We were warmly welcomed into a lovely house in a beautiful location. We were also lucky enough to have met the owners and pets before the sit so had been very well briefed. There were lots of good walks from the house, of varying distances along the coastal path which we enjoyed exploring with Muddy. The house is very convenient for the local town, within easy walking distance; with all the conveniences you would need for your stay, including 2 small supermarkets. Local beaches welcome dogs for part of the year so we had great fun ball throwing for Muddy; and then lots of cuddles in the evening ! Definitely a sit not to be missed, and with three gorgeous chickens to look after too you may also get fresh eggs. A great sit and one worth looking out for dates.
We had the pleasure of Anne-Marie’s company for two days at the beginning and two days at the end of the sit. The first two were to enable us to get used to the menagerie and their specific needs. The last two were so that we had time to go around the island and do a little exploring plus meet an old friend. Anne-Marie is a warm, friendly, caring, wonderful person. She’s so easy to get along with. We had such a great time getting to know one another over good food and excellent chats until the small hours. Anne-Marie’s house is a bright spacious open plan affair, with tall ceilings and a cool breeze blowing throughout. It’s more of a villa than your traditional house. The kitchen is well equipped, the living area very comfortable and your living quarters containing its own bathroom and comfortable bed. The location is quiet, rural, with plenty of places to take the dogs and cat (Millie) for a walk. There’s a supermarket nearby and you’re only half an hour Limassol, a beautiful city steeped in history. Eating out is surprisingly cheap! As for the pets, they are all very much individuals, yet all live together in harmony. Cats: There’s Harry, the cuddly Cheshire cat. Archie, the wandering Cheshire food hover. Gomez, loves his fuss and is always on the lookout for a bit of extra food. Then there’s Freddy, the slightly nervous patient observer. Larry the ‘old office worker’, who looks like he’s having a crisis (he’s not, he just looks like he is), who’ll only drink water out of the fridge. Then we have Millie, the smallest, cutest cat, who loves to come on dog walks. Coco, who’s not so keen on cats, but loves dogs. Tia, who’s so pretty and fluffy but won’t come in the house. Ozzie, with his wonky eye and fluffiness. And finally Fang, with his sticky out tooth who likes to suck the end of your finger for comfort. All of the cats are affectionate. Dogs: There’s Holly, the 17-year-old Spaniel who appears to be mostly motionless, that is until there’s food about! Bella, a Cyprus Poodle, so small in stature, yet clearly the boss. Sally, a true hound, so cool and laid back who does things in her own good time, never to be rushed. Ellie, the most affectionate and sensitive princess, mummy dog to the little ones. Toffee the sock wearing wheelchair racer, don’t be fooled, she can move around as fast as the others. And, last but certainly not least we have Benson (aka Dave). Benson is the youngest of the group, he’s a beautiful cuddly playful and mostly well-behaved pup. All of the dogs are affectionate. This is an incredible sit to have. There is a fair amount of things to do however, but the pets have a good routine which enabled us to get most things completed early in the day giving us plenty of time to enjoy the very affectionate animals in the warm Cypriot sunshine. Thank you, Anne-Marie for choosing us. We have come away with some very special memories. You are a truly wonderful person; we miss you and your pets already. We sincerely hope to sit for you again. Please keep in touch, we’d love to keep up to date with the family and their antics. PS. Thank you for the archery lesson :-)
Laurie and Patrick's home was comfortable, they were very welcoming, Sherman was very good and easy to look after. He loved his walks in the forest and loved snuggling on our laps. The surrounding forest area was very peaceful and relaxing.
Kristin amd Paul were very open communication and that is always a plus! Oliver was the sweetest old man amd just followed me everywhere, when he wasn't snoring The area is beautiful and pleasant to walk. I enjoyed my time with Oliver!
