We've just had the most wonderful ten days in Exeter, looking after Merlo. Could not have asked for better! It was lovely to meet Emma and James and their family, who made us all feel very welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Merlo, their Labrador, is brilliant. Such a great character, fun, intelligent, good company - and is excellent at finding balls in the bushes on his walks! The house is perfectly located in a beautiful area, close to the canal, local shops, quay and city centre, as well as being just a short hop from the coast. Emma and James left us a very useful welcome pack, with notes about Merlo and a lot of information about the area too; all much appreciated. They also very kindly left us a lovely selection of food - thank you! Communication was great throughout. It was lovely chatting with them both and good fun sharing Merlo anecdotes. We throughly enjoyed this sit and would love to be given the opportunity to house-sit for Emma and James again.
Looking after Maisie and the birds was such a privilege! We absolutely loved them, and the house and area were gorgeous. Shaun and Mel were so lovely, considerate and thoughtful as well. Hoping we’ll be back!!
Prior to our stay, communication with Christian and Hannah was excellent. We visited the day before their departure and Hannah gave us a very warm welcome, showed us around, introduced us to Pipsqueak (Pips for short), and gave us the keys. The weather was mostly in our favour during our stay, so we were able to take advantage of Hannah’s and Christian’s lovely garden and enjoy some meals outdoors. Their home is literally a 5-minute walk from High Brooms station, making it very handy for day trips to Tunbridge Wells or further afield. Instead, we chose to do a lot of walking - through the paths and park into Tunbridge Wells which is a very pleasant 30-minute walk. Dunorlan Park is just a short distance further and is well worth a visit. Less than a 10-minute walk from the house is a Budgens for those last-minute grocery needs. Google Maps is pretty reliable with showing the walking routes through the many paths in High Brooms, but keep on the lookout so as not to miss them! Big-eyed Pips is a real sweetheart. She was a bit tentative at first, but in no time at all was following us around and wanting to be wherever we happened to be - both in the house and in the garden. Hannah and Christian had kindly offered us their standard double bed (which was very comfy) and Pips spent every night sleeping at the foot of it. Her neighbourhood adventures are short as she lives her life by her tummy’s alarm clock which is cleverly synced to her timer-dispensed biscuits. Unlike many cats, Pips is really fastidious about her personal hygiene and looks so cute when she positions her stocky little frame to have a good wash. She loves her long naps too, but most of all it’s the Dreamies and the occasional gourmet treat that rock her world! Be warned, she has perfected an adorable big-eyed stare that would weaken the resolve of even the strictest of kitty lovers. The best approach for sitters to take with Pips is to speak to her kindly, softly and often, gaining her trust by showing respect for her ‘rules of engagement’. We both grew very fond of her during our 10-day stay and were sad to have to say goodbye.
Leonora was a very welcoming and an easy host to work with. Pedro is a lovely cat, who loves to be around people. He is very easy to care for with lots of character and personality. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend highly.
Meg and Michel have a lovely home and we really enjoyed our stay. They are warm, friendly and easy going. Blossom and Bessie are very independent and easy to care for. They love to have you around and enjoy their daily walks and evening cuddles. Suzy would pop in every now and then and the kittens were lots of fun to have around. I would highly recommend sitting for this family.
Amazing people, pets, and place! What a wonderful experience. Pam and Keith are very kind, interesting people and I really enjoyed meeting them. It gave me some huge garden (and lifestyle) inspiration - the garden is truly stunning, and Pam is literally a master! The cats stole a piece of my heart, they are so sweet and cuddly and communicative, and I think I'll miss them everyday. The place is stunning, carefully built into a perfect sanctuary by Pam and Keith, and I am so thankful to have had the experience!

I have been a Barking Mad Host and service user for almost 20 years. Elaine and John are the third owners I have worked with and not only are they lovely people, they are by far the most enthusiastic, committed owners of the service. All your lovely dogs are looked after so well in their holiday homes.
After a bad experience with dog care some years ago, I thought I would never go on holiday again – until I found Barking Mad. My pooch has some quirky habits which require particular care and attention – John and Elaine came to the house to meet him, took note of everything down to the smallest detail and found the perfect host who catered for all his needs. I went to visit my family in New Zealand and had heaps of text messages, photos and video showing my dog out on lovely walks, having lots of fun and looking totally relaxed. I have already booked my next holiday and have every confidence that with Barking Mad, my dog will receive the same care, attention and love that he gets at home. I can’t rate this organisation highly enough, they are simply the best.
I cannot recommend barking mad fife enough. When your going on holiday you want your furry friend to be looked after the same way you look after them at home. You want peace of mind and reassurance, this is exactly what Elaine and John provide. No detail is missed out and they cover absolutely everything with you in a 2 hour initial meeting before they board your dog. Our dog has joint issues which can limit some activities, this issue was 100% taken on board while our dog was in Elaine and Johns care. I think it’s important to know any health issues your dog may have will be looked after correctly. You’ll receive updates with photos when you are away- chances are your furry friend is also having a 5 star luxury holiday of their own! The service is second to none and worth every penny. I cannot rate Elaine and John highly enough.
Since we first used John and Elaine at Barking Mad to look after our Gordon Setter "Floyd" for six weeks in 2017 we would not consider placing him anywhere else. He loves going with them and has the time of his life running with the pack in the hills and swimming in the sea. While he's away we get regular pictures and videos sent so we can see how happy he is. We would have no hesitation recommending them even for long stays. Peter and Maureen.
Our last dog Trey, a ‘silver surfer’ was always looked after so well and loved his holibags with Elaine and John. He was a withdrawn guide dog who had bad arthritic legs who just loved people and we worried how he would be staying with others. We needn’t have worried as he loved every second and was always cared for to our exact needs regarding his food and medication. When we lost him our two new girls who are rescue labradors now go on holiday with them too. As I am now disabled it was a huge worry for me that if I had to do anything at short notice, who would look after my dogs? I am so lucky that Elaine and John have always gone the extra mile for me when I have needed care for the girls at very short notice sometimes so that this now is not an issue. If anyone is considering dog care I would say let your dogs go on holiday with John and Elaine. You can have total peace of mind to enjoy whatever you are doing in the knowledge that your fur babies will be having a blast with the best care possible and being treated as part of a family with all their home comforts.
This is a wonderful service, run and owned by 2 devoted dog lovers. Elaine and John are friendly, caring and very professional people, they ensure that you and your dogs safety, comfort any special needs are their main priority. We were extremely happy with every aspect of the service they provided, which allowed my Wife and I to enjoy our break/holiday away, knowing that our 'Kizzi' was safe and happy! Many thanks to you both and we will be using your service anytime we ever wish to go away, when we are unable to take Kizzi.
Excellent service provided by wonderful and devoted staff. Nothing is too much for them as in our case when our pooch has to go to the vets, as she does once a month, it is no hassle whilst we are on holiday. Her dog sitter is excellent as well and we know that the dog is being well cared for. Keep up the good work and I would recommend them to anyone.

Just Picked up my two happy boy's, who clearly enjoyed the wee holiday at Puddledub Kennels. The guys at the Kennels are very friendly and helpful and clearly they all love dogs as my Two Springers Albert and George were happy to be with them all. Kennels are clean and tidy and all dogs are well looked after. This was the 1st time ever leaving our dogs in Kennels and I would definitely use puddledub kennels again. The first time we've used Puddlebub Kennels, very good impression. When we dropped him off and picked him up, there was plenty of staff around to help, all of them very friendly. He'd obviously had a good experience as he was his usual happy cheerful self when we picked him up. Will use again for sure.

Julie took fantastic care of our dog Islay when we went on holiday, she sent us daily updates and pictures of all the activities she did with islay. She even bought her a new Kong ball when islay lost her original. She clearly has a passion for what she does and is extremely professional and capable. Would highly recommend and will be definitely using her services again
Would highly recommend Julia to look after your dog. She looked after our puppy for 4 weeks and will definitely be sending Lexie back to her when we go on our next holiday. She sent us regular photos and updates and kept us informed when Lexie had a mild reaction to some salmon oil. Lexie had an amazing time with her and would love to go back! 10/10.
I would highly recommend Julia to everyone who loves their dogs. Julia was looking after my dog for a couple of days and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I have been receiving regular updates about Lexi and photos from her daily activities. Knowing that Lexi was so well looked after allowed me to enjoy my time away from her. Our beagle x Luna has now stayed with Julia 3 times and I now wouldn't think of placing her anywhere else whilst we go away. Luna has been to kennels once and it was completely the wrong situation for her but now we have found Julia we no longer worry if she's OK. We have just got Luna back after a 5 night stay and she is a very happy doggy. After her stay in kennels last tear she was very different with us and had developed some bad habits. Now when she goes to Julia's she is dragging us to her door and is still the same dog upon return. This time she didn't even notice we had gone, she ran off to play immediately. Julia sends us updates everyday, letting us know she's getting the best care. Luna is treated like one of Julia's own, Luna adores her. You won't find a better place for your fur baby than with Julia.
This is the 3rd time I’ve left my Kobe with Julia. It was my first time leaving Kobe so I was very anxious. From the very start , Julia put me at ease and she took Kobe for a few sleepovers before we left him for his holiday. Julia, is absolutely fantastic, I feel totally content when I leave Kobe with Julia. It’s just home from home. She is so good to him, he gets loads of walks, attention and snuggles. Her own dogs are absolutely adorable 🥰. Julia, keeps me well updated, she sends me loads of pics and videos which I absolutely love , he always looks so happy and getting these just makes my day. I highly recommend Julia, I wouldn’t leave my Kobe with anyone else now. Thank you so so much Julia for being so kind and caring to my baby boy and looking after him so well for us! I was attending a wedding and needed a dog sitter (I live in Cheshire) Julia was recommended to me and she did an excellent job looking after my 10 month old pup, who can be a bit timid at times. He had an afternoon of fun and adventures. I loved getting photo updates of what he was doing. I would use Julia again if I needed her.
My pups had a great time with Julia. It was their first time away from home so I was a bit nervous but no need as Julia sent me photos and videos of them having a great time. Would definitely recommend!
Never used the kennels myself but seen the owners and dogs in passing. Looks a very well run, clean boarding kennel. Chatting to owners they are always delighted with the service. And always have good control of dogs. If I was to leave my dog any length of time it would definitely be with these guys. Beautiful surroundings, so close to town but feels like you're in the countryside.

We use Begg Kennels two or three times a year, our dog is happy to go and gets excited in the car on arrival. We can see pictures of him on Facebook everyday, and I know he is well treated because when we collect him, although he is excited to see us, he also goes back to Holly to show appreciation!
Fabulous kennels in country surroundings. My nervy Bichon loved it there, and Holly obviously spends time with the dogs in her care, as my wee fellow snuggled up to her before we left for home. The bedding I supplied was all freshly washed for me and my dog was shampooed too. Not a service I received anywhere else, and that was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended kennels.
We use Begg kennels whenever we go on holliday. Holly looks after our dogs and posts lots of photos during there stay and exercise. The only downside as they are closed during the winter months and we have to take our dogs elsewhere.
They looked after my dog very well also nothing we asked them to do was to much trouble will use them every time we visit Scotland

Miriam looked after our Cavapoo puppy Max for a week. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We had regular updates on Max throughout the week who was well looked after and cared for. We had complete piece of mind during our holiday. Miriam was great to deal with, she also provided us with a lot of useful tips and suggestions with Max going forward. She is very knowledgeable about dog breeds in general. Brilliant service and Max will be back for his ‘pawlidays’ again soon 🐾

Honestly what a genuine lovely lady miriam is although she was fully booked on the dates I needed she went above and beyond with lots of helpful information moving forward, recommend advice she gave, the amount of time she took out her own day to talk with me reassuring me and going threw option I'm so grateful for. I would highly recommend her service based on our own chat for the last 2 hours nothing was a problem if anything I have gained knowledge/ understanding of my own wee dog this lady is hands down a lovely soul thank you Tanya x
I have been using Bespoke Home from Home Dog Boarding for many years - the first time was just after Miriam started it all! Border collie Mac was just a young dog then and he was always well cared for and given that extra special love and attention that you want for your special pet when you have to leave them. We have had 4 different carers over the years and all have been excellent. We now have two dogs, 2 border collies Mac and Midge, and whenever we leave them, we are confident that that they are in safe hands and that they will be cared for as you would care for them yourself at home. Sometimes, it is hard to tear them away and bring them home, they have had such a great time!! Thank you! :)
Unfortunately she couldn't board my dog, but she spent a lot of time with me trying to help me out. A very helpful lady who gave her time when she didn't have to.
Bespoke Dog Boarding was highly recommended to me by my vet. I telephoned the owner of the company and we had a detailed chat about my dog and his requirements, also his daily routine. I was most impressed by the owner of the company and can tell that she clearly is very knowledgeable about dog breeds in general. I was concerned that my dog who is a loveable middle aged lab, would be home boarded alongside, for example, a "Staffie" but after reading these other reviews, I am delighted to say that dogs who some may consider as potentially dangerous breeds would not be allowed to board with Bespoke Dog Boarding. This gave me peace of mind. I then met with one of the dog carers, who fell in love with my boy straight away and vice versa. The carers home and garden was beautiful. We spend over half an hour with the carer and played with my dog in the garden. I could see how happy he would be if he were to come here for his holidays. I have now used Bespoke Dog Boarding 3 times this year already as the service is fantastic. The dogs receive 3 or 4 lengthy walks each day, loving home comforts, constant companionship and I also received updates during my holiday followed by a selection of beautiful photographs after my holiday, showing Bailey having a super time with another 2 dogs from different families. When I collected him, he didn't want to leave!!!! I have now highly recommended Bespoke Dog Boarding to all of my dog friends. I would advise others to make a booking months in advance of your holiday as they are usually fully booked 6 months to a year in advance by all their regular clients. However I have sometimes asked for a short notice booking and if they have availability they will take Bailey. To the team of dog carers who may read this, thank-you for providing me with total peace of mind and I look forward to using your service for many more years to come.
Used Miriam for my dog Bailies 14 years at least three times a year and couldn’t fault her. She dosnt take dangerous breeds which I feel is a great thing as it is only for the safety of our own dogs . I can’t beleive the below negative posts when thease people have even used the company because they didn’t make it through the strict criteria . Well done Bespoke for not taking any dog just to make more money . Fabulous service and genuine dog lovers .

Nicola is brilliant! It took me ages to find a groomers I was happy with in Glenrothes and I did with Centre Barks. Toby, my dog is always so happy during and after the groom and she even give little tips on how to manage little grooming tasks in between! Highly recommend! :)

Absolutely the best decision we made getting Jemina to walk our fur baby. Our old dog walker was great, but he was walked on his own and on the lead. We noticed though he just wasn’t a happy boy and wasn’t excited about his walks. He now sits at the door and goes nuts when he sees Jemina, as he knows he is getting out to play with his furry friends. He is happy, safe and now loving his walks. We get updates on her Facebook page and can see how happy he is. Highly recommend Jemina x

I bought my retriever Milo to fife doggy home care last week for a trial walk. I get quite nervous to leave him anywhere as he is a bit anxious around new settings/ people. From the moment I dropped him off he was confident and comfortable and obsessed with Jemima. When I returned for pick up after the walk he hardly wanted to leave (slightly offended 😂). Jemima is a natural, well informed and calm dog walker. Whilst out dog walking with Jemima I've observed her interaction and friendly nature with all dogs. The walk is all about the dogs as she focuses on each individual dog and their surroundings and can call them to heel, when necessary, to keep them safe. Have nothing but high praise for John and Jane and staff who looked after our doggies Babes and Brodie when were in Scotland on a break. They were only in for one day. Brodie is a typical Border Collie and can be unpredictable at times. My partner was a little concerned as she has never left her doggies in daycare before. She was over the moon that he'd been really well behaved and is welcome back anytime. We will use Happy Mutts again in the future. Thanks everyone!
I cannot recommend Happy Mutts strongly enough. We came to John and Jane for 14 years until our Wee Man passed away. He was always looked after well and was treated as part of the family all the time. He loved going up to them on his holidays. Thanks for all you did for us.
An outstanding couple who really look after dogs fantastically. John and Jane have looked after our dog for 6 years now and we would always go back to them. She is taken in as part of the family, so are we when dropping off and picking up. She always comes back happy, healthy and content. Cannot recommend happy Mutts highly enough, please, if u need your dog cared for while on holiday or day care, contact them.
They looked after my sprocker for 3 days while we were in Scotland, they are a friendly team who clearly love the dogs they care for. My dog had clearly enjoyed himself as he was pleased to go in day 2 and 3 , thank you again, you are highly recommended
Saw photos on Facebook this evening..unfortunately. They then disappeared. .but was so good to see all the dogs looking so happy and enjoying themselves. Penny included. Yes would well recommend Happy Mutts. It is good to know that she is enjoying her time spent with you.
Cannot trust Happy-Mutts to walk the dogs for the hour they charge for. I have proof that some days my dog was only walked for 15 minutes, and yet they charge for an hour. They also do not walk the dogs at the time scheduled. One example is my dog was meant to be walked between 12-1 and they turned up at 10.10 and I hadn't even left the house. I have spoken to other previous customers who all had the same problems, and yet it still continues, despite complaints. I have emailed about this, but it has been ignored.
Called to ask about dog walking and was told they would call back. They did not. Called them the day before I needed a dog walker and was told they couldn’t help. Really left in the lurch. Pretty unprofessional. Would not recommend

Aimee is a wonder women when it comes to dogs!! She took on my pup that hated being outside and now she gets excited everytime Aimee drives up the street. Aimee always puts the dogs needs first and I fully trust her and I recommend her to everyone who’s looking for someone for their dogs ❤️
We have been over the moon with our experience with WanderPaws. We were so worried about choosing a dog walker as our girl can be challenging when our on walks with confidence and recall. Aimée is an absolute gem! Her passion, care and love shines through for all the doggy’s in her care! My big cuddly bear Lola has been with Aimée at WanderPaws for 2 years and she loves it as much now as she did when she started! Lola can hear the van coming into the street and is desperate to get out the gate to her besties! Aimée loves all the dogs like they are her own and knows each of them inside and out. Aimée always helps me out if something last minute comes up and Lola needs her. I 100% recommend WanderPaws, not only does Lola have lots of friends we have a new friend in Aimée ❤️

We were recommended Aimee thorugh a friend for our new puppy. Just like your children you want to make sure your puppy is going to be looked after, safe and loved. Aimee first came to the house to meet Willow and instantly Willow was all over Aimee showing us she approved, Aimee stayed and chatted, answered all our question and at no point did we feel rushed or was asking too many questions she made us feel right at ease. Aimee sent us messages after Willows first few walks and took some lovely picture to show us. We continue to get updates of each walk Willow is on via Snapchat and Aimee always replies to message about holiday, extra days or any advice we wanted about our new puppy. I feel such at ease knowing Willow is with someone who loves thier job and all the dogs she cares for and Aimee gives us this ease while we are at work. Our Aimee… we just love you. The best dog walking service around. Our girl Novah has been going out with Aimee and the gang since she was 4 months old and with the help from her Novah has come on leaps and bounds. She absolutely loves when Aimee comes to pick her up and we really enjoy getting to watch videos of there days out together. Keep up the fabulous work lovely Love from the Lapsley’s xx
Would give more stars if I could ❤️❤️. Aimee has been affectionately named our fairy dogmother! She takes both of our dogs and our son's dog since they were babies, they all adore her, as do we! So unbelievably supportive and flexible and has even helped us in difficult circumstances whilst our dogs have been recovering from major surgery and on crate rest, taking time out to help whilst we are at work. She even held our dogs places, at minimal cost and a loss to her for 3 whole months whilst they were recovering!! The service she offers, from pick up to drop off, in a secure field too is fantastic! We would be lost without her. Even more importantly, she looks after our dogs and loves them so much, she really is their second mama ❤️❤️. Cannot recommend WanderPaws enough.

Aimee at WanderPaws treats your dog/s like they are her own! She has a connection with dogs like no other! My lab took to Aimee straight away and loves her to bits! The patience she shows for all dogs is second to none and I honestly couldn't recommend her enough!!!!
Aimee from WanderPaws has been truly amazing with me and my dog Summer, I'm a recent dog owner and work out of the house at weekends but Aimme comes and takes care of her and Summer has the best times with her pals. I can take my dog on big long walks but she always comes back knackered from being at WanderPaws. Highly recommend if you're struggling to get out on the daily walks with your dog they will be in very good hands.
