This was a truly lovely sit. Cecilia is an easy going, friendly lady who was great at communication before and during our sit and made us feel at home immediately, she had left flowers all over the house to greet us! She also left a superbly comprehensive welcome pack. Her home is spectacular, full of history itself and containing wonderful fireplaces and period furniture but with a state of the art modern kitchen and bathroom. The garden is wonderful and very sunny. There are plenty of places to visit in the vicinity. The cats are very easy to care for. Timmy is much more vocal and nosey than Pepper who is a good huntress. Both of them like company and will search you out to sit beside you or have a chat. Both like being stroked and Timmy enjoyed a grooming. They are lovely good natured cats who were a delight. We would definitely sit here again if asked and would highly recommend this sit.
We were so blessed to be chosen to look after Boofa. He is just amazing, so happy and easy to care for. The home was beautiful and we have definitely formed a new friendship with the owners.
Joy is a lovely, laid-back lady who was welcoming, cheerful and kind to us. She was available to contact before, during and after our stay. Narla is such a sweet dog and very easy to take care of. We loved taking her for long walks in the beautiful surrounding area. Joy's cottage is quaint, rustic and beautiful. We loved using the fire in the living room. Would happily return to help Joy again
We had a lovely time house sitting for John and Jan and taking care of their 4 cats and 20 chickens. Although we were their first house sitters, the entire process of applying and then communicating before and during the sit was effortless and straightforward and we were instantly welcomed into their home upon our arrival. We had generously been invited to arrive a couple of days before their departure which gave us plenty of time to orientate ourselves with all that was required. The four cats were all entertaining in their own special ways and were easy to care for. The chickens provided plenty of delicious eggs and were also easy to care for. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time in a renovated old farm house in a tranquil corner of France, then this could well be the sit for you.
Linda and Dave made us very welcome. We shared a couple of meals with them before they left, and they walked us through the daily chores, demonstrating what needed doing. It took us a couple of hours each morning and evening to muck out the horses, feed and water the pigs and poultry, water the garden and care for the dogs. You definitely need to be fit and active for this work, and we would recommend work boots, and wet weather clothing as it can get muddy. The animals are all very calm and happy, a reflection of the care Linda and Dave lavish upon them, and we enjoyed our interactions with them all. Penny, the collie, just loved to help out with the jobs around the property, and is one of the most obedient dogs we have worked with. We enjoyed fresh eggs, and sampled some of the tastiest pork we have ever eaten, from their freezer. Linda and Dave’s home is in the middle of renovations, so we had builders for company, they were all very nice chaps, but their taste in music was not ours ! We still had plenty of privacy in the part of the house we were in. We would highly recommend this sit for people who want a taste of the country and enjoy working with very happy farm animals.
Tommy, Gus, and Isabelle are the sweetest, cutest, and funniest pets you’ll ever meet. They are all very well-trained and easy to take care of. Liz’s beautiful home is right in the nature with several hiking trails within walking distance. This makes walking Tommy much more exciting. You get to hike and walk the dog at the same time! The two cats (Gus and Isabelle) are also very sweet and cuddly. Although I was told that Gus is a bit shy, he warmed up pretty quickly when not bothered. Overall, I highly recommend this sit for those who love the nature and want to play with the three lovely furry friends.
