Janet did a one night sit for me while I was away at a wedding. Everything went smoothly when she arrived. She was kind and very comfortable with my dog who can be nervous around strangers. When I returned home, my house and dog were both in great shape. Thank you Janet!

Deane
Deane and Ralph were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make me comfortable, for instance, clearing a lot of shelf space in the pantry and refrigerator. Their home is beautifully decorated with folk art, and I enjoyed summer mornings ensconced in the great room, looking out at the large backyard through its wall of windows. The outdoor shower, indoor claw-foot tub, and well-appointed kitchen made me feel beyond blessed. The home is perfectly located close to downtown, the River Arts district, great supermarkets, and wonderful places to hike and run. Quetzal, the kitty, hid for weeks as I was told she would, but once she ventured out, she soon became my cuddle buddy—and what a love she is; I miss her already! Kanga, the dog, was away with Deane and Ralph. The main work of the sit was caring for Pepper and Sunshine, the two Amazon parrots. They have amusing, quirky personalities, and we spent some delightful mornings and evenings singing together. They also can be quite loud and demanding; I think the best fit would be a sitter who isn’t bothered by periods of alarm-like calls, sometimes first thing in the morning, or who is very experienced with parrots and comfortable carrying them around the house. I learned a lot from this sit, and I appreciate all of Deane’s support as I acclimated to “bird life.”

My partner and I recently completed a house and pet-sitting assignment for this lovely home, and overall, it was a positive experience. The owners were responsive to our questions, which helped ensure a smooth stay. A more detailed guide and additional information/pictures in the profile would have been beneficial for a better understanding of what to expect.

We lucked out with fantastic weather during our stay, although it's worth mentioning that future sitters should be prepared for rain, especially considering the Pacific Northwest climate. The dogs, while undeniably friendly and snuggly, had a bit of difficulty staying out of the bedroom at night, leading to some nighttime whining that occasionally disrupted our sleep.

Despite these minor challenges, if you're an animal lover, this is the perfect place for you. The affectionate nature of the dogs and the overall charm of the home/yard make it a rewarding experience. We genuinely enjoyed our time here and appreciate the opportunity to care for such delightful pets
