This was a lovely housesit in beautiful Anacortes. The dog has a lovely nature and was easy to manage. The house was walking distance to local shops, the marina and the old town of Anacortes. We'd love to return to this sit.

This is as good as housesits get!

Marley is a dream to look after. She has been exceptionally well trained with house rules setting clear boundaries. She walks really well on the lead and off the lead has excellent recall. She is eager to please but not demanding, playful and a great companion for long walks in the stunning surrounding countryside.

St Boswells is a great location offering a variety of riverside walks, access to several long distance walking routes and some great hills affording panoramic views of the surrounding ajrea. There are a couple of convenience stores and a great deli in the village as well as three excellent eateries, two of which are dog friendly. There are several small towns nearby with historic sights and interesting small shops all easily accessible by car or bus as well as lots of historic houses in the area (most open seasonally). There was so much to do locally we didn’t feel the need to venture far afield.

We really enjoyed the house which was very spacious, comfortable and warm. It was great fun experimenting with cooking on the Aga and before long we had mastered casseroles and even a cake. Chris was keen to reassure us that we could also use the electric cooker if we weren’t comfortable using the Aga but armed with the Aga cookbook he had thoughtfully left out it was all very easy. We also really appreciated being able to walk Marley on off-road paths straight from the door. Being a retriever she loves to roll in things but with a hot and cold tap at the back door she scrubs up quickly.

Chris and his family were a delight to meet and couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. Communications in the run up to the housesit were really good and the notes which they had prepared for us were excellent. We had set up a group WhatsApp chat to share photos and stories about Marley and that worked well. We felt Chris and his wife Amanda were there for us in a supportive way if we needed them without it feeling intrusive or overwhelming.

All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Lovely place, great location, and wonderful company. Magnus is a great companion to explore the city and the plentiful gardens and forests in the area.

My sit was amazing, I could not ask for a better one.
Tia was very clear on communication, before and during the sit and to arrange the key collection. The house is very comfortable right in the city centre.
The best part of the sit was Bugsy of course :)
He needed to warm up the first day but after that he sat next to me while reading and also following me around the house. He is chilled and playful. He was very affectionate and was sad to leave. I will be happy to sit again anytime. Thanks so much :)

I had a great stay at Sarah's lovely home in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Poppy was a joy to look after. She loved being woken up each morning with belly rubs and cuddles, and seemed very content plodding along on her walks each day. She is VERY well behaved and was happy lay beside me when I was working online, and enjoyed her daily hose down and blow dry after walks! We even had full body cuddles on the floor! Florence spends her days out and about and her evenings upstairs. She gradually warmed to me as the days went on, and by day 3 was happy to lie on the bed with me for cuddles for a while. She's beautiful and definitely worth the time gaining her trust!
Sarah's home was cosy and has everything you need, including a very comfy bed! The location is wonderful, and great for walking. You can pretty much walk in any direction and have picturesque woodland, Marshes, farmland and the River to enjoy.
I would definitely recommend this sit.
Thanks Sarah for a great stay :)
