Louise
How lucky to have been able to take care of Kira during these two weeks. He's a fantastic dog. Kira has a strong character. She expresses what she wants and does not want. This is the characteristic of French bulldogs, and that's why I love them.
Louise and Kent's apartment is pleasant to live in, close to all amenities in a lively but also quiet area.
Thanks to you two... to you three.

Julie & Eric
This was a wonderful housesit!

Julie and Eric were very welcoming and communications were very good in the run up to the housesit. The handover and the house manual and visitor information was excellent. Julie and Eric stayed in contact throughout our stay in a supportive and positive way and it was also reassuring to know that Julie's mum lived nearby if there were any issues.

Ivy, Mini, June, Fynny and Bear are lovely pets and we so enjoyed our time with them. Ivy is just the perfect dog. She has a lovely nature, is obedient and keen to please. She was happy to walk as much or as little as each day presented and it was a real bonus that she loved going on public transport so we were also able to explore further afield. She has good recall but we only let her off the lead when we could be confident there were no other dogs around as Julie and Eric had mentioned she's not always keen on other dogs. With this knowledge we were also always mindful to ensure she had her own space on the pavement if there were other dogs around.

Mini, the tiniest imaginable black cat but with the voice of a lion, absolutely captured our hearts. She has a hard time with the other cats in the house so her zone is the main part of the house with the other cats occupying a separate part of the house. Mini was initially wary of us but once she decided we were okay she was our constant companion. The ultimate compliment was when she decided to sleep on us!

The other cats, Bear, Fynny and June, live downstairs. The layout of the house makes it very easy to maintain segregation. The set up for them is excellent and caring for them was easy
It was particularly rewarding when Fynny and June who are very shy started interacting with us. Bear is the funniest cat we have ever looked after. He is incredibly affectionate and immediately wanted to be our best friend engaging in very playful behaviour. It was better entertainment than the TV to sit downstairs with them and watch them all play.

The house is very comfortable and clean. Its location meant we were easily able to access nearby woods to walk Ivy (check out the Komoot App which shows the extensive path network). There is a regular bus service into town. The bus stop is very close by up a flight of steps. We were impressed with the bus and train services all covered by the German Railway 49 euro travel pass (check it out well in advance as it's a little bit complicated to arrange). Aalen is a nice town with everything you need locally but there are also lots of lovely places to explore which can be reached by train. Germany has a more relaxed attitude to dogs in restaurants/cafes than Scotland which also enabled us to explore more.

We were sorry to leave and are delighted to have had the opportunity to do this housesit.

Luke
This sit was really cool! Luke is a great communicator and his place has many amenities that you can enjoy. Rocky is super well-behaved and chill. He likes to play with his toys and he will make sure to show you all of them 😉. And the led lights... Another big fun plus!

Bloss
First of all Bloss and Dave are extremely communicative and kind people. We met them a couple weeks before our sit and from the beginning were friendly and welcoming. They were always reachable and gave clear instructions on how to care for their sweet dogs. It was a pleasure to meet them and would take the opportunity to watch the dogs again in a heartbeat

Paxi and Tackle are an adorable dynamic duo! They require a couple walks per day, they eat their food easily and happily and let you know if they need to go out or want a little snuggle. Overall they are very easy, calm and sweet dogs to care for.

Tackle is the kindest dog we’ve ever watched. He is such a “gentle giant” and happy for some ear scratches and cuddles. He enjoys his two walks per day, but since his legs have arthritis any more exercise would be too much. Although you would never ever guess that he has any pain or discomfort because he is truly happy go lucky!

Paxi is a very cute and sweet dog. She loves to play “fetch” with rocks which was very entertaining and she’s surprisingly quick with such tiny legs. She’s also a very relaxed dog and sleeps most of the day snuggled with Tackle. She does has sensitive skin, so doesn’t like to be pet with just finger tips but instead with a firm hand. Once we figured out how she likes to be pet she was happy to have a little cuddle.

The house is undeniably beautiful in a quiet new gated neighborhood surrounded by golf course, pine trees and the ocean just minutes away. The pictures Bloss and Dave shared on Trusted Housesitters are very accurate. We had a comfortable modern room and the house was a perfect place to relax for a couple days. We felt right at home. There are maintenance people coming to maintain the garden and pool nearly every day and kept the place in a very nice condition.

House-sitters definitely need a car as the house is a little out of the way. The beach is a short drive or a 10 minute walk. Bom Successo is the nearest town, about 5 min drive or 35 min walk, they have a very small super market a couple of typical Portuguese restaurants and of course the beautiful Lagoa de Obidos. For larger supermarkets or restaurants one must drive to Caldas da Rainha or Obidos both being about 20 min away with a car.

Overall Bloss and Dave are wonderful hosts and people and Paxi and Tackle are an absolute pleasure to have cared for!

Jane
I loved this sit! Jane's communication was great, arranging a video chat beforehand and keeping in touch in the lead up to the sit and throughout. She was really friendly and laid back, and was kind enough to leave me home cooked pie in the fridge for the first night, along with plenty of other essentials.
The home is absolutely beautiful and was very cosy and homely. I felt safe and comfortable there even though I was there alone. It is also equipped with everything you could ever want or need on a sit!
The animals were all adorable. Pip and Maggie won my heart immediately, and did not leave my side for the duration of the sit which was lovely. They enjoyed plenty of belly rubs and cuddles on the sofa, and loved going out for their runs each day and accompanying me to feed the other animals. The sheep are pretty independent but do come running in the morning for breakfast so if you're wanting a sheep selfie this is the best time! Belle the mini pony is super cute and I loved spending time grooming her and giving her a fuss. I also fell in love with all the chickens who are friendly and easy to catch. I picked them all up daily for cuddles and was rewarded with daily eggs :)
I genuinely can't rate this sit highly enough. I had a wonderful time and would 100% recommend staying here should you get the opportunity. I hope to come back and sit here again soon!
