Staying at Kalyn and Lukas' house was an incredible experience. Kalyn was lovely to me before leaving on her trip, she let me go a day early and picked me up where my Ferry arrived. She also treated me to a Greek dinner which was incredible (it was my first time eating Greek food). And she gave me clear instructions on everything before leaving. The area was very good, and they have a very nice house close to everything. Evie and Bella are completely awesome. Evie was a little sick when I arrived but seeing her recover little by little was a satisfaction for me, and she was very energetic afterwards. She is adorable. Like Bella, a very wonderful cat. Upon her return, she came with Lukas, so I got to meet him. They are a great couple!! They let me stay a few more days with them because I had nowhere to stay for those days. I really miss Evie and Bella!! Needless to say, I highly recommend this House Sitting!
I had the opportunity to watch over sweet little Alfie for a weekend in early July. About Sophia's Home Great location - right in the middle of St. Marks, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, bars, Starbucks, etc... There is a CVS a few minutes walk, which was handy. Those with mobility issues should note her apartment is on a third-floor walkup. About Sophia Sophia is very easy to speak to and shared all of the information required in advance. I had everything I needed, including towels, dishes and access to her TV & streaming accounts. I was able to meet her before she left to go through any questions and last minute details, which was helpful. About Alfie Sweet, affectionate, anxious little guy. Alfie has great recall, listens to general commands and has a little spinning quirk when nervous/excited, as well as on walks. He loved the dog park and it was a great way to get his energy out. Alfie is very smart and picks up quickly (we practiced "wait" training with snacks and "touch" training). He mostly will sit or lie beside you as he doesn't really play with any toys. He did struggle being left alone, even briefly, so I would suggest sitters who are comfortable spending the majority of the time with him as the best option for Alfie. All in all, I cherished spending time with Alfie and would recommend this sit to others.
We had a wonderful time in Eype with Truman! He is such a sweet and affectionate dog, and so well behaved. He’s so much fun to be around and we really fell in love with him, it was so hard to say goodbye at the end! Kwant and Steve made us feel so welcome in their home. They showed us all around the house and made sure we had everything we needed, including a printed map of their favourite walks with Truman and lots of other helpful info. The location is amazing, lots of fields nearby to go on long walks and only a few minutes to the beach. When we weren’t out with Truman it was so nice just enjoying the house and the lovely views from the upstairs living room, and snuggling with Truman on the sofa. We couldn’t ask for a better sit! Lovely people, lovely dog and the most beautifully decorated home I’ve ever been to. I hope we get to come back to see Truman one day ☺️
We really loved our time in Peter and Carole's home with Alfie. They were very kind and generous hosts; they made us feel very comfortable from the moment we met. We arrived a day before they left to meet Alfie and get a tour of the house, but they also left clear instructions and were available to answer any questions during our stay. The house is very comfortable and quiet; we felt privileged to enjoy the beautiful garden views every day while we worked. Collingham, Linton and Wetherby are lovely towns to walk around and there are also enjoyable walks in the countryside nearby. Alfie was great in daily and longer walks with us and a sweet companion at home in the evenings and mornings. He is very relaxed and independent and after a short time becomes your cuddly shadow. He is very well behaved and will show you his best tricks in exchange for treats :) We already miss him and will keep wonderful memories from our time in Collingham.
Stephanie's place was absolutely stunning and her dogs Roo, Blue and Jack were so playful and fun to hang around. Her landmates living on the property are so kind, I even got to sit in on a talk that was being given on the property. There was also a planned brief power outage one morning and everyone was extremely helpful in getting the generator set up in Stephanie's cottage. I don't think I could have asked for a better first Trusted Housesitters experience!
