Xan was an excellent housesitter - very quickly established a bond with my nervous elderly cat and provided exceptional care, making sure she ate and felt loved while we were away. We had a great time with Cody, Loki and Freya. Cody is the all time ball fetching champion. Loki is a snuggler and little Freya loves to chase her laser light. Lori’s information in the welcome guide was excellent. We really appreciated the information about Iowa and the local area. They have a beautiful house within easy walking distance to downtown Iowa City. This was a great first house sitting experience and would go back if the opportunity arises.
Plume is such an adorable little cat! She has the most mesmerising eyes I've ever seen. She is very free spirited and adventurous, she loves being outside, sometimes until late, which had me worried the first few days but she always came inside each night, jumping on the bed and spending the night at the foot of the bed. She loves her cuddles in the evening and morning on the bed before she goes about her day! She will ask for attention when she wants to and goes her own way if she doesn’t. She loves sitting on the railing of the deck like a little gargoyle in the morning to check out what's going on in her territory. The house itself is very comfortable and the wifi reliable. The bedroom and the deck have a stunning view on Lac Leman (lake of Geneva) and the Mont Blanc (on clear days). There are some really nice walks in the area and there are supermarkets and restaurants in town, there is also a nice restaurant down the street. Susan and Ward are absolutely lovely people, the communication before and during the sit was great. I really fell in love with little Plume, my adventurous spirit animal. I will miss her a lot! I hope to come back one day to spend time with her again. Sarah and Ward, thanks so much for welcoming me into your home, I hope to see you again soon
Spending this time in SJB was epic. The home has wonderful views, you'll appreciate the beautiful scenery on the property and hiking opportunities and Lynn and Tony do a great job preparing for you for what needs to be done — my days here went by way too fast.
My stay with Sam at Jennifer and Ken's lakeside retreat was fantastic! Communication was easy and they set me up for success with a house tour and detailed written instructions, as well as many local recommendations. I felt genuinely welcomed and comfortable in their beautiful home. Sam was friendly with me from the beginning and proved to be such a great companion. He has a wonderful personality and is so entertaining! Sam and the house are both low maintenance. There were several good places to work from my computer. I enjoyed countless paddles on the lake, reading a book on the back patio, watching the birds and of course playing with Sam. I cannot recommend this stay enough and would be thrilled to get another chance to hang out with Sam in the future!
It is very difficult to know how to start writing this review, as there is so much to highlight! First of all THANK YOU VERY MUCH Rollinka for everything. For your hospitality and kindness. Also for trusting us to take care of the most precious thing in your life: Marvin and Karma, and of course your home. Ok, now we are going to the point. Everything is enjoyed in the paradise of Ferrairolles! The experience is incredible and while it may sound strange that there is no wifi or TV, we ensure that not only is not a problem, but a relief. The stay serves to disconnect from so much stress of the city and routine life and also there is so much to do in the place that there is no time for that. The house is spectacular! It is very large and has everything you need. It is autonomous and ecological. It does not need anything external ... it's fantastic. For electricity there are solar panels that supply the entire house and more! The water has several sources and also all that is used in the house, is reused again through a system of plants that clean it. In the house live 2 chickens that we loved to take care of! we like to think that in gratitude, they gave us 2 fresh eggs every day. What about the 2 white furry giants ??? love at first sight ... they are beautiful and very loyal. They behave very well ... we will miss them very much. We are traveling all over the world and taking care of this place is one of the best things that happened to us until now.
