Sitting for Joanne and Chris was a treat! Their home is located in a beautiful Mediterranean-style development in the heart of East Santa Barbara, very convenient to all of the attractions of downtown and multiple beaches. Their adorable dog, Milo, is very easy to take care of, as a fluffy little cloud of a pooch. Many thanks for a truly lovely sit!
We had a lovely week staying in the upstairs gîte behind the restaurant run by David and Fiejette, our busy but relaxed and welcoming hosts. The three dogs we looked after were an absolute delight and very easy to care for. Flo and Fifi the senior collies loved a gentle walk, a dip in the river and a tummy rub, while Teddy, at only 2 yrs old was a bundle of joy who often had “the zoomies” on walks but was also happy to chill back at home. All 3 stayed in the gîte with us at night and were good and easy company. We also had some outdoor cats and chickens to feed which was a ‘once a day’ job so very easy. We found the gîte very comfortable but it’s worth noting that in the warm weather when sleeping with the windows open, the road at the front can be quite busy with some traffic noise that does quieten overnight but also starts quite early. The area was really interesting and the local town, Vaison-La-Romaine, well worth a visit, with it’s medieval village, Roman remains and huge weekly market. Also some really good hiking in the area, and of course Mont Ventoux was just a short drive away. The doggies were fine left at home for a couple of hours when we went exploring. So, thank you David and Fiejette for a lovely stay. We’d be happy to return in the future and would recommend this sit to others also.
I enjoyed everything about this stay. Lovely, comfortable home in a terrific location. Loved the garden and sitting outdoors. Great neighbourhood with everything you need within easy walking distance. There are very frequent buses 150 meters from the house into the city centre and a rail station that is an easy 10-minute walk as well. Wonderfully kind communication and warmth from Abby from start to finish. And the cats are the best! Shiva and Kali are charming and easy to look after. A huge “Thank you” to Abby. I hope I have a chance to return.
Lynn was such a welcoming host and her house was the perfect base to explore this beautiful part of Spain. Being able to walk the dogs right from the house was ideal and it was hard to drag myself away from the pool and that stunning view. A cancelled flight meant staying for an extra 36 hours and Lynne graciously put me up. One adventure lived and a friendship forged - perfect!
I absolutely adored Eve's two little Chihuahuas, Nutmeg and Yara, and she has the most beautiful and friendly cat I've met in quite some time. We had a great couple of days hanging out, they're little cuddle bugs and very easy to manage. I think of them fondly and often. I would absolutely endorse watching these pets and I hope I'll have the opportunity to do so again soon!
This house is beautiful, calming and an absolute treat to stay in. Sadie is the most loving and attentive dog - she is great company! Jackie and Mike were always available for questions and I never felt like I was interrupting them on their vacation. 5 star experience all around.
