Communication with Mary and Joel was easy from the start. Their reasons for wanting to house/pet sit were clear and appealing. As a retired professional couple they do this out of desire to travel well and get some puppy love since their last fur baby passed. We had a facetime call with them and knew they were the perfect fit for us for many reasons - one of which was they had several repeat sits. When they got to our house the first thing Joel did was sit on the floor to meet the pups!! This was very endearing! They arrived the night before we left to meet the dogs and get the lay of the land. Over dinner we learned that we had crossed paths professionally with each of them over the years. They asked great questions about the dogs care and we loved hearing about their upcoming travel plans. Mary wanted to know how we preferred they communicated with us while we were away so a clear expectation was set before we left. We got updates on the dogs walks and wellbeing each day each with Mary telling us how sweet the dogs were every time. We came home to a clean home, sheets and towels washed, trash taken out, etc. Mary left a note letting us know the last time they were fed and walked before they left. She also sent a photo of Parker lying in her packed suitcase...hmmmm..did she want to go home with Mary and Joel?? Obviously a sign she was a happy doggie! We recommend Mary & Joel to everyone!!

Visiting with Kerry before the sit was like chatting with a friend. Chris welcomed me and showed me the ropes. They have a lovely, comfortable home and you’ll be cozy with Baxter, Juneau, Shady and Bella tucking you into bed. Walking Baxter and Juneau together was a breeze, they politely wait for the other to finish reading the “pee-mail” around the neighborhood, plus there are lovely nature trails very close by for Juneau to use up the energy Baxter doesn’t have. Shady is the consummate lap-lover and Bella is such a sweet character, eye contact will make her start purring! Norway/Paris are charming communities—very walkable, delicious food (don’t miss the gelato!) and Maine-made items at several shops—big props to Handmade Maine for the interesting town history lesson about the snowshoe production & trail recommendations! Kerry also printed out all the information I’d need for their pets, in addition to many recommendations of all varieties (even generously leaving a gift as encouragement to enjoy the local fare)—there was no way to be bored! Four pets can seem like a lot, but this quad were easy companions!

Clare
We have just completed a lovely pet/house sit for Clare, Patrick and family looking after 2 dogs Beautiful Bonnie and Sizzle and the two cats Pablo & Noffie. Clare and Patrick have a beautiful house with stunning grounds.. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The ponies Bubbles and Bubble & Squeak we’re in their fields looking very happy and the Livery lady looked after their needs in Clare and Patrick’s absence. We loved waking up to see them each morning and spent many an afternoon /evening just watching them over the garden wall. We took the dogs out for some lovely walks and enjoyed walking around the Gallops which is just stunning. Although we didn’t get to meet Clare and Patrick we had a lovely face time call beforehand and lots of communication during their holiday, We would love to sit again if we were asked. A thoroughly enjoyable pet sit which we would highly recommend. Alison & Roger

Richard and Kelly
BeBe was a delightful and interesting companion during our sit together. I still miss her! She is super independent, yet very interactive and loving when she gets to know you. The cottage is sweet and homey; the setting is peaceful and green while being only 20 minutes to downtown Charlotte. I loved the back deck, and wandering in the yard with BeBe- their lovely flowering plants and trees change with the season, and there is a wonderful array of birds and butterflies as well. Kelly was very clear with instructions, and available to answer questions. They were also very helpful when I had car trouble, and with guiding me through my first close up experience with a hurricane! I definitely recommend sitting for BeBe, Kelly and Richard :)

First let me say how much I love Rico and Ernie. They are two of my favorite cats of all of my sits! You will be entertained and cuddled and they get so excited when it's eating time (even if the food is for you and not them!). I came without a car and the transit is so easy for her neighborhood. I took the streetcar a few blocks away and the 29 bus is only a block away, both going to city and the BART. And then's there the beach, the streetcar goes all the way there and there are some great little restaurants dotting the area. There are stairs to get up to her unit just an FYI. I stored my larger suitcase in the garage so I wouldn't have to carry it up! I would return anytime to one of my favorite cities.

Anne
Anne was a wonderful host, she’s kind and friendly and she left excellent instructions on taking care of Luna and the house. She thoughtfully picked me up at the Metro station, and even took me to a Shakespeare in the Park performance the night I arrived.

Luna is such a sweet cat. She’s very affectionate, loves to cuddle and loves being brushed. When she goes outside she doesn’t go far, and you can easily encourage her to come inside with a few treats.

Anne’s house is in a green, quiet neighborhood with a nice walking trail just steps away. In her backyard I saw birds and rabbits, and one day I saw a deer on her front lawn. I enjoyed the twenty minute walk to town, where there is a Whole Foods Market, a movie theater, and a variety of shops and restaurants, as well as a Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings.

The Metro is a short walk further, making a trip to Washington DC’s Museums and sights very easy. I really enjoyed my stay with Luna.

I was so fortunate to be able to Housesit and look after little Ninja and cheeky Marlino while Lucia and Andrea were away. It’s a beautiful home and the cats were adorable. Go slowly with Ninja as she is not as brave as Merlino. My hosts were just fabulous. Picking me up from the airport and taking me out for pizza before we went to their home. Really recommend this couple as perfect hosts who spoilt me with amazing food and wine! I can’t wait to go back😁
