Always board my cats with Heather - she always looks after them like they were her own. Would definitely recommend Tinto Kennels if your looking to board your cats.

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years after my mum brought her beloved dog here and she was always so excited to see Heather! Jump forward to now, three more dogs and two cats that love her… it’s more than a boarding kennels/cattery, it’s a holiday for the animals. Not sure why I’m reviewing Tinto really as her amazing reputation precedes her and Heather’s reputation is impeccable! Gutted not to be able to get the dogs in this summer, but we’ll always come here first!

Heather is a wonderful host and our collie Cora is very happy at Tinto kennels. When she comes home it’s like she’s been on her holidays and immediately settles back into her normal routine.

Ideal home away from home for your dog or cat. Run by an animal lover who also takes in rescue animals. A place that is truly focussed on animal wellbeing and not on money. Hard to get hold of on the phone but that's because she's tending to the animals in her care so please don't give up and email or text instead. I'm very glad we found this place when our regular kennel was booked up. Our dog seemed much happier when we collected her and it certainly gave us invaluable piece on mind on our holiday. Highly recommended.

My dogs love going to Tinto Kennels. They pull me in through the gate every time. Heather gives individual attention to all the dogs and cats.

We were worried about boarding our border terrier as she isn't too good with other dogs but we were so glad we chose tinto kennels as Heather is fab with animals.

Couldn’t be happier with We Love Animals. Spent two weeks away from flat and our cat and they were perfect. Not only did they care for our cat’s food and litter but they made sure she was happy and played with. It really was apparent that she loved spending time with Mew. The fact that we knew someone was caring for our home while we were away was also a bonus. Angela dropped us an email everyday with pictures just to keep us up to date and keep our minds at ease. Before we left we had an issue with accessibility to the main building, and she was great when dealing with that slight curve ball. We Love Animals were open, communicative and professional before and throughout our holiday, allowing us to actually enjoy our time away.

Would give 10 stars if I could. Angela is the most reliable cat sitter, doing all you would expect and more. Our cat adored her, and Angela is also on hand in case of cat-related emergencies. Would 100% recommend her to anyone. Daily photo updates, and has been just super professional. Thank you Angela!!

We regularly book Angela's services to look after our 2 cats and we could not recommend her enough. She is a flexible, reliable and dedicated cat sitter. We know our cats are in truly good hands which has made it easier and less worrying to go away. Having news everyday (and sometimes photos) is fantastic and has even allowed us to enjoy more holiday. Angela has looked after my kitty for two years and has been absolutely incredible with her. Arya has behavioural issues and needs daily meds; Angela was amazing with persevering giving these to her despite the occasional cat attack! Angela's service is amazing value for the amount of care you get - I'm nervous about leaving my pet so I get daily texts with photos. Plus free plant watering etc, and when there's been a flurry of fur Angela has even vacuumed so there's not a mess to come home to. I'm sorry to have moved away from Edinburgh as I'm sure I won't find another cat sitter as caring and thoughtful (and who my notoriously suspicious cat will trust!) as Angela. 10/10 recommend!

An amazing service. I was very nervous leaving my cat while I went away but after I met Angela in the pre house visit I was put at ease. It is clear how much she loves animals and my usually timid cat went to her straight away...even climbed on her back. My cat was taking medication which was no problem for Angela and they sent me daily updates including pictures. I would not trust any other company to look after my girl! A***

To be able to leave my cats at home instead of taking them to a pet hotel is really great!! I’ve been really lucky to find We Love Animals. My cats love Anne and when she visits them sends me updates so I can be relaxed that they’re well looked after. I feel I can totally trust her and Angela and the system is very convenient.

Searched for years for a cat sitter we felt we could trust and came across We Love Animals last year and they have been sitting our cats ever since. From the first meeting they have been extremely professional and quickly earned the trust of both our cats - not the easiest of things as they have studiously ignored everyone else who has looked after them for us! Appreciate the daily emails and photos and all the other little touches they provide. We have no hesitation in recommending them for pet sitting duties.

Candyfloss Cats have been brilliant both times we used them. Their online booking and profile information work really well. It's lovely to see photos and have daily updates about how your pets are doing while you are away. I have to give them special thanks for stepping in at the last minute this Christmas too when our plans changed.

Anne and Angela provide a wonderful service. Dependable, professional and great value for what they do. It's good to know my cats are looked after so well while I'm away – I love the photos and updates too. I can't recommend them enough –Thank you both!!

I can't even begin to describe how wonderful Anne and Angela have been! I desperately needed a pup sitter multiple times while staying in Edinburgh but usually do not trust anyone to look after my precious pup cargo. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to stumble upon these ladies. I and my pup, Penny, absolutely loved them on first meeting with them. I have anxiety; my dog has anxiety...and there was nothing but a complete feeling of relaxation and assurance with Angela and Anne, trusting that they would take excellent care of my fur baby. Penny was always happy and excited to see them! And they went above and beyond, arriving early, staying late when I was running late, taking Penny all over Edinburgh for walks and exploration, snuggling with her, feeding her, and sending a smorgasbord of photos of Penny's adventures to me. I would use their dog-sitting services again in a heartbeat! If you have any apprehensions about leaving your fur babies with a stranger, dispel them now. Anne and Angela will quickly become your and your fur babies' friends. Anne and Angela are the sweetest, kindest, funniest women around, brimming with Scottish charm and energy, and I literally can't thank them enough for helping me out and loving my wee lil Penny like I love her. They are true animal lovers. :) And I only wish I could have spent more time with them. Thank you, thank you!

Artemis Exotic Pet Boarding was absolutely brilliant would highly recomend to anyone. Jade was 1st class with my beardie Ralph and cares for the pets unlike some places that take them in and dont bother with them. Kept upto date with pics and videos. Proper heat, lighting and keeps the pets well fed.Any time im working away or on holliday ill use Artemis. No option for 10 stars as 5 is not enough. Our tortoise had a week with Jade. It was such a relief to know that she was being looked after by someone with genuine interest and enthusiasm for all animals. Jade kept us informed of her health and sent us pics regularly. We will be booking all of our tortoise's trips with Jade from now on!

Jade was so nice and couldn't be more helpful. We brought our 3 ferrets to her for their first time away from us. She has a lovely set up with lots of toys and things to keep them occupied and stimulated. She spent time with us getting to know the boys and their routines before we left. The picture and video updates were brilliant and the boys looked so content and happy throughout. When we arrived to pick them up, they were still quite happy to stay and were climbing all over Jade for some attention. One of our ferrets is a rescue and doesn't quite warm to other people, but he seemed to love her! None of our ferrets seemed pushed in any way to come home with us! I would definitely be recommending Artemis Boarding, Jade obviously has a genuine love and interest in giving the animals the very best possible care and attention. Couldn't recommend enough!

My 2 boys spent 10 days with Jade whilst I was on holiday and think they are gutted to be back home! Jade's setup inside her home for ferrets was phenomenal and I was kept regularly updated with videos. Service was very professional, cannot recommend enough. Will definitely be using Artemis again and would recommend to all :)

First time we've left our bearded dragon but definitely won't hesitate leaving him in future with Jade. Frequent pictures and videos when we were away and now he's home a happy and healthy dragon. Thanks.

Jade's been absolutly amazing with our gang of 4 ferrets - she's our go to now for whenever we need to go away. So pleased to have found someone we can trust - especially now a couple of the gang are older and on regular medication - and they get to stay indoors, which is so much better for them since that's what they're used to at home. She's been really thougher with getting all the info she needs from us about their routine, eating habits/times, medication info, vet info etc. She has a ferret herself too, so knows what she's doing with them, with is really reassuring. And she clearly looks after them so well and seems to enjoy having them - sometimes I wonder if they're having more fun with her than they do at home! lol. She comes up with stuff for them to play with, and she's really getting to know their wiered little personalities. She is able to provide a cage, provides blankets etc, and will cook chicken for them (their go-to treat!) - and her house is right near the moterway, so it's really simple dropping them off....and she keeps in touch, sends whatsapp videos and pics of how they're getting on, which is really nice. Couldn't reccomend more :)

Our 3 ferrets had a great time on their return visit to Jade's while we were on holiday. Jade is so thoughtful and attentive. We appreciated the regular videos which reassured us that they were having a good time. They're already booked in for their next visit!!

Cookie and Jinx our two ferrets stayed for a week with Jade for their first holiday and they had a blast! Jade kept us updated with videos every day and I could see they had settled in so well and were happy running about playing with toys and each other. They were very content and well looked after. I would definitely recommend Artemis boarding to others and Cookie and Jinx will definitely return for future holidays. 5 star ⭐️ service! Thanks 😊

Tortie absolutely loved his stay with Jade. He was so well looked after and given loads of attention, interaction and stimulation. He was less of his grumpy self and enjoyed dandelion treats and outside adventures in a safe enclosed space. We, his servants, were kept updated regularly with all of his antics while we were away. Artemis is a fantastic boarding facility and Jade is so knowledgeable, with her passion for the animals she is looking after shining through. 100% recommend.

Biggar Hounds have been walking and boarding our dog for a couple of years now and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Both Kirsten and Ross obviously love dogs and take great care of them. They are lovely people but also very professional and they always do what is best for the dogs eg make sure that dogs walked together are ones who get on well with each other, change the length or times of walks on very hot days etc. Our dog absolutely loves them and is always happy to go on his walks and board with them. We have peace of mind when he is with them, knowing that he will be happy and well looked after. Thank you both for everything you do for Toby.

Lily our Saluki has been a member of Biggar Hounds for just over a year. Saluki's, like all dogs, need socialisation with different breeds and Biggar Hounds has allowed Lily to grow in confidence whilst having loads of excercise and fun. She absolutely LOVES her time out with Kirsten and Ross and all her doggy pals. They are a big part of her life and make ours easier knowing Lily is being cared for and happy. A bonus of having your dog on regular weekly walks with Biggar Hounds is the availability of dog boarding in their lovely home. Again, Lily has so much fun which is important when we away from her. We would recommend Biggar Hounds to dog owners as their service to you and your dog will be exceptional.

Friendly, caring and structured approach to getting to know both dogs and owners. Our dog loves her long walks and runs towards Kirsten and Ross like they are part of her family. Biggar Hounds are completely reliable and professional and I feel totally relaxed knowing Malcolm is in safe hands. The photo updates are great and Malcolm always comes back relaxed, tired and happy. They are really flexible with dates and will accommodate last minute requests. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for dog walking or home boarding.

Kirsten and Ross provide a truly fabulous service. Lottie my gsp/lab cross loves her weekly mini adventures with the other Hounds and is settling into occasional overnight boarding at their house. The initial checking procedure was robust and useful to both parties to ensure Lottie would fit in and be happy. Both Lottie and I are excited and delighted on walkies days. Kirsten and Ross are our extended doggy family.

Highly recommend Biggar Hounds to take great care of your pups. Basil loves Ross, Kirsten and strawberry he looks forward to his day care with them and his new doggie pals. I know he’s safe and happy.

Pippa always has a great time out with Kirsten and Ross and all her doggy pals. She is always so excited to see them and they have helped get her more comfortable around other dogs over the past year. We get regular photos of her out enjoying herself all over the local area. Kristen and Ross are both great and it was clear from the beginning how much they know about, and care about, the dogs they walk and look after.

Can't sing their praises enough. Kirsten & Ross take time to get to know your dog before introducing them to the pack, and then they become one of the family. Buster can't wait for his adventures. We trust Biggar Hounds implicitly and he comes back happy and exhausted 👍 …

Ziggy is a Cypriot street dog rescue and comes with a bundle of issues including an often deep anxiety aggression response to new men ... To say it was love at first sight for him with both Kirsten AND Ross is an understatement. He loves his walks a d adventures with them and their level of professionalism in meeting his needs but ensuring all dogs are happy and tired out little sossiges is second to none - cannot recommend enough!!! We have been using Biggar hounds for our dog for several months. He has a weekly group walk and has boarded with them too. He absolutely loves Kirsten and Ross and is super excited when they come to collect him! I love that they regularly share photos of their walks and it’s clear that he is having a great time. He has really benefited from socialising with the other dogs. Kirsten and Ross are obviously very knowledgeable and incredibly devoted to the dogs in their care, taking time to understand their needs. I would highly recommend Biggar Hounds!

Any time we go on holiday we always book our bunnies in with Frances. It is like their second home. Frances always looks after them so well & is very passionate about her job & clearly loves spending time with them. We can’t thank Frances enough and it gives us peace of mind when we are away knowing that the bunnies are well looked after.

Jerry and Bob love coming for there holidays , Frances spoils them and they have so much fun. Frances is sp good with the animals it's its so reassuring know they are in the best hands when I am on holiday.

I am trying to find the best description but it’s really hard. Simple: EXCELLENT! Our Gizmo (hermann tortoise) enjoyed his lovely holiday. We got plenty of pictures/videos about his adventures. It’s not a pet boarding it’s a HOTEL! :) If you are planning a holiday and you have to left behind your small loved one, I can highly recommend this place. Your little one will be in the greatest hands. I took a look around the place, and the all I can say: It’s just brilliant! Nice organized place, bunnies, tortoises and guinea piggies like a little zoo. I love it. I am absolutely sure we will book again soon.

Excellent experience. Frances explained everything, took good care of our animals and kept us updated. The other animals in her care also clearly loved it there! We will be returning next summer all being well.

Our bunny had a weeks holiday at McMarshys. She was a pampered bun with plenty of exercise time everyday. Frances was very welcoming and showed us about the place which is always very reassuring for a bunny mum. Got lots of pics to update us during the week which was fantastic. When collecting her we got to see how relaxed she was at her holiday home, don’t think she wanted to leave. So glad I found this place. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again Frances x

This is the best place to send your animals. Frances looks after them from start to finish and nothing is an issue for her ! She even upon request to try for us, Got all three of our bunnies bonded as we had just lost our 4 th rabbit ! They are happy here and have the full garden to jump about as well! We also took our tortoise here. She is very reliable with a great service will 100% be back!

Our rabbit Wombat had a chill and full of love holiday at McMarshys. Frances regularly sent us the video and photos, this is very appreciated, as we miss wombat during the trip. But definitely, wombat forgot us, he made friends with his neighbors, walk around the garden, happy hop a lots. Seems like his home now, wombat said he will be back. Highly recommend. Thanks again!

This is our horsefield tortoise's second stay with Frances and we are so happy. Frances is hugely knowledgeable and loving towards all the animals in her care. She provided him with a great temporary set up as ours is too large to be portable and sent regular updates on WhatsApp. Tortie had a wonderful holiday and has been very well looked after. 10/10 recommend

Can’t recommend Brian enough, my dog is a regular for daycare and boarding and I honestly wouldn’t want to leave her with anyone else. Brian sends regular pictures and videos via WhatsApp and I can see how much fun she’s having and how chilled out she is. I also see how happy she is to see Brian when I drop her off so I know that’s she’s happy and having a great time.

Can't recommend Brian enough, he offers a 1st class professional service. Our dog Gizmo was homeboarding for 2 weeks, he slept in Brian's daughter room. We were sent daily updates with photos & videos. We could see he was happy playing with the other dogs & going to run free field also out for walks & playing in back garden. Will definitely use Brian again he is so accommodating when our flight was changed he was happy for Gizmo to stay an extra night. It is so reassuring to know that you're fur baby is happy & being taken care of 5 stars all the way

I was really nervous leaving Cookie (June 2023), as she was 7 months old but Brian did a fantastic job with her as all the animals are treated as part of the family. We were sent via WhatsApp photos of how she was doing as this is so reassuring that our dog was happyand being taken care of.. I would 💯 percent use again. Thanks Brian for taking care of her

Paws at West Struther very kindly agreed to look after my young dog at short notice recently, to enable me to attend a funeral locally on a day when weather might have considerably delayed my journey home to him. It was the dog’s first experience of any form of day care. He was immediately welcomed by name as we arrived and went off happily. Una very thoughtfully sent a text a while later, to say how well he had settled, which was reassuring, as were the Facebook photos later. Una was mindful of his inexperience and had contingency plans to separate him if he became over-awed, but he seems to have had a thoroughly enjoyable time. He has a good memory and I’m sure that he would be excited if he thought he was paying a return visit. For my part, I would feel very relaxed about leaving him there again.

Such an amazing Doggy Daycare. My chappie gets so excited to go he pulls toward the door. The staff are warm & friendly, and the doggies look so happy. The place is easy to get to, setup for a fun day for our angels. Highly recommend & will use again and again. Thank you Paws :)

Fantastic place. The staff truly love dogs and care for them. My 4 month lab, Holly has been going since she had her second innoculation and kennel cough jab. She doesn't even look back, she can't wait to go. Whether it's two hours or a full day, it's great socialisation and you get a happy but tired dog back. They have a chute, see saw and a paddling pool so what's not to love?

I took my crazy 11 month old puppy here for his first time, worried how he was going to get on and what mayhem he would be up to, but each one of the staff are absolutely amazing right from the moment we arrived. They were more than happy to show us about before we left so that we were 100% sure Dexter was going to be settled and have the most fun- which he sure did. There is lots of space for them to run about and endless amounts of toys for them to play with which was perfect. My pup had a fantastic time and came home all tired out. I can’t recommend enough and I can’t thank Paws enough for their excellent care and attention. Dexter is already excited to go back for his next day. Thank you Paws!!!

We brought our 6 month old pup for 8 weeks of training with Barbara. We thought it was excellent and she covered a lot in the short space of time. We also got invaluable tips from Barbara.
