Guy & Gigi
Eileen was superb. She has tremendous experience with everything related to house and pet care. She was able to change the end date during the stay which was so much appreciated. We really hope to work with her again on a future stay.

Becky
Becky was warm, welcoming and very relaxed throughout our stay. She was quick with communication and always responded.

This is a small holding, with a few animals to look after. Becky explained everything very clearly and gave us careful notes on who to feed and when before she left.

If you want to learn about Devon farm life, this could be perfect for you.  Suggestions:  (1)  Bring wellies, this is not a place for high-heels or your new suede loafers;
(2) be prepared to care for larger animals, sheep and horses can be pushy around feeding time and you need to remember who is boss, and who gets fed, in which order; (3) accept that plans can go awry, for example, one of the gate locks is a bit loose and Willow (the horse)
can open it by leaning hard on it and jiggling it. We came back from Barnsaple a few hours later and discovered that two different fields of sheep had mingled.

Becky's place onsite is a static caravan, which is exactly what she needs for managing the property. The beds are cozy, and while the cats and dogs like to come in, they can be left outside, as they have proper lodgings in the barn. The two sheep, Fudge and Munchie, are a
bit odd, they follow you around like the dogs, not realizing that they are in fact sheep. I can't tell if Becky has the best shower in the world, or if it just feels like that after being on the farm. The water is hot, the pressure is great, and you feel ready for bed afterwards.

We thoroughly enjoyed this sit and learned a lot. Our daughter is now interested in farming and wants a small-holding of her own where she can raise animals. Now all we need is 10 acres in deepest Devon...
