I have loved every single sit I did since joining Trustedhousesitters, but this has truly been one of the most enriching and amazing experiences and remains one of my favorite sits. From Linda's beautiful cottage to the impeccable garden surrounding it, her adorable pups - twin Carly & Benny, the most energetic Russian River Pirate Poodles you'll ever encounter, along with their older, yet smaller in size, sister Kelsi, to Linda herself, the most generous, lovely and altogether amazing and warm human being - there is never a dull moment in Forestville. I don't have enough words to describe how amazing Linda is. You're lucky if you get chosen to housesit for Linda. I sure look forward to housesitting for her again and again.
We couldn't have asked for a better sit and are so grateful Kara allowed us to care for her lil crew. Tuffy, Trixie and Churchill are the most sweet, chilled and loving set of animals one could care for. If we could, we would adopt them with no hesitation. Their happy and easy going nature makes them irresistible. Being a bulldog, Tuffy is a strong lil fella and can be a lil stubborn at times when walking but as long as you know how to tackle it in a kind way then he will surprise you with his swift speed. Kara was wonderful and welcomed us into her clean, warm and cosy home. Making us feel comfortable and taken care of. The location couldn't have been better! In a sweet lil swiss town only a walk away from the train that allows you to access some of Switzerland's most breathtaking sites. Thanks Kara, it was a special experience and one we hope to do again in the future.
Martha was an amazing pet parent. She and the whole family were communicative and super nice. Ella and Max are beautiful pups with sweet natures. They loved lots of pets and cuddles and were so excited for every walk around the park and neighborhood. It was so adorable!! Max cuddled up in bed at night with me and followed me around most of the time 😘 Ella sat next to me for pets and loving! They were so sweet. Only barked when excited for their walks. Kept a bit of reign on them when seeing other larger dogs on our walk but easily manageable. They just barked a bit. And course had to sniff out all the other dog smells along the way. Smaller dogs didn’t seem to bother them. They both love to fetch the balls and we had a lot of fun with that. The house is well, easy to get comfortable with. And Martha even offered me use of their e-bikes and shared great trails in the neighborhood. I would definitely sit for them again if in the area.
We spent a very comfortable month in Mick and Susan’s roomy house enjoying Jake and Annie’s company. They and the house were easy to care for. We were welcomed by Susan and Mick the night before they left and had a night in common on their return which made the hand-over very smooth. Our hosts were warm, relaxed and clear about what was needed. They generously lent us their bicycles and kayak and didn’t mind that we had friends to stay during our sit. We were offered veggies from their garden which we enjoyed. There was no rain so we watered regularly. Annie and Jake have no special needs and love to be with you. There are many trails in the area and they enjoyed coming along. Mick and Susan also have great neighbours who made us feel very welcome. The region has much to offer, from the local music scene in Duncan to the culinary farm to table options and wineries in the Cowichan Valley. We can see why you decided to move here. We already miss the mountains, the sea, the ice cream and the dogs ! Megan & David
Johanna and Henrik were very lovely people. The sit was meant to be for their German Shepherd, however due to allergies they had to rehome her before our sit began. Since it was a bit last minute they still allowed us to come and stay in their home to "watch their frog" (there was nothing required of us to do for the frog for the couple days) :P We are so grateful for this! Their home was gorgeous and we felt very comfortable there. Public transport was just a couple minutes away so it was very easy to get into town for some sight seeing. Thanks for having us Johanna & Henrik!
I had a great time with Cannelle, Titta, Noisette, Chocolat, Pistache and Babelutte. It was such a joy to stay with them, they are very special and I miss them a lot. Thank you Bernadette for the wonderful time.
