how they wouldn't be able to squeeze him in. He would cry on the way there in the mornings and wouldn’t want to get out of the car which started raising some eyebrows with us and we never returned. I did some digging and found other people with similar issues who’s reviews continue to disappear. Concerning. If you care for your dogs wellbeing. Do NOT come here.

Tia and the staff here were absolutely amazing with Nanook and us!! They were so understanding of his needs and that he needs his space (anxious and reactive). They took the time to give us a tour of the facility and where he would stay. They were so accommodating for us as we had to travel 3 hrs each way. This was his first boarding experience and out of all the kennels we did trials with this was by far the most professional and successful. He entered the front door without fear or anxiety ( no pulling or dragging like every other kennel) and was calm and curious while walking around to get to know the area. I would highly recommend this kennel to anyone looking for a great team to look after your fur baby. It was a tremendous relief to know he was in such capable and caring hands while we were gone.

I started taking my dog here for daycare a few weeks ago. I’ve tried out a few places and have had no luck in finding a place that was suitable for my dogs needs. The doghouse staff has been SO amazing! They take the time to match your dog up with other friends with similar energies so they aren’t just all thrown together. My dog leaves here so tired that he can’t even stay awake for the ride home haha!! Highly recommended.

We love bringing our little Boston terrier dog, "Daisy" to the dog house. Tia and her staff are great to deal with... And Daisy loves going there. Susie and I would recommend the Dog House to anyone!

If you’re looking for a responsible and caring person to look after your cat while on vacation, Rachelle is the best! She did everything to ensure my cat was comfortable and happy. She provided daily updates on how our cat was doing and included photos of her daily activities: relaxing on cat tree, looking out the window of her scenic acreage, sitting on her favourite sofa, looking for hidden treat etc. It was as if she was on her own cat vacation, which allowed us to enjoy ours. She loved being there and so will your cat. Thanks Rachelle, we’ll be back!

Rachelle was amazing! Daily updates and photos made the transition away from our furbaby so much easier knowing he was having so much fun. The thing I loved was our dog was welcomed into her home like one of her own. He had constant companionship with Greyson and he loved every minute of his time away. My husband and I were BEYOND happy with Rachelle and how she took care of our very active dog, Beau. She sent us pictures everyday, showing us all the things they were up to. Highly recommended! We boarded our 13 yo yellow lab with Rachelle for almost a month and she had the best time ever. Rachelle was very attentive to Chloe's health issues and treated her like her own. We'll definitely be back again when we do another trip. Rachelle has a vet tech background and pets of her own so is very tuned in to animal needs. Have no hesitation boarding your cat or dog with Rachelle. 15/10!

Luna loves going to see Rachell. Every time that she stays there she is very happy. Second Haven makes her feel like she is part of the family. I can't say enough, that it is such a relief when we are away that we have no worries whatsoever regarding her care. Bonus is that we get lots of pictures while she is there. I would not hesitate to recommend her to all my friends.

Our cat had a wonderful experience, will definitely be using second Haven again. Love the communication and peace of mind while on vacation.

I highly recommend having your pets come stay here! Rachelle is the best most attentive care giver to my fur babies ever!!! If you are not a fan of kennels, which is me… this is the perfect spot!!! One on one care, on an acreage lots of room to run and play, and the care is top notch with pictures and texts to show how they are doing during their stay!!! 10 stars!!!!

I have never had such attentive care for my 11.5 yr old Golden Retriever. Rachelle only takes one family’s pets at a time which was perfect for Toefee. She was walked twice daily and was so pampered. Rachelle thought Toefee would be cold one day so even put a coat on her! I could not have asked for a more perfect place.

This was our first time using this kennel, or any kennel at all since owning a dog. I went on a trip for a few days, I love the fact that they post daily videos of all of the dogs playing and having fun. The daily updates are so reassuring and make you feel like your dog is in the best hands possible while you’re away. They also gave a report card and were super detailed with it, this is so helpful especially when you have a young pup that is in training and learning all sorts of new things. When my husband picked him up, he would have been more than happy to stay there. The owner was extremely friendly to my husband and super detailed about their experience with our dog as well. They all loved him, you can tell this place does their absolute best to care for any dog that enters the building. Our experience beginning to end was 10/10, would highly recommend. Thank you for taking such good care of our boy, huskies are quite the breed but so much fun and lots of love to give!!! Let’s just say, Tucker was tuckered out when he came home.

I DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! My puppy was in their care for 9 days . In that time I checked the cameras and called to check in . She seemed to be doing great , being her normal puppy self . When we got home I noticed she picked up her paw and stood there . I go look to see her nail completely sideways. She wasn't limping or showing any signs of distress until she lifted that paw. Even if anything were to happen , why wasn't I told about it ? How do you not notice something like that. She must have yelped when that got torn . Probably blood too so .. how did that go missed ? Supposedly there's staff there all day until they leave for the night. So... there's many questions . So called " manager " was less then helpful, nor did he show any sympathy for the frustration I'm feeling after returning from vacation not even being on home soil for an hour to find out my dear puppy I was nervous to leave is hurt and no one cares . To say this is bulls*** is an understatement. This place was nothing but a UTTER disaster , rude employees . This guy was so quick to just flip out at me for being upset with his actions . How dare I want to question how my animal got hurt in your care . How dare I demand answers . How dare I show sympathy and frustration at seeing my NEW puppy hurt at someone else expense. Let me save you all the coming vet bill this place will give you ... DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE FOOLS!!!!

This place is amazing. The owners truly care about the dogs in their care. My dog is always excited when I arrive on site and she can't wait to get in and play. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive. They know each pet well and I never ever worry about her care when she is there. I recommend this place to everyone I talk too.

My rottie has been there twice now for a few days and when I first brought him I talked him down so hard. He had never been to daycare before in his 7 years and he has never been kennelled before. When he would spend weekends at my moms house he was miserable. He would just lay at the front door till I got back. HE LOVES DAYCARE. I am actually so shocked at how much fun he has there. They told me he went in the pool and he doesn’t even do that at home! This last stay he had he came home with a report card and had all A+’s. I love that they post videos every morning and night as well for you to check in on. And their security measures are also how I expected them to be. No one will be walking away with a dog that is not theirs. Cannot give thanks enough to this facility and the staff.

I’m the most paranoid person when it comes to my dogs, and I cannot say enough positive things. The staff here are amazing. The kindness, care and love both these boys receive every time they come for day care is unmatchable. They have so much fun, and being tired out is an extra bonus. Thank you for keeping them safe, happy and playing, we are so grateful!

My pup and I visited on July 18, 2023 and we will for sure be coming back. Such an amazing service they provide, my dog just had the most amazing time we were so happy just watching him jump in the water and swim around! This was also his first real introduction to swimming and I don’t think it could’ve gone better. Incredibly kind staff, clean facility, lots of toys for the dogs in the pool, clean changing room and reactive dog friendly. 10/10 recommend.

We’ve been here multiple times for the pool now with 4 different dogs across the visits. It’s incredible and my lab gets so so excited to be back. My friend, a dog trainer, and i brought our 3 dogs today and we had all the necessary support for a great experience. My lab is the most confident in the water and the owner was happy to allow her to swim with her friends once they’d proven they were strong enough swimmers. All of the rules of the pool are clearly outlined online and it’s worth every penny. Looking at the negative reviews I would advise you to ignore them, no one appears to understand dogs and their body language or contracts. One review clearly couldn’t read a simple contract/booking form as the rules of 3 dogs and the no show fee are all clearly outlined. The other doesn’t understand dog daycare and thinks that you not being able to attend with your dog (the entire point of daycare), along with requiring flea and tick treatment and a typical liability contract are red flags (clearly not educated on dogs or regular contract wording). The second last has a fearful dog who shouldn’t have been at daycare unfortunately and clearly blames the facility for her dog not being suited to the environment. The last doesn’t understand how boarding works, the way boarding is lower cost than hiring a full time house sitter is that the dogs are in kennels alone at night. If this isn’t suited to your dog then you need to privately hire an in home pet sitting service. Please don’t let these uneducated people stray you away from such an incredible facility with a staff who loves what they do!

We took our golden retriever Penny to the indoor pool and she had a great time! She is reactive on leash with other dogs and we liked the design of the pool building, so that she will not be in contact with other dogs. We can’t wait to come back!

AMAZING! Took our dog Luna for a swim today and wow just wow! Absolutely amazing. Friendly staff, clean and very organized place. When we arrived we were let into the pool area where it is so beautifully put together. Loved how they have it like a little beach atmosphere. It is so nice they have you book a time for just you and your dog to enjoy the pool alone. The owner was so wonderful and clearly explained all the rules for us and Luna to follow, and was right there with us during Lunas swim to lend a helping hand. They even have a little room with towels, dog blow dryer and a secure table to put your dog onto to dry off! This was the best experience ever! We will most certainly be back for swims! Thank you so very much for this amazing experience! Luna gives it 10 paws up! 🐾

This is the best dog kennel I have ever used, hands down. The staff truly love dogs and have a fantastic understanding of dog behaviour. My two rescue mutts have some behavioural issues when boarded (primarily separation anxiety) and they are able to manage that without issue. The staff are highly trained, friendly and very responsible. The facility itself is better than some hotels I’ve stayed at :P The pups have clean, spacious suites with TVs playing movies to help prevent separation anxiety, and during the day have access to indoor and outdoor play areas. There is also an option to pay for pool access at their indoor pool, which my water-dog loved! During the last stay, one of my dogs acted aggressively towards another dog in the play area. The staff immediately intervened and placed her in a kennel alone, and advised me of the incident. They were professional and calm, and clearly articulated that the safety of the other dogs was paramount and as such, my one dog was not welcome in the doggie daycare again (very understandable, and shows that my pup needs more training/socialization). Despite this stressful/negative situation, the staff were still fantastic to deal with and my two dogs were calm and happy when I arrived to pick them up. I live in Edmonton now and this kennel is worth the trip! I know they are in good hands with this company.

I can't recommend Alesha highly enough. She has been incredibly kind and patient with my energetic boy. From the moment they met, Kane has been obsessed with her. If you're looking for someone who will treat your babies like their own, Alesha is the one!

We are so lucky to have found Alesha to walk and help us out with our dog True. She is an animal lover that is kind, patient and treats our animals as if they were her own. I know my dog is loved and safe when she is with Alesha. I use the dog walking service and it isn’t just a walk and it’s done, Alesha really supports what the dog needs and makes sure she builds that trust with your pet. I love her picture and text updates and I would refer Wag This Way Pet Care over and over again! With our busy hockey schedule, especially on the weekends, Alesha takes the stress away of leaving our dog for a lot of the day. The Spruce and Stony area is lucky to have Wag This Way Pet Care in their community.

Alesha is AMAZING!! She looked after our two cats for two weeks and they love here. She sent us pictures every day and went above and beyond with our pets. Very fair price and a huge two thumbs up. I’d highly recommend her to anyone. You won’t be disappointed.
