Pat and Dan are thoughtful hosts who live in a newly-built, well-insulated home halfway between Saltford and Keynsham. The house is well-equipped and stylishly furnished. It is very easy to visit both Bath and Bristol from Saltford, about 20 minutes by bus to either city. Pat has written an informative and detailed House Guide which she thoughtfully printed out and she left a starter kit of essentials (bread, butter, milk, biscuits) which was very welcome.

Eric is a real character. Now that the weather is warmer, he likes to spend a lot of time outside. He tolerates being patted within limits but be careful to watch for signs that he has had enough because he might scratch you if you overdo the patting. He is not a lap cat, nor did he sit beside me on the sofa but he did sleep on my bed which was great. He has a healthy appetite and he loves his snacks.

I highly recommend this sit and would not hesitate to look after Eric again in the future. In fact, I will be doing a repeat assignment here in September!

Alanna
I spent a very lovely holiday at Alanna and Andy’s home. The house was beautiful and in a safe gated neighborhood. They were welcoming when I arrived and answered any questions I had. The dogs were sweet, requiring 2 good walks a day with food twice a day as well. They hung out around the house napping and going in the backyard in-between walks. I was able to get out and visit some fun places: downtown Santa Fe, a few parks (Pecos National Historic Park, Coronado Historical, Galisteo Basin Preserve), restaurants and other sites. Would recommend to future trusted housesitters. Oh! And the bed was incredibly comfortable. Loved Alanna and Andy, loved my stay.

Anne
We had a wonderful time in Cheltenham! Although it was a last minute sit and the family was busy with the last travel arrangements, Anne was laid back and showed us everything. The communication over three weeks was very good, it was always easy to get in contact with Anne and when we had to go to the vet, she arranged everything for us by phone.
The house is spacious and has all the comforts to spend a good time, the guestroom is nice and has its own bathroom. Everything was very clean and tidy, we immediately felt well. The entire outdoor area is wonderful to use in the sun. If it rains, there is a very large conservatory. The two Labradors are real sweethearts, they are extremely well behaved and we had a lot of fun with them. No problem to travel with them, whether city or country. And both love company. We miss them!
We can fully recommend this sit.

Laurie’s dogs were playful and fun to be around! the house is in a great neighborhood with good location for groceries — walkable, or just a couple minutes by bike.

Dianna
I've tried multiple times to write this review but nothing says it quite right when trying to jot it down here. Take every good thing and amplify it.

I loved my stay with Dianna's crew. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I was given the news a coyote got her last goose. Heartbreaking. Dianna shared the news and was clearly upset, but with such a strong appreciation and understanding of nature, I know she'll heal through that.

Even without a goose, there was still plenty of animal love to go around. Gandy and Misty could have taken care of themselves if they had opposable thumbs. Lol They know and enjoy their routine and overall, they're very low maintenance. By the last two days, Gandy would walk himself. Ha. I had the leash and so did he. What a goof. He slept on the floor in the room with me. That was nice. Occasionally he gets excited and trips over his own feet..... particularly true when an eagle was eating a dried out cinnamon roll I threw in the yard. Both dogs were a bit excited at that point, but who wouldn't be? That eagle was RIGHT THERE in the grass outside the living room window. AMAZING. Misty certainly is timid but we shared some nice moments, eye to eye. I think animals can see our pain as much as we can see theirs when life gets ahold of us. She loves to have her nose, face and whole head stroked with a calm voice. Moments may get cut short cuz Gandy will likely come check out why she's getting pet and not him, but no aggression. Just a big goof making sure he's not missing out on something. Lol

Posie and Callie...What can I say? I had goats when I was a kid, but as much as they loved me and the family, it couldn't hold a candle to how people-bonded these two goats are. Anywhere I went in the yard, they were usually with me. This included if I was sitting in my truck because if you leave a door open, they think it's road trip time LOL The routine to care for them is simple and something to look forward to in the morning. They're "chatty" and bright eyed cheerful.

Dianna's house is a home. There's such a difference between a house and home. Everywhere you look you see expressions of the life you're crossing paths with and you'd be hard pressed to find a negative. Everything is interesting. Her hobbies, talents, interests, and simply her way of living make this pet sit more of a unique zen mental health retreat than an obligation while she's away. She is thorough in expectations and gives excellent directions. Most of all, she's kind.

I cannot leave out the simple beauty of it all. Water. Oh man. The views. All day, everyday, beautiful. Saturday was a busy day for porpoises. So so many and for hours!!!! And so close. The beach of "smooth rocks" was a highlight. I sat there regularly and watched the tail end of the tide go in or out, depending on time of day. I skipped rocks, hiked, watched sunrises and sunsets and moonrises like I haven't seen before (all over the property), taking in any new view I could.

Great animals, wonderful human, peaceful property. ❤️

I would definitely do this sit again. Thanks, Dianna!!
