We really enjoyed our time with Chewy. Such a sweet boy. We had some great walks with him around the neighborhood trails. We loved sitting outside with him by the koi pond, so peaceful. It was great meeting Tom and Jeanne, they cooked a lovely dinner for us when we arrived. We very much enjoyed their company and their cool Adobe home. A well traveled couple with some great stories. They made us feel very much at home. The location was perfect for us. So close to Bandelier National Monument and Valles Caldera, such amazing places. Easy drive in to Santa Fe to see the sights there. We loved hiking in the Jemez Mountains.
House sitting for Katherine was a treat. Chloe is well-trained, low-maintenance, and gave me no trouble at all. Looking after her was a breeze. I had some easy watering duties for the garden which was a delight and I quite enjoyed eating fresh berries off the bush every day =) Katherine's home is clean, sunny and cozy, with a well-equipped and stocked kitchen and lots of books. She gave me her own bedroom and bathroom with vaulted ceilings, gorgeous morning light and the soothing sound of a water fountain out back. My time there was like a meditation retreat. The neighbors are all fabulous – I felt safe and seen. It’s a sweet, peaceful, lush-green town with a friendly vibe. The Silver Falls State Park is a must, and Katherine has all the maps you could need, along with her own wonderful sightseeing recommendations. I needed to stay two nights after her return, which ended up being the highlight of my stay! She cooked and fed me fresh produce from the backyard and was a most gracious host. For the sit, she provided detailed guidance well ahead of time and was responsive to any questions I had while she was away. Sitters would be lucky to get a chance to work with Katherine. I would go back in a heartbeat.
I was SO very happy to return to my friend Margaux's home with Fizzy, Buddy and Lulu! It is great that I was booked via TH for this sit — as Margaux was one of my original character / sit references when I joined this site in early 2023. This home is so beautiful and comfortable—with the most affectionate, sweet and charming fur fam. Fizzy is shy but so sweet and funny! We had a great time staying at Kevin and Adam's house in Mt Pleasant. Bourbon was very well behaved and great off-leash in parks. She (like a lot of labs) is very ball and treat driven. She requires a bit of patience on leash en route to the park but Kevin explained this in advance, and we liked to train her and reward her when she heeled. She knows her commands well! Bourbon showed us the local cafes and dog parks of Mt Pleasant - we really enjoyed our sit.
We had a great time looking after Thor, he was super cute and easy to look after. It was a pleasure staying at Kunal & Arunima’s, they left us really good instructions which helped a lot during our sit.
