Lovely cats with loads of personality, very pleasant and caring home owners and comfortable home. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
This was a unique and rewarding experience. Pim and Stuart are very gracious and well-organized hosts who provide everything needed to carry out the various tasks involved for the sit. Their splendid strawbale home is located on an idyllic lifestyle block in the middle of a spindly-tree forest with wild rabbits hopping about and many songful birds passing through. The official residents are dogs, donkeys and chooks, all with endearing personalities! I really grew fond of caring for these characters, walking Lucy & Whistle at the beach, moving Hoti & Travis to fresh plots of grass and handfeeding them apples and carrots. Even watching the hens prance about as they awaited their morning salad was a source of joy. And let's not forget "the egg song": I enjoyed delicious farm-fresh eggs every day. The nights are peaceful and quiet, with bright stars in the sky--a perfect place for a retreat in the countryside.
I had the privilege of house sitting for Teresa here in lovely Virginia Beach. There townhome is conveniently located to the beach, shops and restaurants with a car. They have two cats. Steve Rodgers and Buckey. They are both adorable from they very start. They love to cuddle and sit on your lap. They like to play with a stick or laser pointer (especially Buckey). They both love to sit in the back screened in porch and stare at the gueese in the back pond. Teresa is always easy and available via text for anything you need and very easygoing. She is definitely a pet lover and sits for other pets all the time.
Finn is a fun-loving playful boy who loves chasing a wand and getting attention but never in a negative way. He really is a sweet angel purrfect cat. Zeus is an orange tabby with a beautiful leonine face. He wasted no time in letting us know we were strangers and he was wary of our presence, but with treats and patience we got him around to the point where he was happy to hang out in a room with us -- even sit on the same couch and return our loving blinks -- as long as his boundaries were respected. Both were well-behaved gentle souls. Petcare was simple. One litter box. Automatic feeders, and at this point no medications. The home had been professionally cleaned when we arrived, and keeping it clean was easy as it isn’t huge or cluttered, so vacuuming and wiping things down daily, and making sure the litter box is scooped and contained, is all that is needed. It’s a beautiful uncluttered apartment with modern conveniences, lots of light, even a partial bay view, and a huge television if you just want to Netflix and chill with the kitties while enjoying Uber-eats like a native. We weren’t familiar with Dogpatch which was previously a warehouse/industrial place. Many new buildings have sprung up, and it has that vibe of an up and coming but still chill community, with enough local places and history to make for an interesting walk. It is super convenient to many mass transit options, so it’s a great point to explore the city and it always felt great “coming home” to the comfortable space and the excellent cats. Yael and Amber were great hosts. Easy to communicate with, and with helpful suggestions for the cats and the neighborhood. Written instructions were excellent and included neighborhood suggestions, and they even provided videos for help with some house stuff that would be new to us. This is a recommended sit, and we’d be happy to return.
This was wonderful sit and a fantastic introduction to Asheville. Paisley and Topo-gigio are excellent company. They are very affectionate and low maintenance. Esmee and her family were very welcoming and provided more then I would ever need for a sit. The house is very comfortable and beautiful like the area it's in. Would recommend this sit to anyone for sure.
Martha and Paul went over and beyond to help prepare me for my stay in their home by providing me detailed instructions and videos for traveling there and feeding the pets. I greatly appreciated being able to use their bikes during my time there as it helped me tour around the area. Their home is just a 5 minute bike ride to the water and less than 10 minutes to the main square. As for their cats and dogs, they were all well-behaved, very sweet, and friendly; I greatly enjoyed their company. Highly recommend :)
