Wow - where even to begin?! Ken and Jane were an absolute dream to have in our home. They obviously have a lot of experience with animals and were incredibly conscientious, thorough, and caring. Even before arriving for the sit, Ken and Jane made sure they had all the information they needed, even asking about things I hadn't yet thought of! :) They were great about being in touch while we were gone - sending sweet photos of being out and about with Daisy and giving fun reports of what they were doing. Daisy was clearly very well cared-for and we came home to find our house cleaner even than we left it. Ken and Jane are simply very good people we would be honored to call friends. We could not recommend them more highly. AND we would be thrilled to have them come and stay with Daisy again - anytime!
Jenn’s home is lovely and clean with a big comfortable bed, comfy couch, nice patio, fully stocked kitchen with a variety of spices and modern appliances. She printed out a very thorough welcome guide that was super helpful for watering the plants, taking out the trash, etc. She was quick to respond to any questions I had. Their home is in a great location very close to Trader Joe’s and target, and the beach. The fish and Iris were very easy to care for. Unfortunately, I did not get to interact much with Iris because she was unhappy without her family around. She stayed in her room mostly and I just tried to keep the house quiet and calm.
We had the most amazing time at Peter & Nadya’s house! So much so, we stayed on the island longer than we were supposed to and house sat again! Peter & Nadya gave us all the info we needed regarding the house and pets before they left for their trip & we were always in contact via WhatsApp. They were super accommodating and helped us in any way they could. Their 3 dogs became our best friends! They loveeee kisses, cuddles and any outdoor activity (so bring your energy!) We can’t wait to come back again!! Lots of love Jodie & Theo Xx
I cannot say enough good things about Jessica and my sit. Jessica was great with communication from day 1. We were both very flexible with arrival and departure days/times, which worked out well for both of us. Jessica was very inviting and made me feel welcome in her home. She went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. Her home is in a quiet, safe neighborhood, is clean, and has everything you could need. As for her babies, Eva and Wall-E are amazing. They are not your typical evasive cats, they follow you everywhere, bring you toys to play with, and like to help with whatever you are doing. While their “assistance” may mean a task takes a bit longer, you will smile the whole time doing it. They are absolute lovers and spent their time lying in my lap, helping me make the bed, assisting me with my work, etc. Do yourself a favor and sit for these lovebugs if the opportunity arises. 😊
Rustie is the best boy ever 😭 I’m actually going to miss him so much! He’s so easygoing and loves pets, cuddling next to you on the sofa and playing with his occasional zoomies! Kevan was amazing, he’s very kind, his communication was great and his clear love for Rustie shines through. He has amazing taste in films and music so his house is a real gem where you can find interesting things everywhere. Although it’s next to the highway I didn’t find any problem at all with the noise either, and I do believe it’s more comfortable to have a car to move around easily in case you’re needing to go to other parts of the city
Annie and her housemates were just brilliant! As for trusty Rusty, I can not say enough wonderful things about him. He is one of the best-trained dogs I've ever sat for. He would wait for me during our walks out if he got too far, and would always come back if he heard his name called. He knows commands and is so great to snuggle with. He is quite precious and unique. There was a great community vibe and her housemates were quick to answer any questions I had. Her place was tidy and well-kept. The long walks were relaxing and just what I needed. I had no troubles and am excited to housesit for Annie again!
Pabu is such a cutie, I was happy that he let me pet him, I love hugging him! The air dusters are there to prevent him knocking things off surfaces! :) I hope he will be well enough and doesn’t have to take medications soon! His home is beautiful and in a good vibes location with lots of local cafes, stores and restaurants. Thanks Leah for all your kindness! I’d gladly housesit here again ❤️

The Grand Fur Lodge has a team of incredible and caring people. We had an unfortunate experience with a sitter over our holiday vacation and ended up getting him transferred here to the Grand Fur Lodge. I can't say enough about how incredible everyone here was throughout the process. They made the process as stressless as possible and you can tell they genuinely care about you and your animals. Can't thank them enough for giving us the peace of mind of knowing our fur baby, Mac was being taken care of well while we were away. Highly, highly recommend and will absolutely be using the Grand Fur Lodge to watch our baby again if we ever leave town.
Our dog has been attending day care here for about a month now, and is LOVING it! He excitedly whines in the car on the way and runs in as soon as we get to the door. The staff have all been amazing, and we feel really great about leaving Cairo here with them. It has been great for our pup to run off his energy a few days a week since both of us work from home.
Update 5/29/2024 - I just wanted to add on that we love absolutely everything about Grand Fur Lodge, not just the grooming! Dutch has also gone for daycare, boarding, and even one of their month group training sessions. He absolutely loves all the staff there. I really appreciate that the staff has a mind toward dog behavior and training. They make him behave as much, if not more, than we do at home. All of the staff supports our training efforts toward Dutch having to be calm before he can go say hi to someone, or that he has to wait before he goes through a door (which can be work with an energetic doodle!). Most doggie places that I've worked with in the past don't work on training with boarding/daycare clients at all! We are moving out of the area and will really miss Grand Fur Lodge! We love Grand Fur Lodge! Our pup, Dutch, is always so excited for his grooming appointments and comes home looking and smelling great. All of the staff is super nice and prices are reasonable! Highly recommend.
The Grand Fur Lodge has been nothing but a blessing to me. It almost seems wrong to share because I want them all to myself :) I moved here a few months ago after living in the same town for ten years. My dogs went to a doggy daycare there that they loved, but that was the only one they had ever been to. Needless to say, I was so nervous to start them somewhere new. The staff of The Grand Fur Lodge made it the easiest, most heartfelt transition ever. They kept a close eye on my dogs and how they were with new dogs and a new location. They were and still are patient with them, love on them constantly, work with them, and ensure their safety and health. Their customer service with humans is also outstanding! Very communicative, educational, and just flat out sweet people. 10/10 will continue with this facility as long as I’m here!!
Our three pups had a wonderful first boarding experience with Grand Fur Lodge! They were great about giving updates and answering questions while we were out of town and were extremely accommodating for our dogs needs!
I brought my Mini Aussie here and they did a wonderful job grooming him! He was happy and not nervous at all when we came back to pick him up. I recommend their services!
Our pups are so shy and have had a difficult time making puppy friends. However, the team at Grand Fur has been working closely with our fur babes to increase their confidence and courage so that they are beginning to feel more at ease around their puppy peers. Penny and Leonard enter daycare with their ears and tails perked up and at the end of the day, come racing out with smiles on their faces, bouncing , prancing, and happy to have spent the day being active. Adam is a fantastic trainer. In just a few sessions, I have already noticed a big change with our headstrong rescue pup. Rather than quickly teaching him basic commands, Adam is taking the time to go at our pace. He is teaching me how a dog's mind works, how to read his body language and training me on how to be an owner of a rescue with challenges. Highly recommend.
Always working hard to keep the place clean, they never fail to have all the dogs being able to play with each other; especially the shy ones. This is the place to bring your pup if your looking for a calm, controlled place where your pups can run out that energy and be a dog
We have had really good experiences with GFL. They really work hard to make a safe and fun experience for pets, and we have our pup in once a week and the staff are all really nice. Would recommend
Great staff and excellent care for our fur babies. They treat them like their nieces and nephews! Very secure with double security latching and pets always on lead when moving around the property. They take care of everything. The add-ons are a real bonus for the pups who are rambunctious and playful.
we have two dogs that can be very tough to deal with are not particularly social, old and don’t really like unfamiliar people. It can be hard to find somewhere that will take them and care for them when they’re Such grumpy old men. Laurel acres is always happy to take them not worried about their attitudes and cares for them. This is one of the only places we trust with our tough little guys.
We visited here before bringing our kitty, because we had never left her anywhere but at home, but she needed medication while we were out of town. The employees were so sweet and let us take a look at the cat room, which made me feel SO MUCH better about leaving her. Just brought her home, and she is her silly self with not a care in the world haha. We will likely be back again!
Sookie was a 1st timer at almost 15. She’d never been to a boarder. The Cattery was clean, quiet & I know she was kept healthy & well cared for. Plus, she had food she had to have medicine in & that was no problem for them. I can’t say enough good things about Megan. She was an angel! She made my request of the bottom floor happen and did many other things to alleviate my fear and worry. The only mar was the weekend woman who checked us out. She was rude & abrasive. Wish I’d gotten her name, but I was a wreck because she wouldn’t let me see Sookie.
We had a last minute first time visit the staff was extremely helpful. Juni is an Australian cattle. Loves to herd.She did great.

Can't recommend them enough. My boy Stevie needs a little extra care, and wears a muzzle in public. I don't have to worry when he's at Laurel Acres. All of the handlers there are qualified and trained. They are also very responsive and give me sweet pictures of my boy when I'm away!
Laurel Acre is amazing. I've been boarding my dogs here for several years every time we went on vacation. My dogs are always taken good care of. They alway come back to me happy and healthy. I would highly recommend their service to other pet parents.
My pets are always excited when I bring them here! They pay attention to how our pets are doing and have given us a call when there are any issues that are medically significant. They have stayed there for up to two weeks and were in great spirits when I came to pick them up! It is a good bit of a drive out in the sticks for either location but in my opinion it’s worth the trip.
They did an amazing job with my Roxanne, very friendly when I arrived She had me answer a few questions as she made a record. Then I went and got my dog came in and they took her back. And called me when she was ready in about an hour or so awesome place. Thank you Kristen

A dog’s hide-a-way is the perfect place for a safe and healthy outdoor environment for your pup. Dogs run free through woods and streams, and some easy obstacles for their exercise and mental stimulation. There are always plenty of humans in the vicinity of the dogs to insure the safety of the pups. They are a very professional and caring staff. If you want a safe and healthy outdoor environment for your dog, this is the place for you. Our family likes A Dog’s hide-a-way better than the indoor and crated experience of other day care businesses.
This was our first time leaving our family dog Mochi for boarding care, so we were a little bit nervous about it at first. But after meeting the kind staff, seeing the location in person, and having flexible boarding options made us feel so comfortable and at ease. Mochi had such a good time and we cannot express how happy we were knowing she was in such great hands! We also really appreciated all the updates that we received. We cannot wait to continue to bring her here!
We recently moved. My poor dog has had the worst separation anxiety. I couldn’t go anywhere without him. But it was getting to my mental health as well. We are only on day 2, but this has been a godsend. He is sleeping through the night. He's not clinging to me. He is finding peace. I am finding peace knowing that he is being taken care of when i'm working. I could cry just talking about the relief this place has given our little family. Update: we are on week 2. He was an escape artist. And I thought they would kick him out. But they actually found ways to keep him safe. And he is doing so good! And when we are home, he is getting more independent. I can’t thank these people enough. This place deserves 10 stars!!!
AMAZING! The property is great, lots of opportunity for running, climbing, and playing in the creek. The staff is super friendly and engaged with all of the dogs, and I love that they post tons of pics and videos on the Instagram page. They are super responsive to text messages, and often include a photo update!
We highly recommend A Dog's Hide-A-Way for both doggie daycare and boarding! We've been taking our dog here for a few years, and she absolutely adores the staff. We know she's in good hands here. The vast outdoor space allows her to run to her heart's content and the indoor areas are great for extreme weather days.
I can't think Karen and her staff enough for having our dog Mali for 3 days. From the meet and greet, to the staff, to knowing that Mali would be safe. She was able to sleep inside and I know she had fun, because she came home exhausted. I would not hesitate to board your pup here, it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The best doggy daycare in town! This place is truly special. With more space to run around and play than a dog could dream of and the nicest owners/staff. Gary and Karen truly care about the well being of the dogs and go above and beyond for them. My little Barry goes there for daycare and I’ve boarded him as well. They’re so generous with their home, allowing him to sleep in the house and cuddle when he’s anxious. I cannot recommend this place enough! Your pups will be in great hands at A Dog’s Hide-A-Way.
My dog loves attending daycare and comes home sooo tired. The staff is friendly and easy to get a hold of if I have questions and they consistently update their IG daily, which I love because I get to see what my girl is up to. I haven’t utilized their boarding services but have had such a great experience with daycare that I plan on boarding in the near future. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun environment for their dog!
This is a great place for your dog (s). Pristine clean asphalt paths over 5 acres with fun and engaging things for your pup to do. Whether it be always supervised swimming in the creek or pond, climbing over large logs, crossing over a fun bridge complete with a tunnel, digging in dedicated areas, your dog will never be bored! When you pick up your dog they will sleep for days because they are so tired! There's even a large dog washing tub to bathe your dog when they leave.
If my dog Maggie could write this review, she would say that A Dog's Hide-a-way is her favorite place in the world. She loves going to play for a day and staying overnight. She thinks Gary and Karen could not possibly have done a better job creating the ultimate daycare and boarding for dogs. And all her human friends who work there deserve huge kisses. So thankful to have discovered this place!

We used a Dog Gone Good Place for playcare and boarding for over 12 years for our 2 golden retrievers until they passed and for the past 6 years for a golden retriever and border collie mix. They do a great job providing quality care and pay attention to details when boarding. Lynn and her staff are great and we appreciate their friendly service over the many years. Highly recommend!

All my beautiful hair got shaved off :( Update: His hair has still not grown back. When I brought my animal here to have him groomed, I specifically asked not to cut his hair. When I received him back I was told that the groomer just decided to go ahead and give him a fade cut. This is caused a lower quality of life for him due to his inability to properly regulate body temperature. It is appalling that you hire an employee groomers that don't understand types of dog hair. I took him to the professional groomer that had been grooming him the rest of his entire life and she was appalled at how horrible his hair looked and how damaged it now is.
100%, without a shadow of a doubt, the BEST doggy daycare I could’ve ever asked for. Every time I drive into the parking lot in the morning, the audible excitement my dog expresses when he sees where he’s going says it all. The owner, staff and their system is amazing. They’re extremely communicative and knowledgeable. I’ve often asked them for advice and every time they deliver. You won’t be disappointed with them. “A Dog Gone Good Place” is a truly fitting name, it’s the best. Thank You!

Attempted to bring my 6month old puppy. The lobby here can be chaotic, two unleashed dogs ran in while I'm checking in and both agreed aggressive to my pup. This place may be fine, but from my perspective it seems like chaos and outreach mentality rules and they just let them be crazy. I am taking my business to a day care that offers balanced care and legitimate socializing, not just chaos.
Our dog has gone here for years and we love it. She is in daycare but we also board her when we travel. They take very good care of her. She comes home tired, which is good for a husky. Staff is great, drop off and pick up are efficient. They also have grooming services, which is very convenient. Highly recommend if you are looking for daycare or boarding.
We have our golden doodle groomed every 8 weeks. He always looks great, smells good, and is ready on time.
I don't trust my dog's care to just anyone. After visiting multiple dog daycares I chose ADGGP. The staff is great to work with, I've never had a negative experience with anyone. Everyone is 100% professional and seems to really enjoy their job. Bobby grooms my dog and I highly, HIGHLY recommend him. He gives my dog the cutest cut and I get so many compliments from people on the street about his cut and how nice he smells. He's by far the best groomer I've ever worked with. I've boarded with them on many occasions and have always come home to a happy, healthy pup. Never a moments trouble. I'm sorry for the folks that had poor experiences but I can honestly say that I am 100% happy sending my dog here.
I had a week long vacation out of the country and was very thrilled when I found Lori! I have never left my bunny with someone before for that long and was super nervous. Lori made me feel much better about the whole process by giving me access to the bunny room camera and her extensive knowledge on rabbits. I got to check on my little guy the whole time I was gone! Will definitely use Whisker Wise boarding the next time I’m out of town!
My three guinea pigs are very spoiled and precious to me, so it’s hard for me to leave them when we go out of town. I am so glad to have found Whisker Wise! Lori takes excellent care of my girls and responds readily to texts when I inquire about how they’re doing. They stayed with her for over two weeks this summer while we were visiting family and upon picking them up I could see they were happy and healthy (no lost weight, which happened at a previous place we boarded them at). She even gives them fresh veggies/tomatoes from her garden! Definitely recommend Whisker Wise. :)
Our guinea pigs Teddy and Domino were very well cared-for during our week and half away this month. The owner is super responsive to texts, understanding and responsible, and even sent us a cute video of our babies. :) Would definitely use again! Oh, and it was super affordable too!
Whisker Wise watched my two bonded English Lop Rabbits for about 17 days. Lori did such a good and attentive job in caring for them! They seem healthy and happy as can be. I also really enjoyed that Whisker Wise Animal Care and Boarding has cameras set up over the rabbit areas so you can check in on your rabbit at any time. Lori is also extremely kind and definitely cares about the animals themselves. When my rabbits ran out of a supplement/treat Lori went out and bought some more. I would definitely leave my Rabbits with Whisker Wise again!
When I went out of town for a week I was glad to find a place like whisker wise and someone like Lori to take care of my bunny. I've never boarded her before so I was a little apprehensive, but Lori assured me she would be very well cared for. She even offered to place her in a pen with a camera. It was so nice to see her on video whenever I wanted so I could check up on her and be able to move the camera around to see who she was rooming next to.The size of the pen looked very spacious and nicely set up with blankets. I would very much recommend Whisker Wise for any of your pocket pets and will definitely be using them again in the future!
I love Whisker Wise Animal Care & Boarding! Lori is absolutely wonderful and takes such good care of my rabbit. I never have to worry about him when I go out of town. She gives him the attention he needs and gives me updates on how he is doing. The setup she provides for rabbits is really nice and big. I used to board my bunny with my veterinarian, but I much prefer Whisker Wise. I have no reason to ever go to another boarder again!
Lori takes amazing care with the animals she watches. I was anxious to leave my newly adopted bunny for a week, but when I came back my sweet Maggie was even tamer than before! She has an amazing set up for bunnies (super cool modified room!) with toys and boxes and even little sitting pads for the bunns. She's super flexible about pick up and drop off and is very kind! She is awesome! Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience! Our senior bunny was well cared for during the 10 days we were out of town, and I loved being able to check on her via webcam. We will definitely be booking again the next time we go on a trip!
Having recently moved to the area, we were a little nervous with finding a new place to have our rabbits stay while we were out of town. Lori was great to talk to and put me at ease- additionally having a camera where we could view our buns to check in on them was a huge plus as well! I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the care my dog received while staying with Toby. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that she and her dogs Raven, Jonah, and Wally were a wonderful fit for my pup. As this was our first time leaving him, we were understandably anxious, but Toby quickly put our worries to rest. She is truly a godsend, radiating warmth and kindness. Knowing my dog was in such loving hands made all the difference. During his stay, he had the time of his life! The way Toby interacts with her dogs and my pup is nothing short of special. Saw Wild Pups on instagram and that it is a local, women owned business. We wanted to support! Our dog cannot spend all day adventuring but, we did a meet and greet with Toby and are able to board with her pack. Our dog loves getting to hang out with the Wild Pups and Toby is fabulous to work with. I don’t know how she does it but, the dogs she works with are so fortunate. Words can't express the love my dog, Roo, and I have for Wild Pup Adventures. I moved to Portland in early 2020 and tried out a few different services, but I knew when Roo came home his first day on his adventure with Toby that this was the best one. Roo is a 3-year old golden retriever with a bossy attitude and endless energy and I have personally never seen him so tired as when he comes back from his weekly adventure. Toby, the owner/trainer, is truly a dog whisperer. Not only has she helped me with individual training sessions for Roo, but she manages to keep 6-7 dogs at her full attention the entire time she is out in the wilderness with them. Toby takes them to different terrain and places around Portland every week and her knowledge of the forest/beach/anywhere is incredible!! You can truly see the love in my dog's eyes when we walk up to her van and in all of the amazing pictures that she takes during the day. I moved to Bend recently and was SO sad to not be apart of WPA anymore. If anyone is looking for the best thing you can buy for your dog, I always recommend this service. I would give 150 stars if google let me, we will MISS YOU TOBY THANK YOU!!!
There are no adequate words that encapsulate how awesome Wild Pup Adventure is!!! Our wild pup Lucy has been adventuring with Toby and team since she was six months old and it's by far the best thing we could have ever done for our favorite furry family member. First of all, Toby is an incredible leader and small business owner. Her knowledge of dog care, training, wilderness, and safety is beyond impressive. The outdoor treks that Toby plans and executes for these pups make the rest of us who are stuck at work all day very jealous. We get to live vicariously through the beautiful photos that Tobi captures and shares with the parents after each adventure. If you have an energetic dog at home and want to do something special to improve their quality of life, I highly recommend signing them up for Wild Pup Adventure!
Wild Pup Adventures/Toby has transformed our desert rescue pup into an obedient - water loving - wilderness partner beyond our expectation. Wild Pup Adventures is heaven on earth for dogs. Toby has taken her business model and turned it to a haven (and heaven) for dogs and owners alike. The dogs come home happy, fulfilled and exhausted, like they are meant to. There is nothing around comparable to the experience she provides and the dogs are able to experience life in ways that unfortunately most do not. Her experience, understanding and education of canine psychology is unparalleled and I only wish she could clone herself. Accept no substitutes. She and her years of experience are absolutely unparalleled. I love everything she does because she does it for her love for dogs and their quality of life. Only a true animal lover could possibly understand and appreciate what she does. She has extreme knowledge of dog breeds and their capabilities and which dogs can handle the experience and which can’t. She is picky about which ones she takes in because she cares about their quality of life and the experience they have. She’s very educated in all things based in animal science and is definitely one of a kind.
