We had a fantastic time in Sujeewa's family home in Amersham. We video chatted in advance and the communication was excellent. She had taken real care to talk us through the detail of the house (particularly as there was some building work in progress) and dogs so we knew exactly what to expect. The house was great and Pixie and Troy are lovely. They are easy to look after and very sweet. The village and surrounding area is fantastic, we had a brilliant housesit.
Millie was our first sit after saying goodbye to our beloved dog Reuben and she couldn’t have been a better fit. She is a smart, well-behaved, active and strong companion. We truly enjoyed our time with her. Janice welcomed us a day ahead of schedule since we had a long drive. She was knee deep in preparing for her super awesome Paddle Florida weekend but took time to give us the lay of the land and make us feel comfortable. Her home is perfectly located between the beach and the inlet which makes for great walks, beach days, paddle outings, and birding. Millie needs and loves her exercise and walks - she can field a ball like crazy and gets so excited when you suggest a walk. She has great manners, too. She waits to get off the beach to relieve herself. Leave her home for relaxing beach visits or walks to restaurants. She’s not interested in making friends with other dogs. Give them a wide berth when out walking and stay alert. She responds well to a tug and command. I highly recommend the free ferry ride to Fort Matanzas for an interesting and educational outing. Also, walk up the street to the Cuban cafe. It’s delicious. Also, there are great libations, live music, and dancing in a truly Old Florida environment at the quirky World Famous Oasis a short drive away. We hope to return and spend time with Millie and soak in some sunshine. Thanks for the opportunity.
This sit was an absolute delight from my initial chat with Sylvie to saying goodbye to Titus and Phoebe after four weeks together. Sylvie is a welcoming, generous host who took the time to ensure I was settled in before she left. She provided detailed instructions and consistent friendly communications throughout my stay while she was overseas with her husband Philippe. You couldn’t ask for better. The house was immaculate and as large and luxurious as shown in the listing and described in previous sitter reviews. I won’t elaborate again here as Sylvie and Philippe are moving on so will be irrelevant for future sitters. I will say, though, that a highlight for me was getting to know the neighbours during the daily dog walks around the lake and local village-like neighbourhood. I felt part of their warm community from the get-go. A big thank you to them! But, without doubt, the best part of this sit was spending time with the adorable Titus and Phoebe! They are well loved by Sylvie and everyone in the area and will be greatly missed when they leave. Titus has such a gentle nature and loves his ball games with a fervent obsession - I loved our soccer games every day (his ball skills omg!!). Phoebe is such a sweet little girl who took a bit longer to get close to but we then became very attached to each other - I’ll miss her kisses on my cheek while watching TV with them. Both were super easy to look after and saying goodbye was hard. I highly recommend Sylvie as a host and Titus and Phoebe to sit with in their new home, this is pet/house sitting at its best!
5 stars all the way! We had a great sit, though it was too short! Riley was so fun to get to know - he loves belly rubs and tennis balls more than anything! He is easy to care for, well trained, and an overall joy to spend time with! Bear, who is Rick and Roberta's daughter's dog, also was with us for this sit and she's a sweetheart. Bear required a little more than Riley - she takes some medicine (easily, in her breakfast) and makes a bit of a mess while drinking water - but they were well set up to combat that with a special container for her food and water, plentiful dog towels, and mops! The home is in a stunning location - we had a hot weekend so we swam, jumped off their dock and used their kayaks. Rick's suggestion for where to get steamed crabs was perfect and having them on their back porch overlooking the water was truly an idyllic Maryland experience. The bed was comfortable, kitchen was excellent and everything was clean and well organized. The neighborhood was great for walking the dogs - water views abound at nearly every turn. Neighbors came by to say hi and drop off some fresh garden produce and we felt very supported if anything were to go awry, but at the same time felt like we had privacy! We thank them again for their hospitality and would definitely love to return!
Violet is sweet and chatty, and very playful. Sydney is an ace communicator and the space has everything you need.
Grace's home was in the most perfect location in Denver! The train stop was less than a block away and took you all over the city. The neighborhood was a treat and has an awesome Farmer's Market on the weekend. Nellie was also a fantastic dog to watch and was a joy to spend the weekend with!
