Charlie & Rupert
I had such a lovely time sitting for Charlie and Rupert at their beautiful home. Gobi is the real star of the show as he was such a pleasure to look after - he’s a golden softie. He is so well-behaved and has a really lovely nature - it’s very clear how much his family love him and it’s quickly evident as to why!
Charlie, Rupert and their family were so welcoming, warm and generous with their time in explaining how everything worked and how best to care for Gobi. Everything went very smoothly as a result! The Surrey Hills is truly such a beautiful part of the world and I loved exploring it a little with Gobi - there are some really lovely walks near them.
Charlie was kind enough to leave the fridge well-stocked and to leave me a good few meals’ worth after they left which was so welcome whilst I was initially settling in.
Their home was more than comfortable and had everything I could have wished for while working from home and looking after Gobi. Their garden is also beautiful and it was such a luxury being able to take advantage of lots of lovely outdoor space whilst I was there.
I can’t thank Charlie, Rupert and their family enough for making this sit such a lovely experience, especially since this was my first Trusted Housesitters housesit - thank you all!

Sue
Really beautiful house in a fantastic location - everything you need is there. I found Sue and Pete really easy to liaise with. Probably is better if you are a driver as the local cabs aren't great. Squidge is a totally cutie and loves to play and keep you company while working. I enjoyed meeting the local cows and hanging out in Pete's epic market garden.

Leona
Simba was an absolute gem to be with. The most gentle cat we've ever had the pleasure of spending time with. Simba was full of personality and a very talkative Siamese. Once he was comfortable with us, he loved being on our laps, head rubs and sleeping under the covers. Administering his medications was easy. The canaries were so pleasant to listen to, such a treat.

We arrived one day early to meet Leona, Simba, Yarrow and Tansy. Leona was very friendly, upbeat and had a great sense of humor. She had many great suggestions on things to do and places to visit. We felt very welcomed in her home, she provided us with a great dinner and brought us to downtown Courtenay so we could get our bearings. Her home was very clean, comfortable and in a very quiet neighborhood. We saw rabbits and deer on a regular basis near her home. The neighbors Frank and Nita were very friendly. Leona's gardens were easy to maintain, we watered early in the morning and had the rest of the day for other activities. Picking the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries were Roger's favorite morning ritual.

We thoroughly enjoyed discovering the area both on foot and by car. We walked to downtown Courtenay almost every day and loved the shops and restaurants, especially the "all you can eat Indian food" at Manvirro's Indian Grill on Ryan Road and Cornerstone Taphouse at 208 Fifth Street. We also took buses to Comox (bus #4), Enfield Centre (bus #20) which has Walmart, Winners, Sportchek, Marks, Staples and Best Buy to name a few and Cumberland (bus #20) which is a very quaint little town and a must visit. The last 2 days we were there, we rented a car and drove to Campbell River, beautiful ocean town. We strongly recommend Elk Falls Provincial Park with it's suspension bridge. We did the extended hike and loved every minute of it. Another hike we did was on Mount Washington called Paradise Meadows and Helen Mackenzie Battleship Lake Loop Trail, also very nice. We were at Leona's June 11th to the 20th and the weather was perfect, we had sunshine every day.

We would definitely return to Leona's in the future.

Sarah
We had a good stay at this beautiful, lakefront home. The house itself has great features/amenities, including a hot tub, large master bathroom, and an amazing view. Sarah was great at communicating with us leading up to and during our stay.

Mochi was not there when we stayed, but we loved taking care of Blue (the cutest cat ever) and the fish!

Sean and Columbia
This was my first housesit and I could not have found more wonderful people or precious pets to make friends with. Columbia and Sean are amazing and were very clear about everything. Columbia sent me so many links to things to do and see, I could publish a guidebook! She answered a million questions and is the best of hostesses.
Taking care of Siog, Lugh and Einstein was a gift for me and I had a wonderful time. I'm sad to leave and hope to be lifelong friends with this beautiful family. County Donegal is also a fantastic place to visit. The people are kind and welcoming and the land is breathtaking. Be sure to enjoy walks in the hills with these sweet babies. They're incredibly smart and responsive and a joy to be with. I can't say enough good things.
