Cosmo is a one of a kind kitty! I loved playing with him, cuddling up while he purred on my lap and taking lots of pics to send to Sam & Leandro...he's just so silly and fun and sweet and photogenic! 😊 A wonderful cat and a wonderful sit. Sam and Leandro are so kind and made me feel super welcome in their home, which was very clean and such a lovely space to spend a week. Highly recommend!
Huw's sit was a peaceful week-long retreat in the centre of the beautiful town of Holmfirth. I met Huw prior to the sit and he was incredibly kind and welcoming, like an old friend. He did everything possible to ensure I was comfortable in his lovely home. He provided a detailed welcome pack and left no questions unanswered. Huw's house is spacious, clean and so peaceful! The views are stunning and there are walks right on the doorstep. It has the perfect balance of being close to nature while being only a short walk from the centre of Holmfirth which has so much to explore. I felt instantly at home. Now, to the main event! Chopper is the sweetest natured boy. He was the perfect companion, whether lounging on the sofa or exploring the surroundings, he is an absolute joy. He loves his dad dearly and was momentarily a little sad when he left, but was soon cuddling up to me and full of beans. He is gentle and well-mannered (that goes out the window somewhat when he encounters squirrels and big dogs though!) He isn't food oriented but still has a healthy appetite. All in all, this was a wonderful, restful housesit in a gorgeous location with an amazing host and the loveliest dog. I would be honoured to sit for Huw and Chopper again, and would highly recommend this sit to sitters looking for a break from the hustle and bustle and to explore a beautiful town with Chopper in tow!
Charlotta and Jaan are such wonderful people you feel like you’ve been friends for years after your first conversation. Their Chamonix apartment is warm and cozy, an easy and peaceful 15 minute walk from the noisy Main Street in Chamonix. There is a great restaurant and bar directly across the street at the Vert Hotel. Ceylon and Curry are the sweetest, most social cats I’ve ever spent time with. Ceylon loves his food, and will mooch off of his sister if he can get away with it 😂. Curry will study you a bit more intently before she decides you are worthy of her trust and friendship, but by day two she was curled up on the sofa with me. Charlotta and Jaan were in touch throughout the stay and left thorough instructions so I felt very prepared and comfortable. The cats are very tolerant of their care. Curry takes her medication every other day without a fuss and Ceylon adores being brushed. These two cats and their parents are just a joy and I feel so fortunate to have been chosen for this sit. Highly recommend.
JoAnne and Lee have a lovely home, and I enjoyed staying there for 2+ months. Their cat, Denim, is shy at first, but a very friendly once she gets to know you. I was warmly greeted into their home, and everything was well communicated. They left a very thorough welcome guide, and were quick to communicate if I had any questions. I also loved their kitchen and library collection. I had a very nice stay here, and would definitely recommend!
I loved every minute of this wonderful sit! Julia and Steve’s home is lovely, warm and comfortable and the grounds are gorgeous. There are endless walks right outside the gate through the forests and lanes. Brian and Tattie are extremely well behaved dogs, even off lead ( except when Tattie sees a cat ~) Having the cows and sheep down the lane to check on and Julia’s mum around to visit were added bonuses. The New Forest is a magical place and as a horse and animal lover, I’m grateful that I got to stay long enough that the sight of horses, donkeys and cows ambling down the lanes almost became commonplace. Many many thanks, Julia and Steve, for trusting an American to come all the way for the best housesit ever!
Jann and Malcolm were lovely to deal with from start to finish. Communication was straight forward and they were reachable anytime we had a query. They were extremely welcoming and cooked us food for the handover evening. We really enjoyed looking after Layla and Lily. We didn’t see too much of Lily - very much a typical cat keeping herself to herself but she was affectionate and friendly once she got used to us. Layla is THE cutest, she has been well trained and has the loveliest demeanour - she is literally a real life teddy bear! There are plenty of places to walk her and her feeding routine is very straight forward. The house is a lovely place, it is spacious and well equipped with plenty of gadgets and books. The guest bedroom is welcoming and cosy, with an adjoining en-suite…the bed was like sleeping on a cloud!! There is plenty of space for those who work remotely. The high street is less than a 15 minute walk away. We thoroughly recommend this sit!
