What a great sit! Apartment is cuter than the pics, location is 10/10, Sophie is communicative and flexible , but the best part is the amazing sweet FIG!!! It took us about 10 min to become best friends. Fig lovessss her walks, the park, birds in the street and I just loved seeing her being her adventures little self. She will cuddle you at night, and ask for play time during the day. Would LOVE to sit her again and would recommend that for anyone looking to sit. I will note that for her energetic nature the person who gets lucky to sit her needs to have some experience with dogs and be willing to play with her a lot, and go with her on long walks so she can release her lovely energy. I miss her already !!
Carol and Eric are lovely people with reasonable expectations and solid communication. The cats are nice and we enjoyed hanging out with them. The house stays cool on hot days and is eco-friendly with compost, solar panels, etc. It's quite full of stuff but if you're not bringing a lot yourself, you should be fine. There is a wonderful collection of books. The yard is an absolute gem!! They have an irrigation system for outdoor watering but be prepared to spend time mowing (the mower was hard to start up and keep on even after replacing a spark plug but they may get a different one). It's a tight-knit neighborhood with neighbors who occasionally pop by but aren't intrusive, and it feels safe. We completed this sit when we had a lot going on and limited capacity, and I'd say this sit would be best for people who are able to devote more time and attention to the various tasks required. Overall, it felt like a mutually beneficial exchange and we enjoyed Olympia, as well as meeting Carol and Eric.
