We spent 7 weeks on the beautiful island of Andros looking after John and Sara’s 2 dogs, 4 cats, 11 chickens and cottage garden. The house is situated in a beautiful valley surrounded by hills - actually pretty green compared to a lot of Greece and there are several terraces where you can sit and look at the scenery and at night star gaze. It’s about 20 min drive around the hill road to the coast - main coastal town of Batsi was beautiful, crystal clear beaches, cafes and a few bars in meandering white cobbled streets - no crazy night-life but definitely a buzzy place. Also the capital city of Chora was well worth alike visit as was Korthi. John and Sara couldn’t have been more hospitable. We arrived the morning before and they picked up from the ferry at Gavrio and drove back to their home where they explained everything that we would be doing and introduced us to their animals. They were very friendly, generous and knowledgeable of the whole area and took us out to dinner the evening before they left. They were always on the end of whatsapp if we needed to contact them. We enjoyed freshly laid eggs daily and the produce from the garden which was a steady stream of huge tasty tomatoes, onions and green peppers and for the first few days some strawberries. Lexi the German shepherd was a complete joy to look after, as was little Ronnie the other dog - both were well behaved and very affectionate and we really enjoyed being with them. The cats did their own thing but I have to say they too were very affectionate and not once tried to bite or scratch us even in play. The nearby neighbours were all very friendly and happy to help us if we needed anything. You definitely need a car for this sit but then you can pretty much drive anywhere in the island in under an hour. We would more than recommend this sit to anyone who likes to experience the real Greek country life but with stunning beaches within easy distance. Thank you John and Sara for your kindness.
Minette and her family were nothing but welcoming. Felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Very comfortable sit and the animals were very well natured and a lot of fun - easy to form a bond with them! We would recommend this sit to anyone wanting a peaceful stay (as it is a bit secluded without a car) but other than that, we had a wonderful time ☺️
This was an awesome housesit! Toni and Elvis are some of the most personable, easy-going and good natured kitties I have ever stayed with. They are super sweet and make you feel right and home and are the best company. Tasha, the homeowner, is also super friendly and communicative. All instructions about the pets and home were clearly laid out and I felt very comfortable and at home the entire stay. I would absolutely recommend this sit to anyone who is lucky enough to hang out with Toni and Elvis, and I can't wait for the next time I can sit for them again :)
Joanna was an excellent host! She made me feel right at home and Charlotte was very hard to leave at the end. Her cuddly and spunky personality made the stay that much more special. Thank you Joanna (and Charlotte) 💕
Gorgeous home in a lovely neighborhood. Brixton was easy to care for. They are affectionate, occasionally over enthusiastic but respond well to firm boundaries.
Sasha's house is a wonderful place to stay. Zozo and Yoda are awesome cats. It was a pleasure to take care of them and spend time together!:)
