WOW !!!! What a different experience than your usual sit

The uniqueness of this sit has made it one of our most fun and favorite stays for sure. We were fortunate enough to stay at their beautiful (circa 1555) French Chateau for 6 weeks situated in the rolling countryside near several bastide villages. Catherine and Jono repeatedly would be gone for a week or two attending to other business and then be back home for a day or two before heading back out for another week or two at a time. They are an extremely hospitable couple and this arrangement made for a fantastic opportunity to really get to know them while sharing meals and chatting and ALWAYS laughing together during the times they would be home. They just have the best attitudes about life and experiences mixed with an incredible sense of humor that allows you to truly be yourself as well. We just cannot say enough about this fun couple we would call our friends now 😍

This location is 100% out in a rural FRENCH speaking area which makes for a fun experience as a couple who speaks maybe 5 French words between us. BUT the people are SO friendly and as long as you are trying everybody just laughs and you figure out what each other are attempting to say. We loved it!!! There are quite a few British expats living in the area and they are extremely helpful as well when you are at the village markets which are absolutely wonderful. We were here in the dead of winter yet the landscape is still so vibrantly green and the vegetables incredibly fresh. Definitely one of Robin's favorite things was finding the local village market of the day.

And then of course there is Lucy and Neffertiti. Neffi is 100% energy and a love bug. She wants to be with you everywhere you go and is always bringing you gifts. She is ready on the spot ANYTIME you want to take a walk around their 100 acres of playground as well as the surrounding area. She wants to roam, run and explore as much as possible. She has the cutest nudge of the nose to place your hand exactly where she thinks it needs to be to properly pet her. Lucy is Lucy. First and foremost she is a herding guard dog. Whereas Neffi is all over the place on your walks, Lucy is going to be within 10-15 yards of you to protect you from the wild and unknown. These two canines are still fairly new to each other so Lucy wants to be Alpha and occasionally will react to Neffi for status. Do NOT get between Lucy and her food as this is her focal point. She is sweet and loves to be brushed as often as you are willing and will lean into you for good back rubs.

When discussing this place with our family and friends we talk about all the fun and the things we did while we were here, but I think this sums it up the most - we were here for 6 weeks and it rained on us for 5 of them AND we would come back tomorrow.

Annie
Annie was a great host. The house was stocked with everything I could possibly need (cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper) for the whole duration of my stay. The communication was always good and fast.

Nikka and Rafa were great company for my time in Wellesley. They were always there to greet me when I got home and kept me company on the couch or on the bed. I miss them already.

Valerie
Valerie’s home was very cozy, clean, and situated in a very good location. Coming from NYC, I was surprised by the walkability of the area and loved looking at the neighborhood homes and proximity to key locations.
As for the studio, it is very comfortable and has everything you need. Valerie is responsive and welcomes any questions you may have!
Norman is such a cute kitty. He is affectionate and has youthful energy. He may cuddle close to you and loves belly rubs.
Would definitely house sit again for Valerie!
