Lori, Heathers mother was our sitter for a little over a week. She met our dog and they instantly got along. We gave her a list of important info, some suggestions and then went for a walk together with Dakota. Our vacation was great, with periodic updates on how things were going at home. They went for walks and hikes in the hills around Asheville. She left our house looking great and watered our end of summer vegetable garden. We very much appreciate the love and care she gave to our pet in our absence.

Judy is a very generous and kind host who freely shares her knowledge of homesteading, farming, and Maine. Her farmhouse and property is steeped in history. Freeport is just a few miles away and is a wonderful town. Don't miss the wharf and lobster house in South Freeport and a walk at Wolf's Neck is a must. Bowstreet Market is a wonderful grocery store full of local produce. Goldendoodle Leona is a love. As of July 2024, Leona is still growing through puppy stages at 10 months and can be strong-willed mostly when Leona needs to walk or run in her fields. I enjoyed leashing Leona and walking her to see the horses next door. Exercising Leona atleast twice a day is essential. She does settle down and rest so there is ample quiet time to enjoy. Leona rests or sleeps beside you wherever you are. She is very loyal and will follow you and be with you as you explore the property or have quiet time reading or resting. She wants to be with her human and she is a shining example of why dogs are known to be man's best friend. I've read reviews about some sitters expecting an Air B & B type experience and this is far from that. This is a working farm and there will be dirt. Bring your boots. You'll pick produce from her beautiful organic garden and fruit trees. I harvested basil, green onion, picked raspberries and gathered eggs from the chickens. Feeding my vegetable scraps to the chickens was immensely satisfying as was composting things that were amended to her garden soil. I can't recommend a more enjoyable experience for someone that enjoys farms, nature, and can handle a loving, playful and at times strong willed dog. I felt full of gratitude when I said goodbye to Judy and her beautiful farm and I truly hope to visit again.

Anne
I’ve have never felt so immediately comfortable and welcome as I did when I met Anne. Upon my arrival she picked me up at the bus station, and took me on a brief tour of Ballina. She’s an incredibly kind and thoughtful host, she even made us dinner to share on my first night there. Rhia was such a delight to look after, aside from an early morning walk and feedings at meal times, she was all set. Pleasant, friendly and calm, you would barely even know she was there.

Often on Housesits I prefer to leave before the hosts return so that they can have a relaxing reentry to their home. But I was actually saddened to have not been able to see Anne again upon her return. I really hope our paths cross again.

Kaley
Kaley's place is wonderful and little Ash is adorable. Ash was shy at first but came around after a couple days and was a goofball. Kailey is super nice and her pad is centrally located - right next to the Metro stop. Great experience.

Sanaz
Sanaz and Alex have a beautiful home in a quiet residential neighborhood conveniently located in St. Paul. Their home is immaculate and super cozy. It was a short weekend sit and we truly enjoyed our stay. We were lucky that it was unseasonably warm and we must have hit the peak because the fall colors were gorgeous!!!

Alex gave a brief orientation upon arrival and Sanaz was always available if we had any questions. Merlin is a beautiful shy kitty; he kept his distance so we didn't have much time to really bond but he was super easy to take care of.

We highly recommend this sit and we'd definitely return if given the opportunity.

Erin
Erin was clear and helpful with information on the sit, including a useful graphic on canned food portioning, and guides to the neighborhood. TJ and Pixie were easy and sweet to care for.

Kyle and Doug
It was an wonderful experience housesitting for Kyle and Doug. Excellent communication and positive vibes from the start. They are very thoughtful people and true kindred spirits. Kyle set me up for success with a tour of the house before the sit, as well as leaving very comprehensive notes. I was made to feel very welcome and encouraged to make myself at home. They were timely in getting back to me whenever I had a question.
And Petra and Chani...stunningly beautiful cats. They were shy at first, but started to come out of their shells within a day... and then they became the loving and affectionate cats that they are. Perfect roommates to relax with. I miss them.
The house itself was just beautiful and fascinating, with fascinating decor from the family's world travels. And definitely a book lovers' paradise.
The house is located in the best section of Buffalo: The Elmwood Village, which is a very walkable area, close to restaurants, a grocery store, shops, and endless blocks of beautiful architecture to enjoy. On a scale of 1 to 5, this was a 10-star assignment. I would be very happy to watch Petra and Chani again. Thank you, Kyle and Doug, for selecting me!!
