Although you stay at a operational farm, this house-sit is well recommended for people who love peace and quiet! You can take a stroll in the park of the domain or just test the hammock in Andrea and Tim’s private garden. The cats Tuna, Chips and Popcorn are, once you have won their trust, very affectionate. So be prepared for a lot of cuddling! You live in a two hundred and fifty year old mostly original building with all the necessary modern comfort. With Andrea and Tim you immediately get the feeling that you belong. This also applies to the other residents on the farm. There is always time for a chat. If you prefer to eat out, we found "Le Saint Bernard" and "Sicilia in Bocca" most agreable. Andrea, Tim we had a great time. Thanks!
We felt lucky to look after Buddy and Molly - two kind hearted and well mannered pets, in a gorgeous modern home, and in a beautiful part of town. Molly likes to keep to herself, so it felt extra nice when she decided to show us some affection. She's not timid or mean, but simply independent and happy to do her own thing. Buddy liked to spend time with us, yet wouldn't impose himself and would enjoy quietly hanging out. He can be a little jumpy at times, but never once barked. Taking him to the beach for a run and a swim was great fun! David and Clare were exceptionally helpful and accommodating, leaving us well-informed and comfortable. Thanks for such a nice little holiday!
This is a sit that will be hard to beat! From our first contact, the communication with Julie and Robert was excellent. They were prompt at replying or reaching out to me to prepare for the sit, including sending short videos of the cats’ feeding ritual or how things worked in their home. They were very flexible at accommodating my late arrival and early departure. I didn’t have the chance to meet Julie and Robert in person but our video chats and WhatsApp messages before and during the sit have made me wish I lived closer to have the opportunity to just hang out with them. Upon hearing my intentions of visiting the area, they provided me with tips on a variety of activities and suggestions of restaurants. I felt immediately welcomed walking in their home. They had left me a detailed note containing pertinent information and additional suggestions geared towards my interests, accompanied by a bottle of wine to enjoy after my days spent exploring, hiking or at the beach. Their home is absolutely gorgeous. It is clean, organized, located in a beautiful residential neighborhood with friendly neighbors and a beautiful trail right next to it. Choupie and Rouki were great to catsit. They entertained themselves, which as a result is entertaining to the humans watching! Choupie is beautiful and uses her charms as diversion for her escape attempts while Rouki’s priorities seem to be food and cuddles. Julie & Robert, as well as their home and their cats, are welcoming and make you wish the sit was for a longer period. I even considered giving a one-star review to have better chances to be picked if they ever seek a sitter again! :-) Thank you so much Julie and Robert for having given me this great opportunity!
Gigi and Scott were so incredibly nice and hospitable! They had great communication with me, and their home was warm and inviting. Sadie was such a sweet and spunky puppy and was great company while I was in CA. She was well behaved and I enjoyed our daily walks by the beach!
Saskia and Rolf welcomed me with open arms I to their home. They were extremely hospitable, warm and welcoming. I had a wonderful time with benson and Toto….so very well behaved, obedient and an absolute joy. The location is spectacular and extremely close to the forest where I got to enjoy some lovely walks with benson and Toto…..so well behaved that they stop at every junction ti receive directions on which way we would be going…..an absolute delight. I would most definitely love the opportunity to look after the beautiful benson and Toto and hope that my path crosses again with Saskia and Rolf….thank you so much ❤️
This was a fantastic sit and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any cat lover! Rachel is a wonderful human and was extremely kind to us, even letting us come and stay a day early. Gambit and Stevie are lovely cats. Gambit is very self-sufficient, and Stevie is a bundle of love and affection. The house is also great. The area has many great restaurants and stores while the LIRR is a short walk away for connecting to New York City. Thanks for having us Rachel, we really loved our time in Glen Cove x
