Exceptional Normandy Stay We had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful stay on the east coast of Normandy at St Vaast la Hougue on a beautiful small farm. Our hosts, Lorraine and Stephen, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect....lots of local markets, interesting sites, walks, the beaches....ideal. Both Hector and Gaston were great, entertaining pets and the sheep and lambs a real treat to keep an eye on. This was a stay we will remember fondly for the experience and the friendships formed. A memorable stay.

A beautiful home in a lovely location with two very special dogs makes this a delightful and highly recommended sit. Sarah and Neil are the most generous, friendly and hospitable people you could wish to meet and we think it is fair to say that they spoilt us during our visit and time together. Castle Cary is a busy little market town which is very well served by shops and pubs and has numerous interesting and scenic country walks available right on your doorstep. We chatted to lovely neighbours, learnt about some local history and soaked up the beautiful scenery. Izzy and Feather are such gentle and affectionate girls, very sweet and always ready for a cuddle or long walk. Being whippets they will walk for miles on lead or run with great speed and agility off lead, they are a joy to be with and are full of character. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castle Cary, we made some new friends and had a relaxing time with lots of doggie cuddles. We very much look forward to being able to return.
Where do I even begin… we had the most magical three weeks in Alcudia, Mallorca at Patricia’s place. Patricia and I spent two days together initially so I could learn the routine and she kindly showed me around and recommended me spots to eat, shop and visit. By the time she left we were like old friends! Patricia is a wonderful, kind person you would be lucky to meet in any walk of life. The animals all have fascinating personalities - from Ally and Sky, sisters but contrasting in many ways, their affection and loyalty I will treasure forever. The cats are a barrel of laughs themselves, from the timid yet loving Smokey, to Simba, the King of the house, to the wonderful new addition Heathcliff, a distinguished older gentleman who was generous with his affections and playful nature. This ensemble of animals were great company and kept me endlessly entertained. With regards to Alcudia itself, it is a beautiful walled town, charming and peaceful at this time of year. The nearby towns and further afield places are easy to reach by car (which Patricia was kind enough to lend to us) and everything on the Island is at most an hour away. From Soller to Valldemossa and the Drach Caves of Monte Cristo, there was no shortage of things to see and places to go. Mallorca is also a hiker’s paradise with some incredible forests and mountains. I could write forever about how enriching an experience we had at Patricia’s. We truly have a friend for life and can’t wait to visit again soon. Thank you again for everything! Roisin & Kieran xxx
