We have used many different kennels over the years. There have been good, just okay and terrible ones. You always worry that your pet is going to be locked up in a cage for the duration of your absence and given the most basic amount of attention. These guys are different. They send you pictures of your dog playing with other dogs and give them snuggles and attention. They love what they do and you can tell. They have even helped us give our dog medication. Can't say enough good things about them.

Ed and Laura are the best! Just like sending the Kids to camp! We have 3 dogs and they all absolutely loved it here. A home away from home for sure. They had a blast with the other dogs. Thank you so very much.

Laura and Ed were so nice and friendly, and even tho Hannah really didn't really want to be there, I felt she was in good hands. They were able to let her out often, and she apparently "hung out" with their dogs. Much better there than at home alone when we have to be away. Thanks for giving me peace of mind!

These are the best people EVER! They not only care about the fur babies ,they care about the human's . I highly recommend this place no matter if it's for a few hours, Over night or weekend getaway they will take great car of your fur babies!

Taylor is the best dog trainer ever. She showed extreme love, care, patience and kindness to our timid 1 year old pup, Hank. Hank’s confidence has grown and is no longer afraid of the leash or going on walks. He listens to our commands and is a new puppy. We are thankful for the training Hank received from Taylor and the staff at Stay & Obey.

I can’t recommend Taylor enough as a dog trainer! From our very first session, it was clear that she has a deep understanding of canine behavior and a genuine passion for helping dogs and their owners succeed. I took my dog to Taylor for training at Stay and Obey. I am so happy with the results! Jack first went for day training at 5 months old and learned basic commands, the most helpful is following his “place command”. At 11 months, Jack went back for recall training. I cannot be happier with how well he is doing. It was a joy to have him off lease at a family members home (a yard he is not familiar with), and to allow him to run yet return immediately when called. A huge thank you to Taylor, and the stay and obey team where Jack loves to go to play!

Let’s just say I have given them more then once chance. We all love our fur babies so much. Most of the employees are great. This is the 2nd my dog has had something happen to him while in their care. Last Thursday he came home with mostly dried blood all on his right side hip. I literally live 2 minutes from S&B. After calling and stating my concerns, the office manger says she would look into the situation. I cancelled all grooming appointments and I knew at that moment they wouldn’t do a darn thing. Received phone call this past Tuesday, stating they reviewed the tapes and didn’t see anything happening. Just typical dog stuff. 🙄. We had to shave him in order to make sure the wound didn’t get infected. What’s extremely sad is that I honestly do believe that things like this will happen. But to deny it on their end is insane. Also, your FB page is sad. You only post pictures of dogs and the owners have to pay for it. Any special treat given, owner pays for that too. Definitely will never recommend S&B to anyone.

I had a particularly bad experience where my dog was bitten; The manager is lying and overreacted when explaining the scenario to me. I took photos of the dog's muzzle, and I can contradict her and accuse her of being a liar and negligent. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE and therefore, I never plan to leave my dog for care. The STAY & OBEY report contradicts the veterinarian who subsequently saw the dog. The state of the dog: lazy, sad, tired. He doesn't look like usual. Time will tell and therefore if someone in the future has the same thing happen to them, then they can count on me for a Class Action lawsuit.

What a great idea Day Care for dogs is! Bandit can't wait to join the fun. The Stay and Obey staff take excellent care of our pets, provide safe environment, fun activities, and a bonus of nice human affection. He doesn't just have fun though; he also gains important socialization that helps him stay friendly and open to new experiences. After just a half day of play, Bandit is sound asleep in the car before we get to the end of the block. Five stars!

Loving the clean and spacious new facility. Our Company loves coming to daycare, and we hope her new baby brother loves it just as much. It has gotten pricier for us now though with two dogs, especially when we need to board them both. Wish they offered additional dog discounts as well as daycare by the hour for those ugly days when the pups just need a few hours to run around.

I love the fact that when I pick up my pup up from daycare she's exhausted and has had an awesome day running wild and free with all the other dogs there. There's no crates to stay in and all the dogs in the big room are having a blast with their tongues hanging out going wild. I love stay and obey and so does my pup!!! And I boarded her for one night and had absolutely no complaints. Everything was great.

I highly recommend Niki and Up North Pet Service! The level of care, the reporting, the daily photos and communication is excellent and well appreciated. I take great comfort in knowing when I'm away that Kitty Gato is well taken care of. My kitty loves Niki too! I especially love receiving the photos of when she is napping on Niki's lap. :-)

We were new customers and on fairly short notice Niki was able to meet our pets and then care for them for several nights. We were able to enjoy the holidays without worry thanks to her excellent service. It was incredibly affordable and our cats were quite happy! I would recommend her to anyone, and will be a repeat customer!

Frieda loves to have Niki visit, and we get pictures so see just how happy they are. Niki has been able to accommodate some schedule changes due to family emergencies which is greatly appreciated. The whole family, including Frieda, is so very happy that we found Niki's Up North Pet Service.

Niki is great! She takes excellent care of my dog and sends a report at the end of each visit so that I know how much fun they had. Niki provides a variety of services which has been beneficial when various things come up at work and I need someone to drop in on my dog or run her to the vet. She is reliable, great at communicating, and loves each animal as if they were her own. I cannot recommend Niki's Up North Pet Service enough!

Niki at Up North Pet Service provided a clean, pet friendly, home-like environment for my Bernese Mountain dog, Quincy while we were away. We have never left him for this long and were worried about how our lovable dog would react. Thankfully, almost every day, she shared pictures or videos of Quincy playing or eating, which eased our minds and confirmed how well she was taking care of him. Niki was great about making sure he had his medications as needed. I would highly recommend Niki and UP North Pet Service to anyone in need of kenneling services in the northern Michigan area.

Niki did a wonderful job taking care of our 2 year old border collie! We were in a pinch with last minute cancellations from others and Niki took us right in! Her kennel was very clean and organized and she kept us up to date on our pup’s progress!

Niki is always available to watch our animals. Even with short notice. She goes above and beyond every time. I love that she checks in when she arrives and always leaves a little note about what she does and what my pets are doing. I also love the pictures that she sends while she is here. My dogs absolutely love her and her toys/treats. I never have to worry if they are taken care of. She doesn’t just let them out and rush them back in. She really takes her time and lets them run off their energy. Her prices are very reasonable. I am so glad that we have someone we can trust with our animals and in our home. Niki deserves 5+ stars for her communication, dependability, passion and affordability. She sends detailed messages with pictures after each visit that makes you feel comfortable being away from your best friend. Her pricing is fair and she explains it in depth with options. We appreciate Nikki taking care of our two kitties. She sends us pictures and updates everytime she checks on them. She seems knowledgeable about pet care and responds to text messages quickly. We have used her pet sitting service two times so far and both times went well.

I have used Pet Sitters Plus, LLC for over 8 years and highly recommend them. Kathy and her team of wonderful people do an exceptional job. For the service they provide, they are reasonably priced. I consider my dogs family, and want them to have the best care and life experiences for as long as they have left. I have had fur-kids during this time period who have not always had the best start in life. A few have had special health considerations (glaucoma, vision impaired, and cancerous tumors). I have found Kathy and her team to be knowledgeable and more than willing to take responsibility for special feeding schedules and medication schedules. My fur-kids adore the people who stay at my home and come by for mid-day visits and walks. I am always left detailed notes of each visit and nightly home stays. My home is always well cared for and I have the peace of mind that someone is checking on my fur-kids and home well I am gone.

I have been using pet sitters plus for nearly 15 years now. Kathy and her team have been absolutely wonderful with taking care of my kitties. I do not entrust my fur babies to just anyone’s care. The peace of mind I feel when I’m out of town is priceless and I would recommend this company to anyone I know (as a matter of fact, my best friend started using them). My primary caregiver Diana even took care of my Oliver (cutest black and white kitty EVER) when he needed medication twice a day. Highly recommend!!!

I've personally known the owner of Pet Sitters Plus, LLC for over 20 years. Kathy and her team of pet whisperers have been in business for many years serving the NE area of Grand Rapids, including Rockford, Comstock Park, Ada, and in my home area of Plainfield Township. Our pets are very much a member of the family, and PSP has been very good to pay attention to details for our senior pet to our newest pet family members ;). They are a one stop shop for pet sitting, dog walking, pet day care and they also take care of our flowers, plants, even grab the mail while we are away. I can't say enough how much it means to have a worry free time away from home knowing her professional pet care team is watching our fur-babies and our home. They are the best kept secret on the NE side of Grand Rapids, thank you so much for all you do Kathy!!

I started using Pet Sitters Plus in October 2017, and Kathy has brought great assurance and relief when I have to be away from my kitties and chickens. One of my cats has heart disease and takes a number of medication every day. Kathy keeps good communication so I don't have to worry while away.

I live in Rockford, Michigan and I called Pet Sitters to be my dog walker while I was at work. I never had to worry about our dog or my home. They are extremely responsible and always accessible - even to pet sit for those last-minute trips away. And since our dog walker was a dog trainer, she really worked on helping our rescue dog learn the proper walking etiquette. Something that really sets them apart is the constant communication. They leave lengthy write ups on what your pet did during the day, similar to a good child daycare. I highly recommend them for pet sitting services.

We've used Kathy for over 20 years and think she's the best. We call her the "dog whisperer" because she really understands dogs. She has cared for our dogs when we work, when we're on vacation, and during the holidays. We trust her implicitly not only with our precious dogs, but also with our home's security and contents. So appreciate that she is local! She leaves everything in better condition than when she arrived, and our dogs are always happy when they're with her. While we're away she'll send daily updates and even videos so we stay connected to our pooch. We think she's the AWESOME! NOTE: I just noticed someone gave Pet Sitters Plus a 1-star review based on an interview rather than actual service, which was strange until I noticed that the reviewer has given six other 1-star reviews and never a good review about anything.

I called and scheduled a meet and greet prior to hiring this pet walker service. The walk times are vague within an hour so be careful if you are scheduling a mid day potty walk time. Also the owner is not local she hires out pet sitters around the Lakeshore area. So no one is overseen to make sure the pet sitter is doing what they promise. I told the pet sitter I had a nanny cam but not set up yet and she acted real nervous and had many questions about if and when and where would I set it up, kind of weird behavior if you ask me. Decided to go elsewhere for dog sitting and overnight boarding. S. Vanderhyde Muskegon, MI

If I could give Kathy and her team 11 stars I would. I don't know what I would've done without them. I had a new puppy (Prim) that needed exercise and training. Kathy came to the rescue. For the past four years, PSP has always been reliable, dependable, trustworthy and loving to Prim (and she is a stinker). The PSP team always goes the extra mile to make sure Prim gets the exercise and care she needs. I never have to worry when I go out of town - in fact, Prim sees my suitcase and gets excited because she knows she is going to have some fun. I recommend them all the time to my friends and co-workers.

Pet Sitters Plus is amazing. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take such excellent care of my fur babies. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of care you receive. I highly recommend Pet Sitters Plus to anyone who loves their fur babies as much as I do--they will be in great hands.

Great place! James does a great job of taking care of our girl and is very caring. One of Millie's stays, we had brought one of her bigger stuffy's that she was obsessed with, it had got torn open and James went the extra mile to sew it up for her so she could continue having it during her stay. We were shocked when he told us, and knew he would always have our business. He takes care of your dogs like his own!

James is so caring and good with our pup! Jojo gets excited as soon as we get close while still in the vehicle and runs right in to see James as soon as he's let out of the car! It's such a relief to know that Jojo is in such good care while we're at work!

Our 2 labs love it there! James takes excellent care of our fur babies whether it's day care or overnight!! Exceptionally clean and personal.

New and clean facility. James was wonderful with our dog, Freya! She was miserable after coming home from the previous kennel. After J's, she was happy and relaxed when she came home. James obviously has a big heart for dogs. She can be an anxious pup and he knew how to take care of her and make her feel safe. We are thrilled to find J's Sitter 4 Paws! Highly recommend!

We were visiting the area and needed a last minute place to board our 10 year old lab. The local veterinarian recommended J’s Sitter 4 Paws. This is a new very clean facility. We were so happy with the wonderful attention our lab received. James is a top notch guy who truly loves caring for pets. After 4 days in the kennel our dog came home so nicely brushed and clean. Dewey received lots of attention and for that we are truly grateful! Thanks James!!

We were so pleased with our pup's first (not last!) stay at J's. She was incredibly well cared for. The place is clean, the owner attentive, and our girl came home immediately settling in instead of being a wreck for a couple of days. Awesome place - so glad to have found it.

EXCELLENT…please read… We took our pup Sunny here so we could go on a small weekend vacation and I must say, Sunny came home a happy dog! The owner you could tell loved pets. I knew he was in great hands with him. Thank you for your hospitality. Sunny and family.

You may have to get on their waiting list, but The Doghouse is well worth it. Their huge play area is perfect for active play, especially important for high energy dogs like ours. He comes home tired! We get a report, at pick-up, of who he played with, what he did, any behavior issues. Our rat terrier had a problem with playing too rough. They brought in a trainer to teach him to read and respect other dog's signals. They also taught him to walk off leash with a group of dogs. There is no end to the care and love they give each and every dog.

This has to be the absolute best place in the state for dog day care. Most of the day is outside, they play with similar size dogs. The best part, might be how excited the staff is to see your dog when you drop them off. Get on the waitlist - it’s worth it

Our dog has been to other daycare’s, but none of them compare to the Doghouse. She pulls as hard a she can to the doors when we arrive and she loves handlers! Even though she can’t talk, I just know she would rate it 5 stars. She has made so many new dog friends and I would 11/10 recommended the Doghouse to anyone!!

We love The Doghouse so much! Our dog has been going there for 5+ years and every time he comes through the door he's greeted by name with excitement. He boarded there when we took a 2 week vacation and I felt totally comfortable knowing he was in good hands. We're excited to start sending our puppy there in a month or so!

Not very useful service anymore unless you have lots of money and time to jump through their many many entry hoops. It's more like an exclusive club than an actual beneficial service. I attempted to re-enroll my GSD after a few years away and the requirements just to interview the dog along with the wait-list were no go. They treated us like we were absolutely asking the impossible for the dog to have an (expensive) day care slot now & again and come back in a few months or never. The irony is my dog is actually* featured * in a picture on their website. But we were treated like nope, no room at the inn...get outta here stranger. They also tack on many many fees. They charge you to even to interview your dog to see if they might let it stay. The high overhead of the estate like premises probably has something to do with the high costs too.

Love working here. Awesome place, awesome people and even more awesome dogs!

As a former dog handler at a day care in MN, I really like this place. We've taken obedience classes here, boarded our dogs here, and bring them to day care. Every aspect has been great. They have 24 hour, on-site staff for boarders, and even take your dog home with them if they're stressed out while boarding. The different levels are great with so much property and the freedom it offers the dogs if they can handle it. (We'll get there one day with our dogs. Ha.) The walks they offer are an added bonus. One of our dogs is deaf and has a hard time understanding dog language, so we really appreciate the extra attention she gets when she goes to day care, since she has a hard time finding play buddies.

We've been doing training with Kim for the past year or so and it's completely changed my dog and i's relationship. We love the doghouse

I am disappointed in the level of care for my dog. I was impressed with the facility and the fact that they had so much room outdoors and had been to several other dog day cares. The Doghouse cost a little more than others and was further away from my home. I made the trip, just leaving earlier, and was willing to pay a little more. My very easy going and obedient dog was miserable. It poured rain all day and I learned that the dogs are left in the rain unless there is lightening. There is no place for them to get shelter. When I picked her up they reported that the handlers would not be giving her a bath because of the way she behaved when they tried to rinse her. Although I have taken her other places to get bathed and they have all reported how easy and sweet she was. I asked how she behaved, because I have not seen any negative behavior from her since I rescued her 9 months ago. All I was told is she was stressed. I pay for dog day care to receive positive benefits for my dog, not negative ones that stress her out. The "handlers" are not friendly to the dogs, they just seem to handle them. If a dog is stressed it doesn't take an expert to know you should talk to them in a soft voice and offer some reassurance. It is not worth the money for my sweet dog to have a bad experience and adverse affects. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Our lab loves this place!! We regularly use them for daycare, boarding, and have used their training facilities. Hudson loves to be outside so we love that he has all the room to run around and go on off leash walks! Most other daycares only offer a small enclosed outdoor space, so the large yard is a huge selling point for us. Hudson runs to the door and gets so excited every time we pull up. It's obvious the handlers love dogs and care about the dogs as if they are their own. We would recommend this place to anyone who's dog loves to play outside!

Alex took great care of my dog and was very patient with my slightly spoiled girl who hasn’t stayed away from home in years. He sent tons of pictures, videos, and text updates so I never worried about how she was doing. She enjoyed daily walks and lots of interaction with other friendly dogs, and they have room to wander the facility and the large yard with lots of human interaction so it’s close to staying at home. Alex is an excellent option if your dog isn’t comfortable being kenneled all day, we’ll definitely go back!

Our dog loves to go to Iva Road Dog sitting. When he knows we’re going, he follows me from room to room with a look that says “Let’s go, I want to go see my friends.” Alex sends pictures and videos throughout the stay. Alex is friendly and reliable. I highly recommend him.

Stella had a great time with all of her new friends! Alex kept her happy and feeling loved. She is a tired puppy after all of the fun! We will be back!

Our pups went to Alex for the first time this week. We loved all the updates with videos that we received. My elder, more timid dog was having a great time with the other dogs. Alex is a very caring dog care provider.

My dog Hurley stayed for 3 days and I could tell he was a very happy dog. He was well cared for. I wouldn't want to take my dog to anyone else. I received pictures everyday which I thoroughly enjoyed getting the updates. You can tell by the picture he was a happy boy.

Our dog Max has always received great care here. Alex sent daily pictures of Max on walks and playing with other dogs when we were on vacation. Knowing that Max was well cared for while we were away was very reassuring to us and helped us to fully enjoy our vacation!

We got a dog two years ago. It was either we take him or he went back to the animal shelter. We took him and he's a great dog but we couldn't leave him with anyone because he would bark and pace until we came and got him. So my wife and I basically couldn't go anywhere. We found Home Away From Home while searching for dog sitters. Last week we took our dog out for a meet and great and all went well. Yesterday we dropped him off for over night to see if he would stay without being near us. Amy did a great job. He stayed overnight and she said she had no problems with him. It's so nice to know that we now can leave Vader with her during the day or for overnight stays. We highly recommend her for your dog sitting needs.

We use Amy several times a year. The dogs never look back when we drop them off. They have a big yard to run in and spend as much time as they need inside. Her home is immaculate and her love for dogs is amazing! She is the best.

I love boarding my dog Birdie at Home Away from Home because it’s truly a home! The only time she see’s a kennel is meal time to keep the puppy peace. The rest of the time is spent snoozing on their pet friendly furniture or playing together in the huge (and constantly picked up) yards.

You can trust to leave your dog here. Great service from a great business owner. Amy has a passion for dogs like you would for your own. Very friendly and safe environment.

I've had Paula the MT Pleasant Pet Nanny look after my cat a few times and she's done a FANTASTIC job! I always get a pic or two every time she comes to check on her, a text with an update, or something about how she is doing. Tom and Val of the Pet Buddy Service are the "best." I have used their service for a number of years and have nothing but great things to say. My dogs are so happy to be at home while I am away because they know Tom will be here to play, feed and love them, especially my old girl Charlie. He is patient and understanding of all the dogs needs, is an excellent communicator and extremely trustworthy! If you need pet care the Pet Buddy Service is the way to go! Highly recommend!!!!

The Pet Buddy Service is simply AMAZING!!! We’ve been using them 2 years now on a regular basis. We have been gone 1 day up to a week at a time. We are so happy we found them for our dogs and guinea pigs. We travel often and with them we can actually enjoy vacation knowing our pets are in great care! Our pets get fed, taken out, go on walks and have snuggles. Our dogs have high anxiety so it’s nice they can stay in their own home. Their communication is stellar! One of the things we love most are the texts and pics at each visit of our pets. Our pets love them and so do we! We won’t travel unless we have The Pet Buddy Service! Highly recommend! 🐾 🐶

Tom and Valerie were amazing! They sent daily picture updates, took him on walks and handled his meds. One of the days he was being a butthead and wouldn’t come from under the bed. I was nervous I was going to have to get a family member to go get him but Tom and Valerie managed it. I was able to have a great vacation and knew my dog was in great hands. I highly recommend them if you need pet sitters!!

My dog is 3 years old and I have done business with The Pet Buddy Service since my dog was a puppy! They are so kind, reliable, and trustworthy. They spoil my dog - to be honest, my dog probably likes them more than she likes me! :) They send me a photo of her every single time they come to take care of her! Tom and Valerie are fantastic. When they are pet sitting, I enjoy my time away without worry because I know my furbabies are in good hands. They are terrific about sending updates on my pets, and they take care of my home as well by checking the mail and watering plants when needed. I used Pet Buddy for the first time for my 13 year old dog when I went on an 11 day vacation last week. For the last two years I didn't leave her for more than a few hours so I was very nervous leaving for so long. I didn't need to worry because Tom and Valerie took such good care of her I don't think she missed me! They spent a lot of time with her each visit, handled meds and her special needs, and sent me tons of pictures so I wouldn't worry. I highly recommend Pet Buddy Service!

I am so happy with this service. After boarding my two dogs for my last trip I decided to have pet sitters come in and care for the dogs plus my cat. So much better, no worries about picking them up from a boarder and last time they were boarded my older dog could barely walk even though he was with senior dogs it was too much. He needed steroids to get him better. Keeping them home was stress free for them and me. This service sends pics and updates with every visit. GREAT, GREAT SERVICE!!!
