Communication with Nancy was excellent from the start. We arrived the day before they left which gave us a chance to meet them and Luna. Nancy & Mark were very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. Their instructions were clear and a copy was left for us. The house was beautiful and spotlessly clean! We spent a lot of time enjoying their back patio. The neighborhood is very quiet and the few roundabouts allowed us to take walks with Luna. Luna is a sweet little dog, intelligent and enchanted by the smell of rabbits. When we took our walks, she was totally excited when she discovered their scents and we had to have a steady hand not to lose her under a tree or bush! I originally wanted to take her hiking with us but on our first day on the Blue Ridge Parkway we saw 2 bears which made me change my mind as I was afraid to let her off leash on the trails. We are used to seeing deer and not bears in our area. Luna likes to sleep at the foot of the bed or at least in the same room as us. We were able to get her to sleep in her little bed at the foot of our bed and in the morning she would come and snuggle with us! Overall, we loved taking care of Luna while being so close to town and the Blue Ridge. We would be happy to return if the opportunity arose!
I really enjoyed my sit for Elena's family, spending time with their kitty Wispy, checking out the shrimp tank, and tending the diminutive silkie chickens. Elena and her husband were communicative and appreciative; she even left some delicious lasagna, chocolate, and a lovely bath products gift basket for me. The neighborhood is pleasantly walkable, and the house feels comfy and easy, with a huge range of toys and art-making supplies. I believe this sit would be especially excellent for families that include kids.
Laurie’s home was more amazing than we had expected. Her 2 dogs and 2 cats were wonderful companions. Finn was the elder citizen of 14. His eyes were filled with wisdom. He loved our walks about the woods, bluff and beach! Trinket was a year old pretty girl, so photogenic !! The cats warmed up to us and became a part of our pack. It’s so refreshing to have cats who are both indoor and outdoor. They have the life! And we had a great retreat to a beautiful part of California. We would love to do it again!
I had the best experience taking care of Moose. Tim and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming, and made sure I felt comfortable in their home. And Moose is such a sweet dog, he was a joy to care for and we had a lot of fun together.
Everything was great! Parents are very hospitable. Ziggy is very friendly and sweet. In the begining he can a little bark but it is just for form:)
I totally enjoyed my sit for Candace. Bentley and Merlin were great company. Bentley greeted me at the door upon my arrival and each time I entered after that. They both enjoyed couch time with me, giving me lots of purrs and affection as I gave them scratches and scritches. The neighborhood is good for walking, and Candace's home has everything I needed. Candace was always responsive to any questions I had and made my stay very pleasant. I definitely recommend this sit, and I hope to come back again!
