A brilliant sit from start to finish. Whilst it’s a cliché that dogs reflect their owners, Layla is a kind, happy, fun-loving, intelligent, energetic bundle of fun, a totally joyful dog, reflecting Maureen and Tim. Being a collie cross, she likes lots of stimulation, so please don’t accept this sit if your idea of a dog walk is 5 mins round the block. You’ll be missing out on so much – T&M live in beautiful countryside with stunning views and fab off-lead dog walking territory with woods, fields, ponds, streams and dog welcoming cafes all in walking distance. Fellow walkers are friendly and you’re guaranteed a wonderful stay. The more you put in with Layla, the more you get back – we took her everywhere, beaches, cafes, restaurants, shopping, friends’ houses & even ParkRun, she’ll make you proud to be with her. She can be willful and not always recall instantly but that’s all part of her charm. We fell in love with her completely. Maureen and Tim could not have been more welcoming or reassuring. They made us feel at home in an instant, greeting us with a thoughtful supper, totally faultless hosts, living in an idyllic spot, away from busy roads, no neighbours, down a farm track. Their lovely home has the most fabulous multitude of outdoor spaces including spectacular terraces overlooking the surrounding farmland. You can gaze out with a glass in hand, sun setting & the local dairy herd munching contentedly below, with Layla watching the wildlife. They have an orchard where Layla will happily rest or enjoy a spot of ball throwing or many pretty spots in the garden. Indoors there is everything you need including a wonderful log burner for chillier evenings and a sitting room that shares the glorious views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, were very sad to leave & would go back in a heartbeat and consider T&M firm friends.
Melanie and Gary are very open and welcoming people. Instructions were very detailed, which was appreciated with so many to take care of! 😊 Finn and Donny went on the trip with Mom and Dad, so I didn’t take care of them, but did meet them and they’re very affectionate! Chickens, donkeys, goats, cats were all affectionate, fun and well behaved. 😊 The home is well appointed, large and in a beautiful and extremely peaceful area in the mountains. Fairly centrally located, so convenient for wherever you want to go in the county. I would definitely sit here again. Thank you!
I had a great stay and time at Miros place. I felt welcomed and she is easy going, and I had an excellent, easy going and non complicated communication! Kike and Mickey are lovely, easy going, friendly and I enjoyed all my moments with them. Look forward to seeing them all again!
Person - Carrie was great with communication throughout the sit. She clearly LOVES her dogs and is a great fur baby mom. Pets - Jack and Dora are 140 pounds of the sweetest lap dogs you’ll find. We had a great time with them on a couple of walks a day. Jack does pull some while on leash, but just add it to workout schedule. Both dogs will expect to share the master bedroom and bed with you. Place - this was our 3rd THS sit and at the time we arranged the sit, didn’t realize that there were no photos of either bedroom. Sitting as a couple, even though the master bedroom has a king size bed, it’s a bit tight with 2 large dogs and two adults. The spare bedroom has a comfy bed, but it’s really more of a storage room with no closet or drawer space. Hopefully by the time you read this, Carrie will have made the sleeping arrangements a bit more clear on her listing.
Taking care of Clover was a breeze; she's loving, gentle and enjoyed playing so we got along great. She was 50/50 with other dogs, so had to be controlled on walks around them, but overall she was wonderful. Marshmallow was mostly an invisible presence but enjoyed a bit of attention too. I'd recommend house/pet sitting for Jennifer and her family- they are nice people.
