Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

Leslie consistently demonstrated outstanding communication skills, both initially and throughout the entire process, and I would gladly give her more stars if possible. Leslie arrived as scheduled, and instantly the animals fell in love with her and Bennie. Our cats love our dogs but usually won't come in the house when a strange dog is here but they didnt even hesitate to come meet Bennie. Bennie was very calm and a true gentleman. Leslie sent pictures throughout the sit reassuring us the gang were all getting along and enjoying her and Bennie's company. She read through the welcome guide before we left as well as we showed her around. It was very nice getting the chance to know her a bit before we ledt the following morning. We felt very comfortable knowing our home and pets were in good hands. It is very apparent when you meet Leslie that she truly does love animals. When our Molly decided to hide, Leslie called us right away because she feared Molly may have gotten spooked by a firework going off in the neighborhood and escaped under the gate. I felt so bad for Leslie because she blamed herself because it was on her watch. I have trackers on all my pets and it turned out that Molly was still in the house and just hiding really well. She can curl up.pretty small. Lealie took our Lab to check the walking route and see if Molly was there. When I called and told her Molly had to be at the house because her tracker showed her there, she returned to our home and Molly hreeted her as she came in the front door. I was very appreciative of Leslie's phone call though because she didnt wait hours to call, she searched the yard and house and called right away. We decided to cut our trip short a day and asked Leslie if she minded if we came home a day early. We let her know we didnt expect her to leave early and made sure she was comfortable with our decision. As a pet parent, it is imperative that we remember the sitters are also on vacation and we didnt want to intrude on her time. As it turned out, we ended up stopping by the ER on our way home where my husband was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Unfortunately we had both the RV and my car and I needed to figure out how to get them home. I reached out to Leslie who offerred to give me a ride back to the hospital after I dropped o e vehicle off at home so I could retrieve the second vehicle. BTW, the surgeon was able to repair my hubbys aneurysm and he will be coming home soon. Leslie was a comfort during this frightening time and even stayed an extra day to help out and care for our home and pets. She was a teue blessing. Leslie left the house spotless along with so.e fresh flowers for me when I got back from visiting my husband. If you get an opportunity to host Leslie in your home, rest assured your home and pets will be well loved and well taken care of. We.would welcome.Leslie back anytime. She is not just a pet sitter, she is a new trusted friend.
Kelly and Pat arrived the evening before I left on my trip so we were able to have a nice visit and get to know each other a bit. They asked many questions about the dogs and the house so that they would feel comfortable with the pet sit. Piper and Zuria were very comfortable with them. They sent pictures from dog walks, kept me informed and promptly notified me when there was one simple issue that they handled very well. I’m not able to speak to the condition of the house on my return because a second sitter came right after Kelly and Pat and before I came home. They spent time with the new sitter so that she would know how to take care of the dogs and negotiated the transfer time. Kelly and Pat are a lovely couple and very interesting to talk with. I feel lucky that they were able to take care of Piper and Zuria and would love to have them back again.
Lani is an excellent Pet Sitter and housesitter. Communication was easy, our pet Cleo appreciated her loving care. We came home to a relaxed and happy cat. I would happily ask Lani to housesit again.
Natalie and Christian were dream pet sitters while we were out of the country for 2.5 weeks. From start to finish, they were reliable and professional, with excellent communication. They had took great care of our dog and chickens and left the house and car in great shape. Plus, they’re just a really sweet young couple. We’d highly recommend them as house sitters.
Kelly and Chris are lovely people and we loved having them at the house! They were very engaged from the start, asking questions and wanting to know all the details on our pets. We were completely comfortable going away and didn’t worry during our trip knowing our kiddos were in such great hands. K & C gave us pics & updates as requested, and we loved seeing our pets have such a good time with them! They left the house in as good or better shake as it was found, laundering and folding linens and tidying up so well we could hardly tell they stayed here! They were communicative before the sit, during, and after. Kelly and Chris were the ideal sitters in every way. We’d welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to others. Thanks you two!
Erin was a great pet sitter who took such good care of little Chino. She was very reliable, kept us up to date with videos/pictures, looked after our home and kept it neat and tidy. She even left a thoughtful gift upon our return and was flexible with our travel plans. We would definitely recommend Erin for anyone looking for a reliable and friendly pet sitter!
I had the pleasure of having Tracey and her two children as house sitters, and I can't praise them enough for the incredible job they did. From the moment they stepped into our home, it was evident that they were dedicated, caring, and attentive to every detail. First and foremost, Tracey's approach to caring for our house and our beloved pets was nothing short of excellent. She has an innate ability to connect with animals, and it was clear from the daily updates and photos that our pets were happy and thoroughly pampered. The house was kept in immaculate condition, and they treated it with the utmost respect as if it was their own. Moreover, Tracey demonstrated remarkable responsibility and initiative when our AC system unexpectedly broke down. Without hesitation, she arranged for an HVAC company to come and fix the issue, taking time from her day to ensure our home was taken care of. Her willingness to front the repair costs until I could reimburse her was an act of kindness and trust that you rarely see. Tracey and her children's thoughtfulness and thoroughness provided me with peace of mind during my time away, which is priceless. I returned to a home that was just as I left it, if not better. Their stay was characterized by an extraordinary level of care and I was particularly impressed by how they left the house in perfect condition, with happy pets to welcome me back. I wholeheartedly recommend Tracey to any future hosts. Her reliability, compassion, and the ability to handle unexpected situations with grace are commendable. I would welcome Tracey and her children back to house sit in a heartbeat – they are exactly the kind of house sitters that one hopes for on this site! Thank you, Tracey, for everything. You and your children are welcome back anytime!
This was my first time using house sitters and Shanen and Ryan were wonderful. She sent me pictures of Calla and game me updates on Calla’s activities. She would be welcome to pet sit for me anytime!
Bard and Kim are amazing house sitters and pet care givers. I would recommend them over and over. I wish I could add numbers to the scale. They would get a 10+. Bard and Kim were super easy to work with, efficient, self-sufficient, and considerate. They took immaculate care of my home; it was definitely cleaner after they left! I would recommend them without hesitation over and over.
Megan and her partner were INCREDIBLE pet & house sitters during my 5 days away last month. I received consistent communication in the form of updates & photos and I had the true sense that Megan was invested in the wellbeing of my animals and truly enjoyed being with them! My house was CLEANER than I left it (immaculate!) and she left a sweet card thanking us upon our return. Truly the best sitting experience I've had thus far, thank YOU so much!

They work excellent with dogs with special needs. We've taken multiple in our rescue there and have complete faith in them. In fact, there are some dogs we will only take there b/c they work so well with them and the dogs have such high needs. We know we can always count on Southern Hound.
Our bulldog mix, Angelo has separation anxiety. We confidently drop him off if only just for a night or a whole week to stay with the girls at Southern Hound. We have full confidence he will be taken care of each and every time, and can’t wait to get in to stay.
We were in a pinch and a friend recommended Southern Hound. We had a very pleasant experience. We added a dog bath before he came home and he smelt better than our usual groomers make him. We will be back!
I had read such great reviews and everyone had such great things say, but I personally didn’t have a great experience. When I had picked up our dog they told me that he had diarrhea nonstop for the past two days and I was not made aware nor notified. I was frustrated immediately knowing he had been sick and no one contacted me. When I picked him up and took him home he threw up and was acting lethargic and would not drink water nor eat his food and that is very unlike him. I watched him all day and he would not drink any water and it was concerning. I called his vet and I took him in a day after picking him up from Southern hound retreat and they told me to bring him in since they were concerned. Spent around $400 on testing for blood work, pancreatitis testing, and the apt itself plus the hydration injection. He was dehydrated and had to receive a liquid injection to help with keeping him hydrated. The vet showed me that his gums were dry and that is a sign of dehydration and advised for them to give him that shot to help him recover. As well he has to be on a bland diet for a couple days. I am glad we caught it in time, but am extremely frustrated with my whole experience with southern hound retreat and how things were handled. I read a review on Facebook as well where someone had a similar experience with southern hound retreat. Our dog is the most important thing to us and I will not be taking my dog back there after this experience.
I left my 2 boys for a week, big puppy and older jack russell, who had never been kenneled before. I was reassured beforehand by a friendly visit and tour. The ladies were great with my boys. I contacted them twice while out of town, and they are very reaponsive. I am so happy with the service and care my dogs received. I definitely recommend Southern Hound, and will use them again!
They took great care of my Kojack. He is a Husky mix dog. I will use them for any boarding needs and highly recommended them.
They always take fantastic care of Shadow when he stays with them. I feel like they love him like family and they play with him a lot while he's there. I have no worries about leaving my fur baby with Southern Hound Retreat when we go out of town.
Awesome place! Grooming and boarding available. Great price when compared to ther places and services offered. Also the best staff! I feel very comfortable leaving our dogs there.
We have kept our past dogs here and still use them for our new Border Collie. They treat her like one of their own and we appreciate all they do. Great place.
They take personal attention to each pet. I love hearing the stories they have when my pup stays over. I know my German Shepherd is well taken care of there.
This was Layla’s first experience at a daycare. I had researched and gone back and forth trying to decide. So happy with Petzu! We were greeted by Leslie and the entire family as we walked in our first morning! So welcoming and Layla immediately felt comfortable (something all dog moms and dads hope for)! She stayed the entire day and I was provided several photos of her with her new friends! They put my mind at ease and even more so when I picked her up as Layla wasn’t ready to leave! She came home happy, tired and so content with her day. I immediately booked out the rest of the month. Thank you, Petzu family for making Layla part of yours <3
You cannot find nicer people who love your pet than at Petzu!! We have absolutely no worries when we drop them off and they get very excited when they see where they are, they LOVE going there! I would HIGHLY recommend Petzu!!
We absolutely love Petzu! Our pets love coming for long stays. They are excited to see their friends and are definitely loved on. We never worry, 100% recommend Petzu!
This is my dogs happy place! We never feel guilty about taking weekend trips or going on vacation because he loves being at Petzu! Could not have a better place to take your dog and know not only will they be taken care of but they are having a good time too!
Petzu is the absolute best! We have a very energetic and a little nervous bernedoodle that does so well here, when she’s not done well boarding at other places! It’s so easy to trust the owners and employees, and they are the best at communication and sending photos of your pup while you’re away (this is a photo they sent!). I couldn’t imagine taking her anywhere else!
Petzu is an awesome place to take your fur-babies to play and stay overnight. The owners are really nice and has treated Mason like one of their own. He loves his second home/family. Not to mention the prices are great too.
The folks that run this place are wonderful with animals. I am sent pictures or videos of my dog daily. I highly recommend Pet-Zu.
Wonderful facility and small business. My 2-year old lab spent a week here while I went out of state. The booking process was simple and easy. When dropping off my pet they again asked if there were any special request, they assured me that my dog would be safe and that I had nothing to worry about while out of town. Throughout the week the staff sent pictures and videos of my dog playing with others. Petzu offers an experience that many other boarding facilities do not and a staff that truly cares about your pet. I strongly recommend Petzu for all your dogs needs whether it’s for a day or for a week out of town!
I absolutely dreaded boarding my dog at a kennel but understood that you simply can't take your pet on every little getaway. After looking around, Petzu is the ONLY place I'm going to trust with my pet. They genuinely treat your animal like it's their own family pet and give them tons of attention. The facility is way nicer than your average concrete kennels and much cleaner. There are some stipulations laid out in their booking website (no fence climbers, no aggressive biters) but it is totally reasonable for what kind of safe and fun pet environment they are trying to achieve. Seriously, there is no other boarding service quite like this and I can't recommend them enough.
I cannot say enough good things about Petzu in Moore SC. The staff treats your pups like their own. Our pups were very well cared for and we were constantly updated during our time away with pics and notes about how they were getting along. I highly recommend Petzu to anyone who really cares about how their pups will be treated during a short time away.
