Sometimes there is an immediate connection between homeowners and housesitters which makes everything seem to fall together so easily ... this was the case with Carla and her family. It seemed unfathomable that just days before our sit was to begin, I would incur serious injuries (ruptured hamstring, massive bruises, sprained wrist) requiring nearly complete bedrest for recovery. However, never having had a traumatic injury before, I was determined not to leave Carla without care for her kitty and had convinced myself I could muster the strength to make the 8 hour drive and meet my housesitting obligations. Fortunately for me, when Carla saw the photos of my extensive bruises, she insisted on trying to find a replacement and happily was able to do so almost immediately via a friend who lived in the area. I felt immediate relief at her understanding and generous nature allowing me to focus 100% on healing without feeling an ounce of guilt about any inconvenience my situation may have caused. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to have a "do-over" in the not too distant future as I would love to meet Carla and her family in person!
Alison and Mark were the most kind, welcoming hosts. Their home was neat and tidy, conveniently located between Newcastle and the Hunter Valley with quick access the the highway to Sydney. Belle, Monty and Millie were gorgeous, relaxed pets and were a pleasure to be with. We enjoyed our stay at Alison and Mark’s home!
Sheldon and Noki were a breeze to care for. Sheldon is a sweet cuddly boy and Noki is energetic and feisty, but once he warms up to you he's a doll. They both loved snuggling on the couch watching movies with me since it was so cold outside. Kris and Darwin have a lovely home in a great location. Communication was a excellent. Thanks for a great visit!
