Lauren and Oliver were very gracious and prepared for our visit. Raffy and Monty were sweet and good. The chickens were a breeze to care for and we enjoyed the eggs. The house was comfortable, there was lots of space on the property to let the dogs run freely and nice woods and farm walks from the house. We also followed Laurens recommendations and took the dogs to a lovely lake. They have a lot of stamina for such small dogs. We toured a lot of small towns and markets during our stay. We totally enjoyed the sit and would highly recommend it.
The 4 furry pets crept into our hearts. At a glance the 3 chocolate Labs look alike but as you get to know them their personality shines thought. They are all kind hearted loveable and sweet. Oliver is an old soul and he had some heartache when Philip left, but we tried to comfort him the best we could. We loved the daily walk just as much as they did. Kita came for short cuddles, she gave me a couple of scares as the blends in with a black background and appears suddenly. Philips home was immaculate, we felt right at home when we arrived. The place was clean and well equipped. The views are stunning and peacefull. The town is artistic, fun to explore on foot and very laid back. We enjoyed your time and we would love to visit Philip, the furry kids and the Town again.
Pascale and Ducan are lovely people. The communication via the app was excellent. They also explained me eveything about the house and the cat when I arrived. Keira is an adorable cat and very calm. I will return with great pleasure !
We had an exceptional stay at Rita's exquisite 300yr old farm house, where Rhea and Sophie made our time truly remarkable amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Aveyron region in France. Rita proved to be an outstanding host, warmly welcoming us and our children with a wonderful dinner on our arrival night. Throughout our stay, she ensured we felt right at home, enabling us to seamlessly step into our roles caring for the property and her beloved pets, Rhea and Sophie. Rita's kindness and exceptional hospitality were evident as she encouraged us to enjoy every moment on the property, exploring the nearby historical villages and vibrant local markets, all just a short drive away. During our first and second nights, we were greeted by the charming cats Biggy and Tiny, who roamed the grounds once the dogs retired inside for the evening. However, they soon disappeared for the rest of the trip, content to explore neighbouring properties and hunt for their meals elsewhere. Sophie, the curious and intelligent younger dog, loved playing with us all outdoors, chasing balls, playing tug of war and relished our excursions to nearby towns. Rhea, the older and very affectionate one, dutifully watched over Sophie and enjoyed her time outdoors, freely exploring the expansive land surrounding the property and running over the minute we started playing outside with Sophie. Our kids both adored playing with Sophie and Rhea and it took no time at all for Rhea and Sophie to feel familiar in our presence and comfortable with us taking them for walks and getting into the car with us or letting us groom them. Rita's dedication to our comfort exceeded expectations, ensuring the house remained immaculate throughout our stay and keeping us informed of any deliveries or maintenance work on neighbouring properties. Her relaxed nature and patience were so evident when we encountered a minor issue with the wood burner, highlighting how effective communication between homeowner and sitter can swiftly resolve things. As a family with two older kids we are always so grateful of those who give us a chance and realise our children are a wonderful pair of extra hands, involved in caring responsibly for the animals and loving and adoring of all the animals we care for. We were all very sad to say goodbye to Sophie and Rhea, who we grew to love so much and look forward to returning again to this house sit and beautiful region of France. Thank you so much Ellora, Jason, Arlo & Bibi x
Had such a beautiful week looking after Mozi, Momo and Frigyes, exploring the countryside. Frigyes warmed up to me quickly and loves lots of cuddles, Momo started to warm up to me but she is extremely nervous so I never got closer than two metres from her but that was still a big improvement! Mozi is super sweet, she’s quite an anxious dog and doesn’t like to be left alone so I ended up taking her with me everywhere and she was quite nervous during the storm but she is super sweet and loved having her following me around everywhere, and we went on some super beautiful walks through the countryside. It was a super relaxing week to just unwind and Moni, Juda and Ketrin are super lovely and welcoming! :)
Sally and Raoul are wonderful hosts making us feel particularly welcome in their home with an easy transition on their departure and arrival. They were well organized with plenty of food for the dogs and cats during our 4 week stay. Their home is beautiful with modern appliances, smart TV and everything worked perfectly without a hitch. Sally left written instructions including what to do if the wifi or power goes off which were very helpful to follow and review during our stay. The animals are very easy to fall in love with. The three dogs Hinnie, Lulu and Wooster are all very well behaved and are big softies. They don’t compete for food, patiently waiting their turn and respond very well to commands. They also don’t bother the cats and in fact sometimes groom them which is so cute. Walking the dogs daily through the woodland (with entry directly from the house site) was the highlight of our day. Featuring mature oak woodlands, open grassland and crops we quickly grew confidence heading down the many pathways available. Out of the three cats we saw Mercy the most who after a week of getting used to us was happy to give us cuddles on the bed and keep us company on the couch in the evenings watching TV. The other two are definitely country cats happy to be outside and let you pet them when they come in for food as it suited them. The chickens are very easy to manage and are very cool characters themselves as they put themselves to bed in the evenings and all you need to do is shut the door. If you have not cared for chickens before don’t be afraid it is rather easy and can be rewarding with fresh eggs daily. The neighbors are also lovely all looking out for each other and the local community was also a delight to get involved with. Even the local book swap on Wednesdays at the Rudgwick Community Hall you are welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuit with time for a chat. Overall we felt very privileged to be selected for this house sit and we had a wonderful 4 weeks caring for fabulous fur babies on a spectacular lifestyle block. Thank you Sally & Raoul.
