This was a last minute sit and I’m so glad I applied for it. Despite, the last minute arrangement Hanna and Greg welcomed me in their home explaining all details. Communication was easy since the beginning and straightforward. And your home became the house of my dream 🤣 sooo clean and tidy. In a relaxing location and leafy area of London. Muffin and Cookie - the names are already so sweet! They are so easy to take care of. They enjoy being out . Cookie especially enjoyed eating and begging for treats. And Muffin is just so sweet, it was so lovely waking up seeing this beautiful white on the bed ☺️ Thank you for having me as a trusted house sitter. I’ll definitely be up to sit for you again anytime it will be possible.
This was my first sit and it set the bar high! The dogs are the sweetest things ever and the highlight of the trip! They are so awesome you almost don’t want to leave them to venture out into the lovely playground that is Evergreen Colorado. Kim and Craig kindly welcomed us into their fun space and were so helpful; they left clear instructions and were always available for any questions or concerns. This was a top-notch sit and I would absolutely do it again if the opportunity arose.
What a wonderful house / pet sit this was with Buddy that I did not want it to end! I initially met Pam and David during FaceTime and I could tell that they are both loving and caring pet parents to Buddy. A day prior to Pam and David's departure, they gave me a thorough tour of the house and of Buddy's care and routine. Pam emailed me a meticulous and brilliant Welcome manual which even included a table of contents. I knew that I would be well prepared to care for Buddy and her home. Pam even printed out the Welcome manual to include minor additions made in red print. The hosts were very generous, welcoming, kind, and I felt at home. On the day of their departure, we met again briefly to ensure that I had everything I needed prior to their leaving. Pam is easy to communicate with and she is super-organized. It was very helpful that she had many items labeled in the house to make it easy to locate. Pam's home is clean, spacious, and the furnishings are extremely comfortable. Pam's home is close to stores and restaurants and she gave wonderful local recommendations in the Welcome Manual. Now on to the superstar, Buddy! When I first saw photos of Buddy and read about him in Pam's listing, I wanted to meet him immediately. In meeting Buddy, he was happily excited with a wagging tail and took to me right away and I to him. Buddy, with his mesmerizing and beautiful hypnotic eyes, stole my heart from the beginning and I fell hopelessly in love with him. I was always excited and eager to begin each day with Buddy as I knew it was going to be a fun day. Each day, Buddy and I enjoyed walking, jogging, sprinting, and exploring different trails near Pam's home. Buddy did pull some on leash when excited; e.g. sees a rabbit, but for the most part--he displayed great loose leash manners. Buddy is such a playful, fun, energetic, entertaining, adorable, handsome and loving boy. Buddy is packed with high energy and is up for play time at any time. Play time included hide and seek (he found me 3/3 times); tug of war, toy puzzles, chasing his frisbee, tennis balls, and his footballs. Buddy has boundless energy and seemed to never tire of game play. Buddy enjoyed my brushing him, he enjoyed belly rubs, and he enjoyed car rides in which he is excellent in the car. Pam and David have done an outstanding job with Buddy's training as he knows many commands. My favorite is asking him to "sit up" and he sits on his behind with both of his front paws up and then reward him with a treat. He even sat politely for his meals and waited for me to say "okay" (while giving eye contact) before he began eating. Buddy is super easy to care for. He is such a well-behaved and friendly pup. He became my shadow. It did not matter how many times I went up and down the stairs, he was on my heels. And with Buddy near, while relaxing in the living room or on the screened porch, it was peaceful and serene to listen to the soothing sounds of the birds and feel the soft breeze coming through the window screen. I loved the feeling of paradise with the beauty of trees, plants, and flowers. Buddy loved being near me, but never overbearing--just wanting to share in the experiences. Pam's title for her listing is very accurate: "He'll soon be your Buddy...." Buddy literally became my buddy, pal, companion, and friend. There was never a dull moment with him as he gave me many laughs and smiles. I loved, loved, loved, every second, minute, hours, and days that I spent with him. I told him I loved him everyday. I would also have random conversations with him and when he cocked his head to the side trying to understand what I was saying--maybe he did--it was the cutest thing. It was also quite cute to see him sit in front of me and place his front paws over my arm and then lick my hand. Misty-eyed, I was sad to leave my new pet friend and I missed him as soon as I pulled out of the driveway. Buddy saw me off and it was hard looking back at his sweet and adorable face. Thank you Pam and David for your hospitality! Thank you for entrusting your precious baby boy Buddy into my care which I never took lightly or for granted. I had an amazing time and so much fun with Buddy! For anyone contemplating this house / pet sit, do not hesitate to apply or accept an invitation. Buddy is a true gem and you won't be bored here. Prepare to be impressed by Buddy and fall in love with him--just as I have! Should I have the opportunity to travel and house / pet sit again for Pam and David, I will do so in a heartbeat to be reunited with my newfound friend, Buddy. I highly recommend!
Stormy, Sasha and Sophie share a beautiful home on the water with Kristi and James. Kristi and James made sure we had everything we needed for a fun visit. If you like hanging out with a well behaved lab and taking longs walks on the beach together you will love this stay. :-) Stormy is ready to go whenever you are! The golf cart was filled with fuel to take us on our daily beach adventures ( less that 10 minutes away). Sasha and Sophie are relaxed and easy going cats. Sasha is the playful one while Sophie prefers to keep to herself most of the time. She will accept petting however. :-) There are restaurants close by that you can get to on the golf cart and plenty more just a short drive away. We enjoyed relaxing in the evening in the hot tub on their deck. The next door neighbors were very friendly and I felt very safe and comfortable.
Loved caring for Hercules! Very quiet little fluff, independent and communicative in his very own unique ways :) Thank you Alexandra!
Our stay with River and Oki was fantastic! Wakana and family have a beautiful home, well equipped with everything we needed for my family's stay. Their large house accommodated all of us and we loved using the well-equipped kitchen, the office for remote work, the hot tub to relax, and the treadmill to get in a workout. River and Oki gave us plenty of exercise too with neighborhood walks around the gorgeous trails surrounding their house. This sit worked perfect for us because we were working remotely and needed a home base. The dogs require multiple walks a day (River, the younger dog needs longer walks) so this gave us welcome breaks from our work. It was very fun to care for them and they are very sweet dogs! My kids hugged them and cried when we left, and we plan to stop by and say hi the next time we pass through town. When we arrived we were given a tour of the house and shown the dogs' food and meds (older dog Oki requires meds in her food at morning and night). Everything was very organized and set up for us with printed instructions so it was easy to keep on the schedule for feeding, meds, walks, and treats. River is a lab and true to her breed, she is very strong and has tons of energy! She needs walks and to be played with regularly. She likes to sleep on your bed and be in the same room as you if you are just hanging out. Two long walks a day should do it, but my kids loved playing with her in the house and wearing her out! I did not allow the kids to walk her on the leash because she is just too strong. We also took her in the back yard for potty breaks and throwing the ball. Oki is a small breed mix and an old girl who was born a city dog so she likes to walk on sidewalks but not on grass! She will do a short walk to the nearby park one block away, do a short tour of park then back home. She walks easily with the leash and my 10-year old loved walking her. The only time she really picked up the pace was when the house was in sight, then she would practically run home to her bed! We did our dog walks as a family so that one adult could take Oki back inside and the other could take River on her longer walk. Oki would be okay if left alone after her short walk, she just wanted to take a nap. There are many great open areas and spaces to walk dogs, and we explored some of them on the list that was provided to us. This is a beautiful area to explore and downtown Petaluma is very cute with its shops and restaurants. Our last night, we picked up savory pies at the Petaluma Pie company while the dogs waited in the car. River and Oki are very good and patient dogs who don't mind the leash and will ride and wait in car for short trips. We were so fortunate to find this wonderful dog sit over our Christmas holiday where we enjoyed their beautiful Christmas tree, hanging our stockings over their mantle, and snuggling with doggies by the fire. And Santa found us there even though we were far from home. We will be talking about this special Christmas for many years to come. Thank you, Wakana and family!
