I had such an incredible time at Tigh Crom in Lochaline. Lola, Buzz, and Leo are absolute sweethearts, and I thoroughly enjoyed their company. Lola was excellent on her lead, and it was always a joy to walk with her and appreciate the stunning scenery. She's allowed off the lead in certain areas and loves to wiz around everywhere, but she's always close and very aware of where you are (it’s impressive). Graham and Jo are also excellent hosts. I stayed with them the night before, they were extremely accommodating, and I really enjoyed spending time with them. Jo drove me around the area to show me various walking opportunities (all of which were wonderful) and the location of the local cafe and local shop. The neighbours and community, in general, are really lovely and are always up for a friendly chat. Tigh Crom itself is absolutely stunning, I felt very comfortable and at peace, and you can wake up to a beautiful sunrise view every day. Graham maintained regular communication before and during the sit to ensure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I would highly recommend this sit to anyone!
The town: just a 21 minute train from London, after a 15 min walk to the station. Good variety of grocery stores, restaurants, thrift stores and all the basics you may need. The home: luxurious, tasteful, well appointed, really comfortable. The home owners: seamless communication, clear instructions, very friendly, accommodating and generous. Simba, the star of the show: initially a bit needy, but on the whole loving and obedient, well trained, easy to take care of. I highly recommend this sit, and would be honored to return in the future.
Jo and John have a beautiful home in a wonderful location and it was a pleasure to stay there. Saffy is the cutest Westie and she took the arrival of two strangers and their even stranger dogs in her stride! She happily led the way round her usual local walks and positively danced with excitement when we took her to her local beach (Camber Sands). Jo communicated well before the sit and the hand over was thorough. We set up a WhatsApp chat to swap photos during the two weeks - mine cute doggy pictures and hers cute, or should I say magnificent, tiger pictures! She kindly allowed us to have family to stay over the Easter period and they all thoroughly enjoyed being there too. I cannot recommend this sit enough - if you fancy getting to know this part of Kent and East Sussex and it's available then grab it before someone else does!
I'll start by highlighting the positives. I proactively arranged to meet with the pet owner, Heather, and her husband weeks before the house sit began. I enjoyed meeting their corgis, and they seemed like a friendly couple who encouraged me to make myself at home and even welcomed me to have guests over. The corgis are sweet dogs, and I genuinely enjoyed my time caring for them. However, there are crucial issues I must warn any prospective house sitter about. During the house sit, I regularly sent texts and pictures of the dogs to Heather, but I often received no response for several days. The corgis required significantly more care than advertised, and Heather never communicated that it was nearly impossible for one person to walk both dogs simultaneously. The male corgi lunges and barks loudly at any person or dog it encountered and pulls hard on the leash. I'm a pretty fit male and I have no problem saying that 90% of people wouldn't be able to hold him back with one arm while walking another corgi with the other arm. Additionally, she instructed that they needed to be taken out three times a day, which meant I had to take six walks daily. On top of that, I was responsible for bringing in the mail, watering plants, and administering medication twice a day to one of the dogs. Although I made it clear upfront that I work from home, caring for their dogs became far more demanding than Heather initially indicated. During the second week, Heather’s emergency contact neighbor unexpectedly came over to the house without prior warning from Heather, making me feel very uncomfortable, especially since my personal belongings were there. Then, three days before the house sit was supposed to end, Heather abruptly messaged me, saying she had arranged for her neighbor to pick up the dogs and take them to doggy daycare. I was informed through TrustedHousesitters (THS) that she wanted the house sit to end immediately. She falsely claimed that I had abandoned her dogs, despite never communicating any intention to leave the sit early. This sudden change forced me to scramble to find an Airbnb, which was extremely stressful. Given these issues, I would advise anyone considering house sitting for her to avoid her at all costs. However, important things I'd warn any prospective housesitter about is that during the house sit I'd send texts and pictures of the dogs to Heather and would get no response from her for multiple days. The corgis were way more work than advertised and Heather never communicated that it was virtually impossible for one person to walk both dogs simultaneously. On top of this, she instructed that they needed to be taken out 3x a day. I had to essentially take 6 walks with the dogs every day while bringing in the mail, watering her plants, and giving medicine twice a day to one of the dogs. I was clear up front that I work from home, but caring for their dogs was becoming a lot more work than Heather initially communicated. During the 2nd week her emergency contact neighbor said she was coming over to the house. I was really uncomfortable with this since I had no prior warning from Heather and my personal belongings were at the home at the time. Lastly, 3 days before the house sit was supposed to end Heather messaged me seemingly out of the blue and said she had her neighbor come over to pickup the dogs and take them to doggy daycare and I was informed through THS that she wanted the house sit to abruptly end. She claimed that I abandoned her dogs which at not time communicated to her that I was leaving the sit early so I had to scramble and find and airbnb to stay in which was extremely stressful. With all this being said, I'd tell anyone considering housesitting for her to avoid her at all costs.
We had an incredible experience pet sitting Bella. She is the most adorable dog you can ever meet! she loves cuddles and to be by you side, she is a great company and very easy to take care of. The apartment is in such a beautiful location that we also enjoyed with her the walks around the lakes and parks of the neighbourhood! Danielle are Shravan are amazing hosts, very friendly and easy to communicate with. They have a beautiful apartment in the Greens & Views, the balcony face the skyline of the Marina and JBR so you can enjoy gorgeous sunsets with the bird signing from the golf court, the feeling is like a small paradise in the heart of Dubai. The pool and gym are amazing facing also the golf court with a jacuzzi and barbacue in the building. Highly recommended and thank you very much for the opportunity !
