John & Helen we’re the best owners/hosts we could ever ask for.. ❤️ Their home was a delight to live in for the duration we were looking after Alfie. We had a beautiful sleep every night and had everything we needed .. and more. We had lots of fun taking in the local sights , forest walks and lots of wildlife to see early in the morning .. Deer, Boars, Rabbits and a local Heron. We were totally in our element.. As was Alfie! John and Helen welcomed us in to their home and even made us lunch and dinner on the two days before they left where we had time to talk about Alfie and his needs. Helen picked us up from Velinès station a few days before they left & also dropped us off early on our last day returning home. We really appreciated this. Helen kindly took us around their local lake walk with Alfie when we first arrived , where we had lots of time to chat and get to know one another. They kindly allowed us to drive their electric car so we could get around to see some local attractions and get to nearby walks. Because of this, we had the chance to go and visit Saint Emillion one afternoon, a place they recommended us to visit. That was a real treat and a beautiful , historical place in the famous wine region of France, a must see! Alfie was an ease to look after. He was the happiest during his walks and whenever we arrived back at the house , we would hide a treat for him to find. He loved the relaxing evenings also, snuggling up to us watching TV. He warmed up to us very quickly. We would come back in a heartbeat to look after Alfie. ❤️❤️ Thank you Helen and John for a wonderful time. We hope to meet again in the near future. Mari & Themis x

Excellent Autumn sit with our choice of a picturesque Cottage was as described in Profile. The vocal ducks on the village pond and their daily antics became avid viewing for us. Emma is a playful, happy and placid companion who took us on good local walks, on and off lead (were safe) but like all labs ‘an eye on the next tasty treat’. Fortunately Chris had warned us so we were able to precipitate any intended ‘dash through the hedge’. Maisie is a real sweetheart and despite her own deafness manages perfectly well. Very generous with her cuddles and lets you know when it’s time to get off the sofa to serve up her meals - Chris went through stuff with us prior to the sit and left clear written (& pictorial) information which is always a plus. We also received a generous welcome pack of basics & goodies. The Pub on the doorstep does great food, good beer (kept well) and wine-all served by a happy friendly team. Overall a lovely peaceful sit in a very nice location, thanks Chris.
