We were very spoilt with a gorgeous home in a idyllic location. The family was very welcoming and the pets beautifully behaved. If you are looking for a nice break, in company of lovely animals and beautiful countryside, with loads of atractions on your doorstep, this is a place to be!

This was a really wonderful sit, our first with THS. Communication prior to the sit was great, with emails and a phone call from Sarah. On arrival, before they left, Sarah and Martin welcomed us warmly with coffee and a tour, which we really enjoyed and appreciated. We had received a soft copy of the Welcome Guide before we arrived, and a printed copy was left, which was very handy as we could refer to it occasionally as needed. Lola and Marley are friendly, affectionate, energetic, and happy dogs, each with their own sweet personalities. Besides playtime, we walked them twice daily. When off-leash, on the odd occasion when they were distracted, they responded virtually immediately to their whistle. Sarah and Martin have a beautiful home, very comfortable, spacious and filled with character. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous. The area has wonderful walks right from the doorstep, and a short drive to some interesting attractions, such as the Shuttleworth Collection. We would love to come again if asked and were available, to visit everyone!

This was my first assignment using Trustedhousesitters.com and it worked out wonderfully.

I currently live in Richmond, VA, a couple hours distant from Jesse and David’s place in Alexandria and took the time to drop by and visit with them prior to the sitting dates. I think this worked well for both of us, going a long way toward assuring them they had a responsible, reliable person available to look after their pets and property, and assuring me that I had a manageable situation.

Jesse and David are both warm, friendly, self-assured, and very personable. Their two feline companions, Bunny and Persephone, are easy-going and fun to be around. Persephone is the aloof one. Bunny is the flirt, constantly on prowl for treats. She also loved to curl up next to me on the sofa while I watching TV, reading, or editing my photographs, which, I must admit, I found quite endearing.

The neighborhood is neat and safe and within walking distance of a small shopping center with a grocery store (Safeway) and several restaurants. There is a bus line available but since I had a car I did not use public transportation. I’d assume the walk-score for the area is around 65. You’re best with a car here, or at least a reliance on Uber/Lyft.

The area, Rose Hill Farms, is close-by Old Town Alexandria as well as downtown Washington, DC. There is a Metro (Tube) Connection in Springfield, about 2 miles away. If you have an interest in visiting the Washington DC Metro Area, this is a good location to do it from.

Thanks to Jesse and David both for providing me the opportunity for this assignment. And if the opportunity arises for you, I wholeheartedly recommend them and Persephone and Bunny - especially Bunny :)

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this sit. Phil and Lynn are absolutely lovely. Their home is beautiful and cozy, with wonderful outdoor spaces and an easy walk to trails and the beach. And Remi stole my heart! He is a bundle of puppy energy and love. We bonded right away, and he was great to hang out at the house with and to go on adventures with. He’s a chewer, as most puppies are, so keep your shoes etc behind closed doors! He is crate trained and was really great about going to his crate when I was leaving or it was bedtime. He’s super affectionate and I miss him already!

We had the best stay/sit here! Paul and Nikki were so lovely and welcoming, they even gave us pizza & drinks, and everything was super clear in terms of animal care. We have fallen head over hills for Nelly & Sunny - lots of cuddles & kisses and playing in the field! We can't
recommend sitting for them enough! Thank you so much for a lovely stay :)

I had a wonderful time with sweet Sophie! It was a short sit but she warmed up to me straight away and was lovely company. Amy and Amy have a beautiful home walking distance to downtown Northampton, yet it feels as though it's a cottage in the countryside. They were easy to communicate with, left a detailed welcome packet and made me feel trusted and welcomed. I would love to be their sitter again in the future!
