I recently had Kay as a pet sitter for a month while I was away, and while she is a nice person and mentioned enjoying her stay, there were several issues that I feel compelled to share. Firstly, Kay asked me to help pay for her plane tickets, which was unexpected. I had communicated my plans with her four months in advance, but she waited until just a month before her flight to purchase the tickets. This created a lack of transparency and caused significant anxiety on my part, as I had to find other people to fill potential gaps that I could not confidently declare in a decent amount of time. Additionally, Kay seemed unprepared for international travel despite her claims of having prior experience. This was evident when she arrived and had not read the detailed Welcome Guide in the app, which would have alleviated some of her travel anxiety and better prepared her for the care of my pets. Throughout her stay, I received very infrequent updates on my animals. This was concerning, especially because one of my cats, who required extra care, lost over two pounds during the month. I have reached out to Kay for an explanation but have not received a response after two days. To clarify, I had not specified how often I wanted updates, but a decline in an animal's health would seem to necessitate some kind of messaging. While Kay seems like a kind person, based on my experience, I cannot recommend her for sitting animals with medical needs or for situations that involve international travel.
Den was an excellent sitter for our pups while we were away. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting him and his pup, Annie. They are both delightful. We only had a short time of personal contact with them, before leaving and turning things over to him. We were comfortable and confident he would be attentive and loving with our pets. We were not wrong! He was prompt to respond and looked after our home and pups with great care and attention. We would welcome Den and Annie back anytime!
