We've just completed a 2 week sit with the absolutely adorably wonderful Poppy. Once we gained her trust she was responsive, intelligent, affectionate and just totally gorgeous and we miss her already. The house was very comfortable and Lisa and Clive provided us with a beautiful room with lots of space for our stuff so we felt very welcome and at ease. The area is lovely and new to both of us so we enjoyed the location giving us the opportunity to explore new territory - Gloucestershire is a beautiful county and we enjoyed the scenery very much!
Gillian's communication was very poor. She changed the date and time of our zoom meeting prior to the house sit many times and didn't seem to know her own diary. Also, and this is dreadful for their own cat, Gillian and Christian did not tell me that they were leaving a day earlier than we had agreed and Gillian has reviewed me as not organised!! They left the evening before the house sit was due to start and then were in a panic because I arrived at 5pm on the day arranged which they seemed to think was late. The poor, and adorable cat, Nermal had been alone for 24 hours with no food due entirely to their lack of communication. Despite Nermal being well looked after by me; and Gillian emailed me to say that they had come back to, “a very well-groomed cat”, I get only 3 stars for pet care. The vet story is also a communication problem, I emailed them that she was scratching and asked shall I take her to the vet, to which I didn't get a reply for a couple of days so I contacted Trusted Housesitters vets who recommended that I take the cat to the vet just to make sure, which I did and let them know, for which I got a grateful email. I also left the house much cleaner than when I arrived. I did let Gillian and Christian know during the zoom meeting before the house sit that I'm low tech and do not have a smart phone and still they seemed to expect me to send them photos and videos every day. Their expectations of a house sitter are completely unrealistic and Gillian seems to like to panic. Her review of me does not match her emails to me which were much more positive than the review. She was grateful in her emails that I had acted quickly to take Nermal to the vet. The only good thing about this sit is the very lovely cat. I most certainly would not sit for them again, very high stress people.
We enjoyed our visit to Perth, Carole and Alan made us so welcome, sharing lots of valuable information with us about places to visit. Their house is very comfortable and Tommy is a joy! He is independent but loves playing, chasing the laser pen and, once he got used to us, coming for cuddles. He is a beautiful cat with a great personality. Thanks Carole and Alan for making us os welcome.
Randi is an easygoing person who despite having a busy family to wrangle was extremely gracious during the time it took me to figure out a few aspects of the house ( patience of a saint!). The cats provided a plethora of entertainment via the usual pair - one will ignore you while the other won’t leave you alone however if you bust out the cat rod they both become engaged pretty quickly. By the end of your sit, they’ll both escort you everywhere and carefully inspect pretty much anything you’re doing 😂. The home is clean, quiet and within 15-20 minutes walking distance of pretty much anything you want including transport links all over the city. Highly recommend, thank you for letting me stay!
We had an absolutely delightful time sitting for Geoff & Jane and hanging out with Macy, Harry & Maro. They were wonderful hosts, gave thorough and clear instructions, and we felt welcomed and at home. Their home is beautiful and well-fitted for a comfortable stay. We spent many hours enjoying their beautiful garden and view over the fields. Harry & Macy were fabulous dogs and ranked high on our 'favorite dogs list.' They walked well both on and off the lead, and were calm and mostly laid around during the day, with some ball-throwing and play mixed in. They got on wonderfully with our kids and are well-tempered dogs. We highly recommend this sit and would gladly come again.
Our stay with little Archie was lovely. Claire’s place is in an ideal location in the cute town Cowaramup and is 10 mins from Margaret River, 10 mins from Gracetown and surrounded by beautiful winery’s. Lots of awesome tracks to walk Archie in the area and the apartment has everything you need :)
