Heather was an exceptional host, introducing us to neighbors, friends and fellow dog walkers so that we had an immediate community of welcoming Scots. The house was charming, comfortable and functional. Nellie is a perfect love. She loved to cuddle at home or was up for any adventure. She traveled with us by train and bus to many places and was always well behaved in every setting. If you get a chance to sit for Heather and Nellie, jump on it! It will be a great experience.
What could be a more peaceful and relaxing way to spend the holidays than in this beautiful, well appointed home with two adorable pups and mountain views? This impeccably clean, spacious and comfortable home will have you lacking nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hardly left the house, keeping Rocky and Birdie company. All decked out for the holidays, this home was a beautiful place to be.
Looking after Rubi was a wonderful experience. He’s the absolute sweetest cat you can imagine. Well behaved, quiet, very affectionate, patient, playful, just a lovely little guy I feel I was super lucky to get to meet. We bonded quite a bit during the sit, and he grew more and more cuddly each day, and would often come up to me for pets and snuggles. I was a little worried because he has to receive medication twice a day, and it’s hard to predict how an animal will react with a stranger administering it, but he was very cooperative and easy as soon as I figured out how to keep him relaxed and gained his trust. Over all, an awesome and easygoing experience. Nora was a lovely host, who took the time to properly show us how everything in her apartment worked, and gave very clear instructions and advice to help keep Rubi most comfortable. She was always very easy to reach and answered any questions promptly. The apartment is very cozy with a lovely big terrace, and is very close to the metro. The neighbourhood felt safe and I had no worries walking around late at night. Overall I can recommend this sit and would be happy to return any time.
Had a wonderful week housesitting for Lorraine and Judd. Their home is so comfortable with lots of places to relax and eat alfresco in the warm sunny evenings. Cuba and Miss Tuchel are very lovely pets! Cuba is a very well behaved lab, very friendly and affectionate and especially loved swimming in the sea and running on the beach. At home, she loved nothing more than either cuddling us or playing with her ball in the field. Miss Tuchel is a very sweet little cat who loves her tummy stroked for ages. This had to be one of the best housesits I've been lucky to do, and I hope to return in the future. Thank you to Lorraine for making Mum and I feel so welcome.
My sit with: Jura and Harris (Labs), Ginger (Terrier) near Auchterarder, Scotland: It was so very nice to be in rural Scotland yet accessible to nearby towns and villages by a 15-20 minute walk. Which in itself was a delight. The mornings were christened with the happiest dogs I've known, so full of energy to get going on a full days worth of future possibilities: walking, running, jumping, rolling, swimming, licking, rough and tumble play with each other but one could also join in. So loving but always hoping for a wayward treat to come their way. With occasional renewed spirit, Ginger, the old terrier might follow along or just relax. Being older no one is asking her to do more. The chickens were largely autonomous and I actually enjoyed the distant cry of the cockerel. All very easy to care for. Pamela were very friendly and ensured that I enjoyed my stay, looking after her home and pets. Pamela kindly left a delightful care package and also essentials to get going. Thank you for the treats of the region! Pamela was easily available for any assistance via Whatsapp and provided a detailed welcome guide, which was excellent. The house was fully equipped, very comfortable, bright and warm; and well located close to a nice village, yet by bus, Perth was within easy reach, with its banks & bigger shops. I miss the happy jumping dogs and the long bright summer days of Perthshire. A farm sit to be recommended for sure.
We recently had the pleasure of experiencing the most delightful and relaxing pet sit at Melanie and Buck's farm home just northwest of Houston. It was an absolute haven for both pets and humans alike. From the moment we arrived at their gated and picturesque property, we were enveloped in a sense of tranquility that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. Melanie and Buck, the gracious hosts, welcomed us with open arms and genuine warmth. Their farm home, nestled in the heart of nature's embrace, provided the perfect backdrop for a serene retreat. The ambiance was idyllic, with sprawling greenery and the soothing sounds of nature in the background. What truly made this pet sit extraordinary were the lovable companions Tucker, Rudy, and Charlie. These furry friends were so fun and their personalities added an extra layer of joy to our stay. Tucker, with his boundless energy and playful antics, was a bundle of joy. Rudy, the gentle boss, exuded a calm demeanor that instantly put everyone at ease. Charlie, the quiet cat with an adorable twinkle in his eye, was our alarm each morning as he woke us with a gentle arrival at the bedside. The accommodations were impeccable, offering a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. The attention to detail in creating a pet-friendly environment was evident, making it clear that Melanie and Buck had carefully considered the well-being of both their guests and their beloved animal companions. If you're seeking a haven where relaxation meets the joy of animal companionship, look no further – Melanie and Buck's farm is an oasis of serenity, and I can't wait for our next visit.
