We had a lovely stay in Keyhaven. Poppy was very nervous when we first met her and it took her a day to get used to us but once she was settled she was eating well and seemed herself. Sarah gave us a good guide beforehand and explained how best to approach poppy so that she becomes more comfortable with us. Sarah was in contact with us throughout and was quick to reply whenever we had a question.
We took care of Leia, Abbey and Ziggy for 6 weeks. Our words will probably not be able to describe the beautiful experience we had during that time. To begin with, Kelly and Dave very kindly welcomed us into their home earlier which gave us plenty of time to get to know the cats before they left, as well as the house and the routine. Kelly and Dave prepared a mega complete guide for us with descriptions of each of the cats, their habits and routines, as well as useful and important information related to their home and the care of the kittens. Each of the cats has a different personality and routines. However, we became very attached and bonded in a short period of time. It was our first experience taking care of 3 cats and it couldn't have been better. Ziggy with his craziness and predilection for hiding under his blanket or in bags; Leia delicate and affectionate but also grumpy when other cats invaded her space; Abbey and her cautiousness, sweet as can be. Regarding the house, it was very comfortable to work in. With 2 offices, it was perfect for us who work online. And if you like music, you will love the music collection in vinyl records and cds, as well as all the instruments in the house. There are also many interesting books to read. The location is very convenient as well, nice neighborhood with stores nearby. It was key to be able to use the bikes that were left for us, perfect for getting around the city. During the period we took care of their home, we felt super comfortable and also at ease, as the contact with them was always fluent when we needed it. We thank them very much for their kindness, flexibility and good vibes. We miss and will miss Leia, Abbey and Ziggy, but we know they are loved where they are.
We absolutely loved looking after these incredible cats and dogs! James and Sabrina's wonderful house is in a perfect location in Sydney and they were both more than generous in going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable during our time there. Miel and Blix are such sweet low maintenance cats, but always up for a play or a cuddle. Merlin is just the cutest and most perfectly behaved dog ever and Selkie, while a bit more high maintenance, is really a big softie at heart and I have no doubt will be much more relaxed and laid back in a few months. These dogs are very energetic, but so well trained which made the whole experience extremely rewarding. Merlin and Selkie may well be the standard by which all future dogs we meet are measured by - we just loved them so much! We would definitely recommend this house sit to others.
If only we could give bonus stars, as I would. We dearly miss Benjamin and Lola; they are such characters and their cuddles are the best. Lola loved her ball playing, Benjamin loved his snuggles, and they both loved their treats. They are beautifully cared for by responsible owners. The hospitality of these hosts was fabulous. Such easy people and a pleasure to socialise with, so much we hope to see them again in Switzerland or NZ. We also enjoyed the comfort of our bed and the apartment and it is so easy to get to from the airport. Till we meet again. Thanks once again.
Janet and Alan were very welcoming and took the time to show me around the local area. They very kindly arranged for me to see a movie at the film night in the local hall. Their home is in a lovely village not too far from London. Panda and Panther were a pleasure to look after. They have very different personalities and made me laugh with their little quirks. I would recommend this sit.
Bella is aptly named: sweet and lovely and easy to take care of. She is happy with long walks, but definitely likes to stop to smell the roses. Monti shows up on his own schedule, snuggles, purrs and is always a delight. Emily was a lovely hostess -- and quickly answered our few questions while on her travels. Truly means Make Yourselves at Home. The house was very comfortable and well-situated, a short stroll to the pretty town of Bad Tolz as well as walks along the river and woods. Highly recommend this sit.
