We received a very warm welcome from Mary and Marmalade at their lovely house near Ashbourne. Mary had previously sent a welcome pack and made sure to tell us anything else we needed to know before she left on her long weekend away, so we were very well prepared for the sit. Marmalade was very easy to care for and a delight to spend time with - he loved a lap to sit on in the evening and was very sociable around the house during the day. We stayed in Mary’s very comfortable guest bedroom, which had a lovely en-suite bathroom and spent time in the sunny sitting room overlooking the flower filled garden. We were able to help ourselves to raspberries and green beans straight from the garden and sit in the sun in the garden room. Ashbourne is a great town, with supermarkets, pubs, cafes and restaurants aplenty, with lots to do and see close by. We would recommend anyone to sit for Mary, she is very kind and helpful and both she and Marmalade will make you very welcome. Thankyou Mary for a very enjoyable sit.
I had an amazing time during this sit! The home was exactly as pictured and in an extremely convenient location. Bocko and Kiki were so cute, sweet and easy to care for. Sofija was very welcoming and kind, with great communication. Overall I would 100% recommend this sit to others, and would happily come back anytime!
Upon arrival, I felt a very warm and friendly welcome from Jamie and her husband Brian. I was lucky to meet them both in person in order to take an extensive tour of their house and to make their acquaintance. From the beginning, I felt very welcomed in their home as they treated me like a friend and were very hospitable to me. During my sojourn, Jamie was excellent in her communication and very easy to talk to. She responded immediately and graciously to any of my messages and questions that were not addressed in the manual or when we met in person, which is important for me! She texted me maps on how to get around town walking, which I found very helpful and gracious. I also texted her updates of the house and how Scout was doing and she responded with much enthusiastic appreciation. Scout is a very loveable and well behaved cat that is pretty quiet, but loves the attention and likes cuddles and face massages. She’s an outdoor cat, she likes to go in and out throughout the day and waits patiently by the door for you to open, otherwise she loves staring from inside at the hummingbirds that the property attracts. Overall, the house was impeccably clean. The bedroom was warm, cozy and inviting. The house was decorated most charmingly with Film memorabilia and old world charm mixed with interesting contemporary Art and their mutual book collections. As a foodie, I just loved the quaint vintage stove! The house felt more like a ZEN retreat for ARTISTS complete with beautiful fountain, giant swimming pool, FLORA and herbs surrounding the environs, most attractive for epicureans and BON VIVANTS !! A great way to start your day is to have your coffee and head back to the backyard by the pool, smell the rosemary, hear the birds chirp and voila your enveloped in an aura of serenity. For me, house sitting for Jamie and Scout was a relaxing and heartwarming experience. I would welcome another chance to house sit for this generous and charming couple and take care of my sweetheart, little Scout. MUCHAS GRACIAS JAMIE !!
Our house sitting experience with Natto and Mochi was nothing short of delightful. These two adorable cats quickly stole our hearts. Though they were initially a bit shy, they soon warmed up, and we cherished every moment with them. We learned that Natto has a soft spot for men, and this was certainly true. He adored our cozy Netflix nights, happily settling next to James for his favorite belly rubs. Mochi, on the other hand, enjoyed her "me-time" in the evenings but sought cuddles during the day. She was playful and loved her treats, and our "spa days" were a big hit with her. Their sweet purrs and relaxed demeanor made it easy to fall in love with them and to care for them. They’ll capture your heart in no time, and you’ll find it hard to say goodbye! Oon and Cheng are fantastic hosts. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel incredibly welcome. On our first day, they took us into town, pointed out key places, shared great recommendations, and treated us to dinner. They even drove us to a supermarket for groceries and prepared delicious coffee the next morning before they left. As coffee lovers, we were pleasantly surprised by this thoughtful gesture. Communication with Oon and Cheng was excellent, even with the time difference. They clearly love Natto and Mochi, and we enjoyed sharing updates and photos with them. Their home is spotless, comfortable, and boasts a large pool. Located just outside Hua Hin city, it offers a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to the city center, thanks to a free shuttle service. We highly recommend house sitting for Oon and Cheng. If you get the opportunity, don’t hesitate – you’ll have an amazing experience!
Had a wonderful sit! Stephen was a great host who helped with clear instructions and support where needed throughout. My grandad has recently passed and he was really supportive with my mum visiting so we could be together for a few days. Seren his daughter, stayed with us a few days, she was lovely, friendly and very welcoming. Ralph, Scally and Ollie (the dogs) are extremely loving and were a delight to sit for. They love fuss and cuddles. Mocha and Harley (the cats) are very easy going and are easy to care for too. Beautiful home and location and all the utensils needed to enjoy a home from home. It was a wonderful touch to have some cupboard, kitchen and fridge space to use for our food. Would highly recommend this sit and would love to sit again for Stephen. Thank you
I really enjoyed house sitting for Gemma; a lovely, very spacious apartment overlooking a park in the old part of town. Very convenient for walks along the canal or out into the surrounding countryside. Hindsight was also a delight to look after, despite being not quite himself, due to recovering from a broken leg. He was no problem giving medication, as had such a lovely temperament. A highly recommended place to housesit.
